**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Uma V. | Head of Finance, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What users appreciate most about SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM) is its real-time, end-to-end integration with SAP S/4HANA, which delivers strong visibility into cash positions and liquidity. Its key strengths include automated financial operations, robust risk management tools to help mitigate market and credit risks, and the ability to replace manual, fragmented processes by working from a single source of truth.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

Common complaints about SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM) include high implementation costs, complicated configuration that often requires specialized (and expensive) consultants, and a steep learning curve for new users. People also frequently mention that the user interface—especially in SAP GUI—feels non-intuitive and outdated. In addition, integrating data with external banks can be complex, and performance may slow down when the system is handling heavy data processing.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM) helps address complex financial challenges by offering an integrated system for cash management, risk mitigation, and automated trading. It supports businesses by strengthening liquidity management, lowering market and credit risks (such as FX and interest-rate exposure), supporting regulatory compliance, and enabling more data-driven decisions through real-time reporting.

  ### 2. Centralized Cash, Liquidity, and Risk Management with Strong SAP Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dharamveer p. | Application Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is its ability to centralize and manage financial operations like cash flow, liquidity, and risk in one place. It provides strong visibility into financial positions, which helps in making better decisions. The integration with SAP ecosystem tools is a big advantage, as it allows smooth data flow across finance and accounting systems.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is that it can be complex to set up and requires proper training to use effectively. The interface is not very beginner friendly, and customization or configuration can take time. It may also feel heavy for smaller organizations with simpler requirements.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Treasury and Risk Management solves the problem of fragmented financial data and manual risk tracking. It brings everything together including cash management, forecasting, and financial risk analysis. For me, it helps in improving accuracy, reducing manual effort, and ensuring better control over financial operations. It also supports compliance and risk monitoring, which is important for decision making.

  ### 3. Streamlined Treasury Workflows with Real-Time SAP Finance Visibility

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haripriya R. | Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

The most helpful part of the SAP treasury and risk management is it's strong integration with SAP Finance for real-time visibility, which makes it a stronger feature. The biggest upside of using this, is how streamlined workflows are ease of use and we are able to view automated hedging and FX capture, with accurate real-time insights on liquidity forecasting all in one software.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

I dislike the fact that it has complex implementation, setup which can be time-consuming and resource heavy, further higher cost of license and maintenance expenses are super significant. Advanced features require training and expertise to use effectively, could be harder for someone without technical background to figure out use, and there are customization limits ie., the dashboards and reports have very less custom features to be enabled to. The user experience interface is also complex making performance lesser.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem this SAP solves is the lack of real-time visibility converted to liquidity and risk exposures, further it provides a huge benefit of automated cash forecasting and risk management, reducing manual efforts. It also solves multi-bank connectivity which can be complex, by centralized account management with streamlined transactions. It solves visibility, risk and connectivity challenges improving efficiency, reduced risk and better financial decision-making.

Some reports and customizations also take time to configure and could be made more user-friendly. SAP Treasury and Risk Management could improve with a more user-friendly and modern interface for new users. Navigation and daily treasury tasks should be simpler and faster to access. Report customization can be enhanced with flexible templates and easier filtering options. Faster report generation would also improve efficiency for finance teams.

  ### 6. Comprehensive System with Initial Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** loamy t. | Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

I rely on SAP Treasury and Risk Management to maintain a single source of truth for our organization's liquidity and financial exposure. I appreciate that it solves the headache of moving away from manual, disconnected Excel trackers, where a single broken formula or a typo could lead to massive reporting errors. I like the real-time dashboard; unlike older versions of SAP where finding data was like a scavenger hunt, I now have a personalized dashboard that surfaces my key KPIs immediately. Having real-time visibility is a game changer for how I lead the organization. I also appreciate that SAP TRM provides assisted recommendations for standardizing processes, which is helpful in streamlining operations. Additionally, we integrate SAP TRM with both internal and external tools to ensure data flows without manual intervention, making SAP TRM the brain of our financial operations.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

SAP Treasury and Risk Management has its challenges. The sheer depth of it can be a double-edged sword. It's designed to handle every possible financial instrument and regulatory requirement globally, which means the initial configuration is massive. Setting it up wasn't exactly a walk in the park since the technical configuration and organizational transition were tough, but worthwhile.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I rely on SAP Treasury and Risk Management to maintain a single source of truth for our organization's liquidity and financial exposure. It solves the headache of manual, disconnected Excel trackers, preventing massive reporting errors. The real-time dashboard is a game changer, providing immediate visibility of key KPIs.

