**What do you like best about Transcend?**

The staff are the most helpful. They are knowledgeable and helpful with solving issues and educating our Team about the very powerful features of the platform. Discover, tagging, assessment that sync responses to the inventory and custom fields are amazing. Ease of use, implementation, integration and silo discovery are great. We use the system daily, and the user interface is easy to navigate.
(I lost a large part of my review when the page made me slide a puzzle piece over)

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

There have been some issues with bugs that cost some time when building out or assessment templates.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Silo discovery helps us move away from a system of trust, to a system of record. This is great, because the business often times does not know which systems they are processing data on. Transcend is able to help us with more accurate reporting and data mapping.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

How simple it is to create complex flows for data privacy and consent management including assisting Data Retrieval for legal agencies.  Prior to Transcend.io our organization could not have scaled legal compliance with a small internal team.  After integrating with Transcend.io we are able to manage all Privacy Operations with a small SME group inside Engineering who can support non-technical teams to execute privacy tasks.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

It did take some time to integrate well, but that is to be expected with such a complex service.  The only real constructive criticism I would give is that it would have been great to have a better timeline planned in the beginning to make sure leadership on our side was aware of important milestones for integration.  We were lucky that we could continue our old solution in parallel to this integration, but I would imagine other potential users may need to time the cancellation of competitive software in a tighter window than we were required.

Transcend.io wholistically has solved brining scalability into our Privacy Ops allowing us to be at the forefront of legal compliance and have confidence we can navigate the unknowable future of legal compliance.  It is the silver bullet to maintaining legal compliance in a scalable manner.

Transcend's flexibility to allow for custom-configured software integrations, in addition to an existing list of pre-made integrations, provides a strong foundation for automating data subject request fulfillment and maintaining consent management. Further, the optional components for data silo management are great features to grow into as your company matures with Transcend. Further, the Transcend onboarding team and multi-session onboarding experience helps you get started quickly.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

The price is quite high, which will put this solution out of the range of possibilities for a lot of smaller companies.

It seems to me to be the most advanced technology for handling consent management since it interacts in a middle layer rather than browser. There is fairly good support via our consultant,

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

The documentation is somewhat lacking in details, specifics and entire concepts. The cookie and data flow triage process is much more involved, time consuming and difficult than we were led to believe.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping up-to-date with newly arrising regional legal privacy requirements. Our previous platform couldn't manage regions (such as states and countries). Also, I feel more confident with this robust solution that we will not likely break any privacy policy laws/guidelines.

The flexibility of their integrations is phenomenal.
It's allowed us to fully automate our entire DSR flow saving us hours of work per week



Their support team is quick to respond and extremely helpful in helping things run smoothly

The web UI is fairly slow. Occasionally taking 3 mins to load a single page. 

Bulk actions are limited without utilizing Transcend's API

Initial implementation takes a long time. This is less on Transcend, and more on the variations between other tools API availability and ease of use.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's managing all our consent management, cookie tracking, data privacy, and dsar programs. 

It has made helped our privacy stance mature way more quickly than it would have otherwise.

Trascend's support team made the implementation process very easy, and the ongoing support we've recieved has made it simple to stay on top of any updates that we've needed to make. Labeling our data sources is really easy to do within the UI, and it's made it very straightforward for us to stay on top of our consent management processes.

Transcend's built in consent manager preferences as well as their DSAR tool made implementation simple. It also means that on an ongoing basis we are able to keep tabs on our processors and ensure they are appropriately categorized for consent purposes. Customer support was super responsive and helpful. Integrations are continously being added and updated.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

Many of the "integrations" are just email notifications, which is frustrating. Hopefully these will mature with time.

Making some of our privacy processes user friendly and accessible to users.

Regarding your integration feedback, there are a few different reasons why we are unfortunately not able to offer automated/programmatic integrations for some vendors: 1)  the vendor does not currently have APIs available for certain DSR types, 2) the vendor requires emails to be sent in a specific template, or 3) the vendor requires DSRs to be submitted via a self-serve dashboard which requires someone from your team to login through their browser. That said, it is also our goal to mature as many of these integrations over time as possible, and we are continuously partnering with other vendors to help advise them on how to facilitate an API integration between Transcend and their platforms.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

Before Transcend, it took us a few hours to process and compile data privacy requests from our customers or perform data deletion requests from our systems. With Transcend, the processes are now all automated and the whole process requires a few minutes to complete by us, while Transcend does all the heavy lifting for us

