## Trados Reviews
  ### 1. Trados Boosts Efficiency with Smart Match Recognition

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria Carolina F. | English Teacher, Translation and Localization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Trados is a very efficient tool. Match recognition and autopopulation make the work very practical. It's not the easiest tool to use, but once you get used to it, the linguist's output surpasses that of other cat tools.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

It has a steep learning curve and could benefit from having find and replace tools across files.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados brings agility to the translation process and is quite reliable. Furthermore, it has a very extensive help database, so I usually find answers to my questions.

  ### 2. Improved Review Workflow and Collaboration with Trados Enterprise

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arivuchelvan P. | Member Leadership staff, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Trados?**

The best part is the segment-level review — comments are attached directly to the text and I can edit the translation in the same place, which makes reviews much clearer and faster. The web-based interface is responsive on any device and handles large files smoothly. AI suggestions and terminology checks also help catch issues early and improve consistency.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The main drawback is that offline review is not possible since bilingual files cannot be downloaded, so reviewers must stay online all the time. For teams with unstable internet this can be difficult. There is also a learning curve for users coming from older RWS workflows, and some advanced settings feel a bit complex at first.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados Enterprise solves the confusion and delays in the review process by keeping comments, edits, and segments in one place. This has reduced back-and-forth communication and made it much easier for reviewers to give precise feedback. The web-based access and better performance have also shortened our turnaround time, and AI suggestions help us maintain terminology consistency without heavy manual checks.

  ### 3. Enterprise localization platform with a focus on scale and governance

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Comprehensive feature set that supports complex and high volume localization programs

Stable and predictable behavior in enterprise environments

Broad support for file formats used across software, documentation, and content workflows

Strong alignment with governance driven operating models and centralized ownership

When supported by experienced administrators and well defined processes, Trados performs reliably at scale.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

User access and permissions are tightly controlled, which supports governance but can slow collaboration and onboarding when flexibility is needed.

The user experience favors experienced users. New or occasional contributors may face a steeper learning curve and reduced workflow discoverability.

Adoption of newer capabilities such as MCP style extensibility, API first workflows, and AI native integrations has been slower compared to newer platforms.

String level intelligence for software UI localization could be stronger. More robust string ID matching and reuse would improve change tracking and consistency in continuous delivery environments.

Overall, the trade off between control and usability is the primary area teams should evaluate upfront.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados addresses the challenge of running localization at enterprise scale by centralizing translation workflows, assets, and reuse across multiple languages and file types.

For us, the primary benefit is predictable execution. Once workflows and ownership are established, it supports consistency, reuse, and controlled delivery across ongoing product and content releases.

  ### 4. Solid translation features but limited by outdated design and platform restrictions

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Claudio C. | Translator, Translation and Localization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Trados Studio remains a powerful tool for managing translation memories and termbases, and it offers strong quality-assurance checks that help ensure consistency. I also value the wide adoption of Trados in the industry, which makes it a common requirement for certain clients and agencies.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The user interface feels outdated, similar to older versions of Microsoft Office, which makes navigation less intuitive than it could be. The cloud component is functional but has noticeable resource limitations, and overall it doesn’t provide the same flexibility I’ve seen in more modern platforms. Navigation between projects and files can be cumbersome, sometimes adding extra steps to routine tasks. A significant drawback is that the software is Windows-only, which forces Mac users like me to rely on virtual machines or additional setups just to run it.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados Studio helps with managing large translation memories, ensuring consistency across long-term projects, and meeting client requirements. However, compared to newer cloud-based platforms, the workflow can feel slower and less streamlined. While it still performs well for translation memory management, it doesn’t adapt as smoothly to the fast, collaborative workflows that are becoming standard.

  ### 5. Industry-Standard Translation Tool That Streamlines Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiago M. | Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Trados?**

It’s an industry standard in translation. It streamlines the workflow and helps cut down the time I spend on each project, making the overall process simpler and more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The pricing can feel expensive, especially when I don’t have many projects in hand.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados helps me maintain consistency across my projects, saves me time, and makes proofreading easier.

  ### 6. In my opinion the very best translation tool on the market, by far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryadh S. | Traducteur, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Excellent plugins, excellent UI, excellent customisation options, this app has everything I need to work on a daily basis. It also seamlessly integrates machine translation APIs like DeepL's and the forums & support are reactive and very helpful. It's just easy to use, powerful and reactive, cannot ask for much more!

