**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

Very user friendly behind the scenes, and everything links together really well. As a one-man-band setup, having responsive and dedicated customer service is a lifesaver.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

There have been a few instances where I would have hoped to format things in a slightly different way that the system doesn't allow, but the team have been responsive to hearing that feedback from me.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a new organisation and have a slightly different set up in that we are connected to a school but not directly part of the school. We also only have one employee, who is part time, so we needed a system that was intuitive and easy to work with. Being with Toucan Tech since our launch has allowed us to set up in a smooth and efficient way from the outset, where our website links directly to the donation platform and back into the CRM.

Its backend interface is easy to learn and use, and the support team responds quickly whenever I run into a problem. Because of that, it only took me about 1.5 months to set up the whole website.

Some features are hardcoded, so I have to reach out to the support team for help.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

ToucanTech has allowed us to have a single source of truth for the communities within our foundation, P&F and Alumni. We can quickly view each community member’s profile, see which events they’ve attended, review email communications, and track any donations or gifts they’ve made.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

Throughout the setup, our contacts for design and data are overseas, so we often have to wait a full day for any reply. This makes the whole process feel very slow.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our college is newly creating a philanthropic strategy, and having a solid fundraising CRM to keep track of the pipeline, manage communication for stewardship, and set tasks for upcoming pledge reminders is invaluable for ensuring our fundraising runs smoothly.

The best thing about ToucanTech is that it provides a true one‑stop platform—bringing alumni engagement, communications, events, database management, and fundraising tools together—while offering exceptionally fast, reliable support whenever technical issues arise

Design and customisation options in ToucanTech can be limited, which can restrict more bespoke styling or layout choices. However, ToucanTech is very open to user feedback, and we appreciate their willingness to consider new features. We are also exploring design consult hours to enhance the platform’s look and functionality.

Our overall experience with ToucanTech has been extremely positive. The platform offers a truly one‑stop solution for all aspects of alumni engagement, bringing together communications, event management, database administration, and fundraising tools into one seamless system. This integrated approach has significantly streamlined our work and improved the way we connect with our community.

One of the standout strengths of ToucanTech is the ease of use. The site is intuitive to navigate, making everyday tasks—from sending newsletters to updating records—efficient and straightforward for all team members, regardless of their technical background.

I like how ToucanTech is easy to access via a browser and easy to manage. Setting it up and using it for sending out messages, whether individually or in groups, is straightforward. I'm able to access content from anywhere, and even with my limited technical skills, the setup has been relatively easy. The support from the ToucanTech and data teams has been fantastic. It allows me to manage relationships with people effectively by having all contacts in one place and easily sending out newsletters and posting news articles to build engagement with my organization.

Since 2019, Kellett has been proud to partner with Toucan Tech in what has been a truly rewarding experience. We began by capturing alumni details and donation information on paper forms, later digitizing them into spreadsheets. With the introduction of Toucan Tech, our alumni now have a centralized platform to store and manage this vital information, making access and organization seamless.

Toucan Tech offers an impressive suite of built-in modules, including news, event management, photo galleries, newsletters, general emails, automated system emails, memberships, fundraising, and more. These features have been pivotal in meeting our diverse needs while fostering effective communication and engagement within our community. While the platform may not delve deeply into specific functionalities, it provides a comprehensive range of tools essential for alumni and fundraising activities. **What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

The all-in-one capacity of Toucan Tech is what initially drew us to the service, alongside the excellent customer service. Having a dedicated account manager who works with you every step of the way has been invaluable. All of the team members we have come across have been friendly, supportive and knowledgeable - managing to meet with us from anywhere in the world! We are set to launch our new website, inviting alumni to join our database in a couple of weeks and really looking forward to tracking our progress.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

As the software encompasses so many elements, it can feel overwhelming and frustrating at times. Once you figure out what works for you however it becomes easier and the more you use the software the better.

We previously had no interaction or connection with our past students, parents or staff at all. This system is going to enable us to reconnect and build our database.