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

Transcend is still a bit younger company and as such, the product may not be as polished as one would wish. Mostly in regards to some integrations or implementation to less known cloud providers. Transcend is constantly adding more integrations though and their support team was always there to help us to resolve any technical challenges, even on a shared Slack channel.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mostly use Transcend to provide customers with information about what data we store about them in our internal systems or with our vendors as well as performing data deletion requests using Transcend. We are also currently exploring their Consent manager feature.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

I just bought Transcend for the second time. At my previous company, it allowed us to automate thousands of privacy requests, which saved headcount and reduced time spent on manual tasks. The implementation was incredibly helpful, including custom engineering from one of the founders to solve a couple tricky integrations. We are in the process of implementing Transcend at my new company and expect similar excellent results.

It is very intuitive and the overall experience feels great. The team is very responsive to any questions we might have.

This is something that I might be missing and that exists, but a few workshops or trainings from the transcend team would be useful!

For us, it's a clearer way of managing user data and fully deleting a user from the platform. We are able to clearly identify what stage a user is in, and potentially reverse the process quickly.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

As a product Transcend is aimed ad privacy pros who want to automate first and make their life seamless and easy. It works with more large SaaS tools too and does many things at once including cookie management, data mapping and SAR automation. You can really mature your privacy programme and save your company money by using these tool. It's been built by people who care about privacy.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

Transcend does lots of great stuff and the company is building more useful features. There is no objections from my side.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Transcend for everything. Our most favourite module is the DSAR management one. Our teams enjoy automations and spend much less time working on these than before saving them time and use money. 

Data Mapping and Cookies must be our second favourites. They give us better understanding and magement over data we already have and give teams the ability to see all data and work with it.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

The people we work with at Transcend are great at explaining what needs to happen - both from the technical perspective as well as the functional / user perspective.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

I don't know that I have dislikes, but as we connected various tools and workflows together there was once in a while a gap - from how we expected it to work and how it was built in Transcend.  However, this is actually one of their best qualities - we explained how we imagined things working, and they were able to quickly modify the integrations or product to support it!  It felt like we had a true partner helping us get set up and working.

Transcend is helping us ensure we're compliant with DSARs and other data privacy concerns.  It alerts us of incoming privacy requests as an intake, it validates user data, integrates to various tools to automatically identify or delete references, and alerts us to identify or delete data too.

I like how straight to the point it is, how the design is very simple and easy to look at, how easy it is to find information I need and how all buttons are easy to understand.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

I would say some processing improvement is necessary, the overall speed of processing requests. Would love to see it behave faster and would also love for it to be easier to find support on the platform.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Normally we use Transcend to track requests for account deletion that our users either ask us to do for them or do it themselves and want to hear updates. I mostly use Transcend to either submit an account for deletion or see it's status.

Getting started documentation is excellent and the team is always available to answer questions - but I would like more detail in some of the documentation, especially around some of the integrations.

Privacy requests and consent management - which quickly becomes a "putting the cart before the horse" issue, but with Transcend's platform we have all of the information we need. Transcend gave us the tools to roll out robust consent management inside our existing processes and platforms.

In addition, their development team has been incredibly helpful with any issues we've had and super mobile with creating new features that we need. Super nice people.

I like almost everything about Transcend -- the one caveat is that they're a relatively newer company on the scene so they are missing some features I'd like to see. However, they're incredibly agile about adding new things so this isn't really an issue.

Transcend creates a platform to, among other use cases, allow companies to host a privacy portal with a place to submit data privacy requests. The ability to orchestrate all of these requests is super helpful and saves us a ton of time, letting us easily stay in compliance with privacy laws.

We have been impressed with the functionality that Transcend offers, the ease of use, the reporting functionality and the willingness of the Transcend customer support team to advise us as business partners.

It is also a tool built for Engineers, which is critical because Engineering will ultimately implement the solution. Without Transcend, privacy compliance would be incredibly challenging and manual for us!

I wish Transcend could be implemented by Legal teams to avoid needing to get development resources internally -- that's my only pain point! I wish Legal could roll this out internally without development support.

Transcend is awesome. We broke a multi-year contract with our prior vendor because they under-delivered. The value we saw from Transcend during the free trial period alone surpassed the progress we had made in months of trying to get our old solution up and running.

30 days after purchasing Transcend we had data mapping + classification running on our 1500+ systems (homegrown and SaaS tools), had a full ROPA ready to go, and had automated our DSR flows. That's insane, and a testament to the strength of their technology and support team.