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Honestly it's hard to find cons about this app, it's really brilliant. Some bugs are to be expected (read/write errors, switching up files too fast sometimes leads to crashes, but those are so few and far between, especially considering how much time I spend on it, that I can't really complain.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a professional translator, Trados Studio saves my translation memories to mention them back when it detects same-ish text and also integrates machine-translation APIs to speed up my work. As a translator, there is a clear before and after using Trados Studio, it's night and day.

  ### 7. Learned a Lot

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2017

**What do you like best about Trados?**

The best of SDL Translation Management System is Memory.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

So far i don't have any dislike after some more experience i may find.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managed Translation and TMS are solving the exact pain points that used to slow me down or compromise quality. Before adopting a structured system, I was juggling fragmented workflows, endless email threads, and versioning chaos across markets. Now, everything’s centralized, traceable, and scalable.
Here’s what’s changed for the better:
- Clarity and Control: I can see exactly where each project stands—who’s working on what, what’s pending, and what’s been QA’d. No more chasing updates or second-guessing file versions.
- Quality Assurance at Scale: With built-in LQA workflows, glossaries, and style guides, I can ensure consistency across languages without manually checking every line. It’s elevated the standard of our output.
- Faster Turnarounds, Fewer Errors: Automation features like TM leverage, pre-translation, and auto-tagging save hours. I can focus on creative adaptation and tone alignment instead of repetitive formatting.
- Better Collaboration: Linguists, copywriters, and reviewers are all working from the same platform. Feedback is structured, actionable, and easy to track—no more scattered comments or missed revisions.
- Traceability for Clients: Whether it’s a campaign line or a financial figure, I can show exactly where it came from, how it was adapted, and who touched it. That builds trust and speeds up sign-off.
In short, Managed Translation and TMS have turned localization from a reactive scramble into a proactive, high-impact workflow. I’m not just managing translations—I’m empowering teams to deliver culturally resonant, quality-driven work across the board.

  ### 9. Fundamental CAT tool for all freelance translators

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Trados?**

I like the fact that Trados offers so many features to improve the lives of translators, but at the same time I find it very confusing because I don't know how to use them all yet. It often takes me a long time to find what I'm looking for. I'd like to have the time to learn how to use them all. I like the fact that there are lots of shortcuts available for the functions offered.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

I'd like the software to be faster between validating segments and to crash less when I have to manage large files. I'd also like there to be a shortcut for selecting all the text, like in other CAT tools (Phrase for example).

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados helps me translate faster and more accurately. It also helps me to work with a wide range of clients.

  ### 10. Essential and life saving

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luisa B. | Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Trados?**

After many years of use, I can say that I could not work without Trados Studio. The feature-rich interface and fast project creation speeds up work enormously, helps maintain consistency throughout the text, allows you to use multiple translation memories and glossaries at the same time, and performs quality control by which the translation turns out flawlessly. Personally, I use it for all my translations, both because the translation agencies I work with require it and because I prefer to use it even when I don't have to, since it is very convenient and speeds up the work.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Some features are a little more difficult to use and you only become familiar with them after a long time of using the software. Once you understand how they work, however, they are useful and effective in terms of saving time.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

especially in technical translations, it is very important to maintain consistency in terminology and, often, to follow the client's instructions meticulously. Studio enables this with a very intuitive translation memory and term search system and quality control that leaves nothing to chance.

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Extremely Reliable. WorldServer's multi-node cluster guarantees continuous uptime and instantaneous failover.

Incredibly Scalable. WorldServer allows you to quickly manage heavy concurrent traffic by adding or removing nodes on the fly.

High reliability. Raft is a consensus mechanism used by WorldServer to ensure reliable data consistency and synchronisation.

Superior Efficiency. Each node of WorldServer is capable of handling tens of thousands of queries per second (QPS) thanks to RocksDB, its storage engine.

Auto-Pruning System. In order to keep WorldServer running smoothly, it can remove or compress data from the past on the basis of how often it is accessed.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Extremely Complicated. WorldServer is a distributed database with a sophisticated design and set of procedures.

Large amounts of material are used. WorldServer needs more CPU time, storage space, and network bandwidth to guarantee high availability.

• SQL is not supported. Since it is a NoSQL database, WorldServer cannot process SQL statements.

• A Great Deal of Trial and Error Required to Master. Developers must spend time learning WorldServer's unique query syntax and client libraries.

