The impossibility to open scanned docs sometimes. **Recommendations to others considering Trados:** It is a good option. Worth of investments for the translation industry and corporate translation projects. **What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creating language corpus and terminology data bases. Fast translation of standardised texts. ### 2. Not designed by a translator **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016 **What do you like best about Trados?** Very widely used and required by translation companies, which means having it in your repertoire will get you more jobs as a translator. **What do you dislike about Trados?** So many things. Trados processes documents by ripping them from their source and divides them into segments that sometimes make sense and sometimes don't. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, it will add tags in the middle of phrases, which must then be replicated in the target segment, otherwise it will trigger a warning message. When numbers are converted into text, i.e. "15" in the source into "fifteen" in the target, it will trigger a warning message. Sometimes when you finish a translation, Trados tells you that there is an unconfirmed segment - except there isn't. The return package will then process incorrectly, which sometimes fails to upload on the project manager's side. Trados is a lot of headaches and does not increase efficiency. **Recommendations to others considering Trados:** It's expensive, and not really necessary if a translator primarily works from PDF documents. I would wait before making such a big investment. **What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?** I mainly have Trados so I can tell translation companies and project managers that I have it and can use it if required. Other than that, Trados is not helpful to me as a translator. ### 4. It likewise has an auto complete alternative which recommends phrases from the utilized dialects. It stores whatever it has deciphered in the past and uses that for capable elucidations later on. Passolo has a considerable measure of capable capacities which give you a chance to reuse past interpretations. **What do you dislike about Trados?** obviously there are a couple missing elements, for example, a "status" field for every interpretation unit, yet I know from the client gathering that they're chipping away at it.