No we're implementing them for Consent and Do Not Sell management and are fully on board with Transcend for the long run.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

It's been pretty smooth and the issues we've had have been quickly addressed. For example, we saw they were missing an integration to our HR system, and it turned out the vendor didn't have an API available. Transcend coordinated with the vendor and has gotten the endpoint added.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At a high level they've given. us a single platform for legal and engineering to coordinate and solve privacy and data governance problems together. 

Here's the problems they solved for us:

Data mapping: giving us a ton of visibility across our full stack that we didn't have before. They detected personal data in systems that were not even on our legacy "map". 

DSR automation: it was so easy to add the systems discovered during data mapping directly to DSR workflows. Their integrations redact, delete, access, and anonymize data directly, which has saved our team tons of time.

Consent management: we're setting this up no so that we're ready for CPRA and other new state laws. What was big for us was that they understand that consent is often a full-stack issue (not just website trackers) and help us use their integrations across our backend to fully honor requests.

Risk assessments: we're set to start using their new assessments tool to manage our DPIAs - love that it's built directly into their data inventory. Makes more sense for us than a separate point solution.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

Transcend manages erasure and access requests and evaluates our user data in a quick, efficient process that is not too much lift for our engineering team. We're very happy with the interface and intuitive usability of the product.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

I don't have any bones to pick about Transcend. The Transcend team is very responsive whenever our APIs have a problem or we have a request that is stuck. Love the product.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Transcend for privacy requests relating to erasure and access for a user's data that is stored by us or any of our data processing vendors. We will be implementing the Consent Manager next month.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

Before Transcend, we would take requests one by one and delete their data from the few sources we could access. However, this did not include all sources, leaving some of the customer's information still on hand. Transcend has created a much-needed product/service to streamline the ability to ensure that all information from all platforms/systems is deleted when requested.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

Some companies don't have the integration needed for the connection to be automatic which can cause some extra work on our end to get data removed. In all, it's still less work than what we would've had to do if we didn't have Transcend. We would love to see more companies create an integration with Transcend to help automate the entire deletion process.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcend is helping us ensure all of our customer's data is deleted when they specifically request. They have given us a process that was very much needed to respect our customer's privacy requests.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

The core challenge for privacy work at a startup — how do you deliver high-quality privacy experiences, without slowing down product teams? Transcend makes deletion and subject access requests straightforward and seamless, with hundreds of integrations and a simple point-and-click process to setup. The data mapping product makes it possible for us to track what teams are building without needing to be in the way. When we've had ideas about ways to improve the product or areas where we needed support, the Transcend team was incredibly collaborative, jumping on a call right away and suggesting multiple approaches that might meet our needs, and always put us at the center of the decision making. Transcend is absolutely delightful to work with.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

Transcend has been great to work with — excited to continue partnering with them as they continue expanding the product to cover more and more of our data privacy needs!

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

The top features I like are its configuration UI, not just easy but also has documentation and steps clearly described. Adoption and support team members are committed to helping and walkthrough.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

I wish I can configure it for sandbox vs production environments for the platforms. The deletion request processing trails could be better, for example - Notification for the request is not clear to who is it sent.

**Recommendations to others considering Transcend:**

We researched on more than 4 tools and even estimated implementing ourselves. Transcend is a better value proposition than any other solution in market including building ourselves. So I highly recommend Transcend.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Transcend for both data privacy and deletion request. One feature that came out of the box was reporting. Which is cool. Also, this has saved us a lot of time keeping data deletion requests orchestrated in one place.

**What do you like best about Transcend?**

Transcend helps us orchestrate a high volume of privacy requests across our databases and technical infrastructure while providing a sleek interface for users to exercise their privacy rights. Transcend is built for engineering teams to quickly implement and offers easy tools for non-technical teams (i.e., Legal, Customer Success) to manage on a day-to-day basis. Transcend's customer service team has been immensely helpful and creative in helping us design a flow tailored to our business's needs.

**What do you dislike about Transcend?**

While Transcend provides the privacy orchestration piece, keep in mind that Legal and Engineering will still need to partner closely to identify the personal data that will be actioned via Transcend's services. Transcend recently released a product to facilitate the detection and discovery of personal data to create greater automation, but it's a separate offering.

**What problems is Transcend solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcend helps us ensure that our data silos (i.e., internal databases and third-party vendors with whom we share personal data with) are responding to user privacy requests in a quick and organized manner. It removes the need for our engineering teams to build this orchestration engine themselves and makes it easy for users to have a Privacy Center where they can take action and learn more about our company's privacy practices in a digestible way.