• Uncertainty. WorldServer lacks the reliability of more established distributed NoSQL solutions like MySQL because of its infancy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Defining something I like best is hard because all the details and standard setter features make the SDL perfect. It is quite the best offline CAT tool I have used for a long time, and I use it every day. TM features, autocorrect (simple yet lacking in many CAT tools), termbase flexibility, import/export features, and lately cloud features make it unrivaled. Unpaid customer support is provided only for license issues, and when I needed it, support personnel helped me with the utmost care.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

It still sometimes shuts down while working.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it as main CAT tool.

  ### 22. Excellent automated translations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Trados?**

The most important advantages are saving time and resources. Automated translation service is a game-changer for businesses seeking efficient localization solutions. Its advanced technology delivers accurate translations quickly, saving time and resources. The platform's user-friendly interface and seamless integration make it a valuable asset for global communication and content dissemination. While some nuances may still require human touch, their automated translation service proves to be a reliable tool for enhancing multilingual content workflows. We have enjoyed how efficient it is.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Despite its strengths, it does come with a few disadvantages. One notable drawback is its dependency on machine translation, which can occasionally result in inaccuracies or missed nuances, especially for complex or specialized content. Additionally, while the platform offers integration options, some users might find the setup process to be somewhat intricate, requiring technical expertise. Another consideration is that the cost of using WorldServer's services may add up over time, particularly for extensive translation needs. Lastly, the support for certain languages or dialects might be limited, potentially posing a challenge for businesses targeting less commonly spoken languages.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WorldServer's integration capabilities facilitate smoother collaboration among global teams and departments, enhancing overall workflow and reducing potential bottlenecks.

In essence, WorldServer's solutions address the challenges of efficient, accurate, and timely translation, resulting in improved communication, expanded market presence, and enhanced operational efficiency for our businesses.

It supports a wide range of files and languages and provides a vast set of features such as biText creation and quality verification. It is also widely accepted in the translation and localization industry.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Generally speaking, Trados is slow. It is written with filthy codes and because of that, it crashes a lot. Moreover, it doesn't really get the most out of the processing power of modern CPUs.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados helps me managem my translation projects, and like many other CAT-tools, it allows me to save my translations in translation memories. It also allows me to create TMs from old translations.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Indeed, the program has an interface that could be improved, which reminds us of the computer science of a few years ago, and it does not work with PDF, not to mention Excel or HTML language, which are very difficult to handle with Trados. Another drawback is that documents with graphics are poorly managed and have many errors. But the weakest point, which would need a quick improvement, is that Trados is unavailable for Mac. Nowadays, more and more translators are switching to Mac because of its internal search program's power and reliability and because Apple is in fashion.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to customize many aspects relevant to each translator, such as the configuration of keyboard shortcuts or how to recognize dates, numbers, currencies, etc., to automate your translation and avoid repetitive tasks.
The latest version (SDL Trados Studio 2021) includes the Trados Live feature to work in the cloud more flexibly, so you can access your translations and projects from anywhere and from any device.

  ### 30. Help companies translate and adapt the content of their software applications for a global audience.

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Passolo is a high-quality translation management and localization software that offers a wide range of advanced features and useful tools. If you are involved in a translation or localization project, this software could be a great choice to streamline the process and improve your work efficiency.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The cost of Passolo is quite high, which can be a problem for small companies or freelancers looking to save on production costs. Also, the software can be difficult for novice users to learn and use. There are many features and options available, which can make navigation complicated.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The creation of customized glossaries and the management of different target languages. Increased productivity at work, This software also supports multiple file formats, making localization of web, desktop and mobile applications much easier and more convenient.

  ### 31. CAT software a bit cumbersome

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabella B. | Traductrice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

It's quick to use: the automatic application of results from concordance and termbase makes typing very fast. High possibility of customizing the work thanks to the settings (both general and for individual projects).

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

I find it difficult to apply new results from TM, when I fixed 100% fuzzy. The search&replace tool is quite basic. The Verify tool becomes very slow for large files and in any case it is complicated to use.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to have all my works under control, to have full ownership of them and as I have already said, to apply different working methods to the various clients thanks to the very diversified settings.

  ### 32. Experience for Trados

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wei B. | Senior Software Engineer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Convenient local parsing of document type files, as well as custom TM libraries, term libraries, etc. Easy localization project management, resource allocation, etc.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Translators need to purchase them separately, and enterprise licenses are not as available as some online platforms support. The interface has many features but is somewhat complex and has some learning costs

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Localization engineering processing, localization project management, localization resource allocation, various types of issues in the localization process, TM management, Term management, etc.