  ### 7. Powerful Integration, Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaurav C. | Sr. Manager-Preventive Vigilance Gold Loan, Banking, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

I like SAP Treasury and Risk Management for its seamless integration with other SAP modules, which provides a real-time, 360-degree view of the organization's financial status. This makes cash flow monitoring and risk assessment incredibly efficient and transparent. The integration eliminates the need for manual data reconciliation across departments, ensuring data consistency and reducing time spent on manual audits. With its powerful ability to automate debt and investment management, it decreases human error, acting as a 'single source of truth' for liquidity, aiding faster and more accurate financial decisions. Besides, it's essential for managing large-scale financial operations, especially in gold loan audits, cross-verifying collateral valuations and ensuring compliance with audit standards.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

The user interface feels a bit dated and can be overwhelming for new users due to its complexity. Also, the initial configuration and customization process are quite time-consuming and often require specialized consultants. Simplifying the reporting engine to make it more user-friendly for non-technical staff would be a great improvement. The initial setup is quite complex and requires a high level of expertise, especially when customizing it for specific audit requirements like gold loan valuation and risk parameters. It isn’t a 'plug-and-play' solution; it took considerable time to align the system with our internal audit policies and compliance standards to ensure data accuracy.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use SAP Treasury and Risk Management to centralize financial operations, automate transaction processing, and ensure accurate cash flow forecasting. It solves manual data entry issues, reduces human error, and provides a 'single source of truth' for liquidity, enabling faster financial decisions and strategic risk management.

  ### 8. Unified Treasury Visibility and Risk Control with SAP Treasury and Risk Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cem U. | Senior Financial Analyst, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is that it brings multiple treasury activities into one system instead of managing cash, exposures, and payments through separate tools or spreadsheets. It has been very helpful for improving visibility into cash positions, liquidity forecasting, and managing financial risks such as FX exposure. I also like the integration with other SAP modules, which makes processes more efficient and reduces manual reconciliation. One of the biggest upsides is automation and stronger controls, especially for reporting and compliance. It supports better decision-making with real-time data and helps standardize treasury processes across the organization. For companies with complex treasury needs, it is a reliable and scalable solution.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is that it can be complex to use, especially for new users or teams without strong SAP support. The initial setup and configuration take time, and some processes still feel more manual than they should be. Reporting is powerful, but not always intuitive, and sometimes getting the exact output you need requires extra effort or technical support. The user interface can also feel dated compared to newer treasury tools. One downside is the learning curve, especially when dealing with integrations or changes in requirements. In my experience, the software is very capable, but it can feel heavy for day-to-day tasks, and there is often reliance on experienced users or workarounds to get things done efficiently.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Treasury and Risk Management is helping solve challenges around cash visibility, liquidity planning, and managing financial risks in a more structured way. Before using it, a lot of monitoring and analysis could be fragmented or rely too much on manual work. It has helped centralize cash positions, improve forecasting, and support management of exposures such as foreign exchange and interest rate risk. A major benefit is stronger control over treasury processes and better data for decision-making. It also helps resolve operational issues like inefficient reconciliations, inconsistent reporting, and limited visibility across entities or bank accounts. From a business perspective, it supports better risk management, improves efficiency, and helps make treasury processes more reliable and scalable.

**Reviewed by:** Sathish R. | Solution Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is how everything just ties together. In one rollout, once an FX forward deal was booked, the exposure, hedge relationship, valuation, and accounting entries flowed automatically into finance. Instead of reconciling spreadsheets and chasing postings, the treasury and accounting teams operated from a single, real‑time source of truth—saving days of effort and eliminating audit surprises

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management is how complex even small changes can be. For example, on one project we just needed to add a new FX hedging instrument for a recently onboarded bank. What sounded like a simple request ended up requiring changes across product types, valuation areas, account determination, hedge relationships, and testing across FI postings. A change that business expected in days took weeks, multiple specialists, and rigorous regression testing—making SAP TRM feel heavy and slow to adapt despite its strong capabilities.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP TRM replaces fragmented spreadsheets with a single, real‑time view of cash, risk, and forecasts—helping teams make faster, more confident liquidity decisions across global entities.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

At the beginning of using SAP Treasury and Risk Management, it was very difficult to learn. I took almost a month to learn and go through the training. User onboarding should be easy. The training process should be improved. The initial setup was complex and time-taking.

I also appreciate the flexibility to adapt processes to our specific workflows, which is a huge advantage.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

While SAP Treasury and Risk Management is powerful, there are a few areas that could be improved. The initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, which means it takes time and expertise to get everything running smoothly. Some of the more advanced reporting features have a bit of a learning curve, so new users might need training to use them effectively. I also think the user interface could be a bit more intuitive in certain modules, as navigating between screens sometimes feels slower than I’d like. Overall, these are minor issues compared to the benefits, but addressing them would make the system even stronger.

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

The variety of financial products that can be managed, especially in the derivatives section, is remarkable. I also value the ability to extend its functions through BADIs and ABAP developments.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

Many innovations are only available in the public cloud. This clashes with the reality of many customers who still use an on-premise version. Right now, there are only 4 APIs, which makes it extremely difficult to connect to the outside, especially if we think about connecting via AI agents and obtaining TRM information from the 'outside'. There are many configuration tables, which shows its flexibility, but also makes it difficult to change something after a go live.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Optimize the management of financial assets and integrate directly with SAP FI, which improves the back office of the Treasury department.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

One of the main drawbacks of SAP Treasury and Risk Management is its complexity and steep learning curve. The system can be difficult to navigate, especially for users without a deep technical background. Additionally, customization options can be limited or cumbersome, requiring extensive configuration to meet specific business needs. Integration with other systems can also be challenging, leading to potential inefficiencies or errors. T

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Treasury and Risk Management helps address challenges around cash visibility, financial risk exposure, and fragmented treasury operations. It centralizes cash management, automates processes like payments and forecasting, and provides tools to manage risks such as foreign exchange and interest rate fluctuations.

