What do you like best about TransIP?

Quick (ticket) support, reply within the hour. Easy to use control panel, it shows a couple of main catogories, suchs as "recent activities", "your products (you use)" and "news and blogposts".

The "your products" links nicely to (all) domain(s) registred at/with TransIP and more specificly to the (if switched on) advanced DNS settings (per domain).

Furthermore, there is the (added) benefit of TransIP having their data centers in the EU. This is a blessing from a GDPR point of view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TransIP?

Fowarding (settings) for a domain is not standard included with the otherwise rich set of feautures.

This comes as an additional extra (yearly) fee and moreover falls under the catogorie "webhosting"(?). So far all other registrars (I've used) have "forwarding" standard in their offering(s). It really is an industry commodity, unsure why TransIP is not following. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TransIP solving and how is that benefiting you?

Quick and easy DNS management for several (sub)domains. Good and fast (ticket) support (within the hour). Based in the EU TransIP takes away (at least some parts of the) GDPR hurdles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TransIP?

I absolutely LOVE the ultra-fast OS rebuilds! It is nearly instantaneous with their all-NVME infrastructure. I'm going to say single-digit seconds for their entry-level servers, and not much more than that for larger stuff. Just the other day I developed a new app server build using TransIP, and I was able to repetitively test the automated build with ansible more quickly than I would have with a local build here. After writing the ansible playbook, the time it took to initialize a new OS instance, run ansible against it, and have a fully-usable app server was under 4.5 minutes. What do you dislike about TransIP?

I wish their billing display in the dashboard allowed for displaying USD instead of just euros. That is kind of annoying. I think a vps provider of the modern day should realize that, no matter where you are, you should be capable of handling more than just your own localized currency, and especially USD. But other than that, I am extremely pleased with it. The other downside of TransIP is that they only have sites in NL. If they were more pan-european or had other global sites, that would be the cat's meow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering TransIP:

I have used a LOT of other types of vps providers. If you don't mind the fact that TransIP is just in NL and only does business in euros, then absolutely go for it. If you are a US-based company and are worried about the lag time going to and from EU, don't worry about it. They are VERY fast compared to other EU-based vps providers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TransIP solving and how is that benefiting you?

Well, as I mentioned, I was able to create an entirely new app server and work through all the kinks yesterday, and now I have an ansible script and some local scripts that will automate the building of this new app server. So when it comes time to build a new one, I click thru the TransIP ordering process, run the script, and I have a new server ready to login and with all the apps and configuration setup, within 5 minutes! It's awesome. The benefits are that I can roll this out, ad infinitum, for customers, with near-zero setup time, meaning more time for more-productive stuff.