  ### 33. Complicated interface, not user friendly, yet useful

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Trados?**

SDL Trados seems to be the most popular and most used among translation communities and translation agencies, and therefore possessing experience using it, per se, is both an advantage and a requirement in many cases. SDL Trados is also compatible with other CAT tools, and you can even import TMs from

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The interface in general. It's not user-friendly, and the layout of segments makes the font look bad and unpleasant to the eye. There are also so many functions that might not be useful for many users and therefore make things seem like a mess and confusing.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It keeps a record of my translation for repetitive terms and facilitates the translation of almost identical sentences, and therefore quickens the process of translation a bit.

  ### 34. Trados, favorite CAT Tools

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abu Bekr A. | Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Neat, attractive and comfortable User Interface, smooth functioning, a complete suite of translation tools that merge seamlessly, secured installation and uninstallation to protect the license.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Too many part to install separately, Tool shuts down for no clear reason, only available for 32 bit systems, do not operate on Apple systems, need a well-equipped machine to run it.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Save time by providing previously translated segments, provide terms from both internal and web sources in one place, facilitate handling complicated image files

  ### 35. Trados is a tool, you are the source

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nasser N. | Freelance Translator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Trados?**

The best part of trados that it save a lot of time and help you to keep the same translation tone for all of your similar files,

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The disadvantage is that it takes long time to open and freeze several times when the TM is big

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados maintain a standard translation format and tone when you work in a major projects

  ### 36. Expensive solution for professionals not for fainthearted freelancers...

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ömer Faruk Y. | Branch Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

SDL Trados is the ultimate tool for document translation professionals. Those who study translation at university are generally trained themselves for the software. The ability to remember from the translation database, Termbase creation and splitting documents into proper strings are the main selling point of the software. We have used a single licence version for the last 3 years and created an extensive database which reduces the time required for extensive revisions of annual documents and reports. Termbase is quite helpful and UI is well known, most translation professionals are familiar with the interface.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

SDL Trados requires a gigantic monitör to see everything properly. UI tries to hard to give you a lot of details which sometimes results in confusion as you cannot focus on a single string at a time. The software user interface is for the ones that used to classic Trados, nothing fancy and modern.

Another aspect is that It's extremely expensive, and prices may be revised for low-income countries and startups or freelancers. There are cheaper solutions. The collaborative function had brought an excitement but pricing for a small translation team is a small fortune for small enterprises.(case in our country)

As Translation memory is getting bigger, it is very slow to load (10 GB+), External Spell Checkers make things even slower. Humspell (the original one) is just fine. Creating a termbase is very detailed for beginners. Migrating or moving a Project with all features requires multiple files to be transferred to the new computer

SDL Trados Live is a desperate attempt to bring PC software to the cloud. The web-based solution is behind some other web alternatives.

As our translation teams get bigger we use software less and less and migrated to web-based solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering Trados:**

Check

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SDL Trados for the translation of institutional documents to the target languages where 'single-translator-is-enough' cases. Apart from any criticism SDL has the smartest string creation capabilities on the market.

**What do you like best about Trados?**

I like the user friendly interface, the ability to analyze big projects and get a complete picture about cross file repetition, it also makes it easier while translating.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Sometimes it gives error messages that I don't understand and sometimes the files get corrupted and I have to retranslate from the TM.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes working on pdf files easier, and it saves the time of formatting because it does that for you.

  ### 38. Trados studio quality translation

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Everything is good. loved it overall performance

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translation and localization as per user requirements

  ### 39. Easy to use, comfortable!

  ### 40. Top CAT tool on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

I have worked with Trados for a few years. I have also worked with several other of the major CAT tools on the market. In my opinion, Trados is by far the most powerful tool. It is more streamlined than other tools, easier to navigate and manage, and it has all the major functions that any translator would need.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The only thing I'm missing in Trados is to possibility to choose what glossary/term base to add a term to when quick adding. If I have 3 active term bases in a project and I want to add a term, it will automatically add the term to your main glossary. It would be incredible if I could choose which of the 3 to add the term to (this is possible in MemoQ)

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trados Studio makes it incredibly easy to manage projects and to keep the terminology and tone of your clients consistent over long periods of time, so that you can deliver top quality translations every time.