  ### 24. Enhances Financial Visibility and Control

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** zainab n. | Financial Analyst

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

What I like most about Treasury and Working Capital Management is the visibility and control it provides over cash flows and liquidity. The ability to forecast cash positions, manage funding requirements proactively, and optimize working capital helps support informed decision-making and reduces financial risk. The focus on cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and standardized processes across the organization adds consistency and improves overall financial discipline, which is valuable for both short-term operations and long-term planning. These features add value primarily by improving visibility, consistency, and confidence in financial decision-making. They ensure the organization can anticipate funding needs, manage cash surpluses or shortfalls proactively, and reduce the risk of unexpected liquidity issues. Standardized processes create consistency across teams and periods, reduce manual effort, and limit variability in how cash and working capital activities are managed. This improves efficiency and controls and makes reporting and forecasting more reliable.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

One area that could be improved is the timeliness and granularity of data used for cash forecasting, as delays or limited detail can reduce the accuracy of short-term projections. Greater automation and integration with upstream systems could also help minimize manual adjustments and improve efficiency. Additionally, more flexible reporting and scenario-based forecasting would be valuable, particularly to support changing business conditions and ad-hoc analysis. Enhancing self-service capabilities and documentation could further improve usability and reduce dependency on manual workarounds.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the visibility and control over cash flows, enabling better forecasting and liquidity management, and standardized processes improving financial discipline. It supports informed decision-making and reduces financial risk.

I like that with SAP Treasury and Risk Management we save time, especially when accruing interest.

It is not flexible and gives many errors. It is difficult to modify products, and it does not allow me to accrue charges for guarantees in foreign currency. Migrations cannot be done because the products must be created from scratch and the initial balances must be reversed by FI.

  ### 36. sap treasury application / best TMS practise accumulated / ERP based / liquidity focus

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrii L. | Product Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2023

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

That is best in class product for treasury management for non banking institutions: mining, energy, logistics, and pharmasuiticals. The most important is the approach of SAP - every product accumulates best enterprise practices with which the vendor and his implementation team are experienced to meet. So each next SAP Treasury project counts all the best experience and error handling of the previous. SAP TMS is one of the most sophisticated and reliable systems for consolidated bank accounts management and net financial position tracking for group of companies. It is compatible with 3 party data sources and is capable even to operate with interest rate instruments to allocate your cash reserves more efficiently.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

Nothing bad to tell in terms of execution; it probably would be great to have more integrated hedging capabilities and integrated clearing and custody accounts. It would be great to have more offerings for RPA automation and alerts set up. The main contra: if you have ERP system not as SAP you will experience some integrational problems, and more cost to implement connectivity and potential issues for cloud migration.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project implementation of TMS to manage consolidated financial position - payment, cash balances, debt, deposits, interest payments, CAPEX, cash in transit reconciliation. All in accordance with IFRS.

  ### 37. Best non banking treasury practise / SAP Hana / Large consultants network / Liquidity management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew L. | Senior stratery analyst / Board assistant / SaaS / Private Equity, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

SAP Treasury management accumulates extensive industry expertise and saves you time and costs for the implementation of tailored solution. It is focused mainly on cash position management and multiple accounts facilitation, so it is perfect for corporate payments centers. It accepts 3-d party data to be imported and has API to deliver the capability to add prompt functionality. It is focused on interest rate instruments as resource planning and has reliable data storage.

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

It has no trading transaction functionality to work with iceberg orders, and options accounts should be maintained with a separate project to count all specific vanilla instruments (swaptions). I would be great to import 3-d party credit risk ratings with the possibility of applying the methodology to get the same for ERP Hana counterparties to judge account receivable risks. It would be great to have an OTC accounting module for bills of exchange.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Treasury management of a group of international companies. Our customer has 16 entities located in 7 countries, operating in a large variety of banks and accounts. So the project for TMS was expected and is successfully on the run to implement all the best experiences SAP has.

  ### 40. Fantastic Add-On for Companies of all Sizes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2021

**What do you like best about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

The fact that it is directly linked to the SAP databases and can pull on demand and provide tracking is ideal when working in a fast-paced environment. Our International team was the first to use this as our overseas subsidiaries were solely on SAP, while the rest of the company was on a separate ERP. However, we have since found that integrating with our current ERP has been easy and actually quite productive!

**What do you dislike about SAP Treasury and Risk Management?**

The startup cost for the individualized servers to run the cloud-based operation is my primary dislike. At first, we planned to integrate with our overseas servers and use our port-in to run; however, we did have to base the US operations at our headquarters, so apart from that and some expected licensing costs, it's not too bad, but definitely, something companies should plan for.

**What problems is SAP Treasury and Risk Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have made it easier to get management and C-level's key performance and risk assessments faster, and with greater clarity than we previously could. The system itself is also a little bit easier to use and train on.