  ### 41. Switching from SDL Trados Studio to XTM Cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

User-friendly interface, easy filters to display only certain segments

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

The project management side was completely lacking, at least when our company used the software. We switched to XTM which makes allocating jobs so much easier. With XTM there is no need to send files by mail either, everything is already in the software in the Cloud.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translation memory and glossary management, harmonisation of translations, faster and more reliable results, better productivity, improved performance for our clients.

  ### 42. Easy to synergy all the bilingual pairs.

**What do you like best about Trados?**

UI and tools kits to translation for my localization pm.haha

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Hard to use for first time. and you have to do more for the task of translation.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

by synergy my bilingual pm.

  ### 43. Great for large companies, if you buy the support as well.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leslie H. | MR, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Desktop application and complexity. Great for large companies.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Very slow, too complex for a single person, lot of freezing problems, no free support (if you wanna ask anything, you have to pay - except payment and licencing)

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex translation management, including website, PSD, and PDF translation, without having any problem with writing back.

  ### 44. A single tool for all of your problems

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddharth A. | Junior Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Trados?**

File conversion into different formats, whatever client gave us, Trados is there to get it translated.

Sharing of a single file to get it translated.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Little tough for a new person in the industry.
Help in community is limited.

**Recommendations to others considering Trados:**

If you are looking for a single tool which can handle almost all client needs, file format and requirements then go with TRADOS for sure.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Global sharing: sometimes, I have to share files between linguist and Trados is big help in it.
TM: some of our continuous project requires consistency and TM support.

I realized how much simple your life can be if you have a right tool at right time. Some features like glossary, file conversion, sharing and TM are gem to me.

  ### 45. It use to be a standard for CAT Tools, now not so much...

**What do you like best about Trados?**

Working with xliff files, importing, using, creating memory translations, etc.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Price and difficult integration with MT tools.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As any CAT tool it is of paramount importance when working with localization projects.

  ### 46. One of the best CAT tools

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pelin w. | Vendor Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Trados?**

I like the user-friendly software and the fact that it is easily customisable. It's efficient and is a great tool for project management as well.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

It often crashes when doing spellchecking and the data and the changes get lost. This is very frustrating if you're working on a large project.

**Recommendations to others considering Trados:**

It's a good tool for those who are looking for an efficient tool where you can translate, manage translations, manage TMs and TBs and customise your project and how you approach your project.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Xbench integration is great. You just download the plugin and you can run Xbench on the whole project with one click. This saves a lot of time especially when making amendments because when you click `edit segment` in Xbench, it directs to the correct segment in Studio.

  ### 47. Using casually for 3 years.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander S. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Trados?**

The very powerful system, includes many useful features, such as MT, QA, etc.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Trados is working only with Windows, so I can not use it on my new Mac / M1.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assist with translation quality check.

  ### 48. Andre's review: SDL Trados Studio

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre C. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Trados?**

It is the most used, it makes it much easier to allocate projects with external resources.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

Price. Even though it is the most used CAT tool on the market, the initial investment value for its acquisition is very high for those starting a translator career.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned earlier, it is the most used CAT tool in the translation market, so more than 80% of the projects I manage at work are carried out in Trados. The capability to manage projects both online and offline helps a lot.

  ### 49. Trados is a great tool to work with, simple for one and one project without further education.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guðrún C. E. | Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Trados?**

It is simple to use when doing one and one projects. You don't need to learn much to get started. When you get more experienced with Trados, then you see how the memories can be helpful. The view you are working in is straightforward, and you can work with each sentence step by step.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

I'm not sure I dislike anything, but I would recommend new users to look at the webinars. I have not yet done that myself, but I'm always on my way to do it in order to improve my skills with Trados. I'm sure I could use Trados more efficiently if I knew how to do it, for example, when using terms in different fields.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think the use of memories is the most significant benefit for me—also, the possibility of using different formats and import into the program. And when I
have finished the translation, to export again into the same format, as I imported it from.

  ### 50. SDL Trados Studio Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Trados?**

It is an all-around computer-assisted translation tool with many features. It provides consistency and pace, especially in big translation/localization projects.

**What do you dislike about Trados?**

SLD Trados' interface can be quite complicated, even overwhelming at some points. The translation screen is accompanied by many other side windows that sometimes hinder doing your task.

**What problems is Trados solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SDL Trados' termbase is one of a kind. Depending on the project, you can manually change the termbase preferences and tell the program what to do or what not do with repetitions, fuzzy matches etc.