Easy to use system, intuitive with lots of support guides available. Our set up is quite complex but the team have been able to work with us to meet all of our requirements.

We have had a very smooth process, no particular downsides. There are integrations that would be useful - but the block to achieving these is not Toucan Tech.

We required a database with different levels of access from different organisations, with separate websites pulling through to one central database.

What I like best about ToucanTech is their support and solution-focused approach. From the very beginning, they have been incredibly responsive and proactive in addressing our needs. The only thing that might be considered a challenge—and it's really more of a reflection on the platform's depth—is that there is a lot to learn when you first get started. However, this isn't necessarily a negative, as it speaks to the robustness and versatility of the system. While it can feel overwhelming at first, ToucanTech's supportive team and resources make the learning process much easier. Once you get familiar with everything, it becomes clear how powerful and beneficial the platform truly is!

ToucanTech has been instrumental in solving the challenge of managing our complex data. Their team provided the extra help and customisation we needed to ensure our data was accurately captured, organised, and utilised. I was part of an organization that used ToucanTech to create an online presence as we created a non-profit association.  

The ToucanTech team has extremely responsive and flexible in helping customers with different level of expertise create a platform.   

Their comprehensive platform covers multiple needs, such as base website, community, CRM, fundraising, e-mail,  etc. all under one platform without needing to integrate multiple providers or have deep technical expertise. 

As my organization was a startup, ToucanTech was very responsive and understanding as our situation evolved.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

ToucanTech's strength is the end to end integration.   While all the functionality may be adequate, I would assume that it is not as flexible as using best of breed solutions for each component of the on-line presence.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

Creating our site with ToucanTech has been incredible for our school community and far exceeded our expectations.  We started with the goal of having a central place for events, news & information, and a way for parents to network.  All of these goals have been met and with better results than anticipated.  The Event function, probably our most used, has brought our community together so that our events are more discoverable and inclusive.  The quantity of events, type and number of participants have all increased.  For news and photo/video galleries, our site has lessened our reliance on email and allowed us to share more and have a central place for parents to search for anything they may have missed in newsletters (so much better than searching through emails).  We have also expanded our offering of parent interest groups, allowing parents to take the initiative to create and manage groups on their own.  This has been really fun and helped to create the “close-knit” community we hoped to build.  Another great function has been networking – great for parents, but also great for our high school students looking for guidance about universities and career paths. It feels like the sky is the limit!

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

There are a lot of functions the site has to offer that we have not yet fully explored & mastered.  Our plan was to start slowly and then expand, but the lure of all of the features and potential positive impact for our community led us to take on a lot all at once.  We are still finding our way with managing content, and I think we will have a better plan in place for our 2nd year.  Our first year was amazing, but we just made it up as we went along.  Next year we’ll be more organized in our approach.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ToucanTech has allowed us to create a central point of communication for our community.  Parents can go there for news, photo galleries, events, and resources as well as to connect and network with other parents and also to join parent-led clubs for activities such as hiking local trails, ladies' lunches, triathlon training, books clubs, classes, and activities.  Before we had the site, we had disjointed communication  - the school sent newsletters and updates via email, the parents association used the class WhatsApp groups, and many parents relied on friends or Facebook groups for local information and recommendation.  Via our ToucanTech community site, we now have a safe, cohesive place to communicate and connect.  It's helped to build the community we hoped for.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

Their customer support is outstanding. We picked ToucanTech because of their functionality: comms, database, events, fundraising/donor management, membership management and website...all in one.  We are staying with them because of how easy and painless implementation was and how helpful and responsive their customer support is.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

I don't think there is anything I dislike strongly about ToucanTech.  Of course no software can do everything well -- so there have been things that we have been stuck on, but we've worked with ToucanTech support to either find a workaround in (or outside of) ToucanTech.

I know that some folks might think the design of the website is limiting, but I would respond to hire a better graphic designer.  Our site is in ToucanTech and our designer was able to learn the system quickly and work within it to create a beautifully designed site.  We are an association of designers, so design matters to us.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our data in one place.  We needed a new website and we didn't want to our member data in multiple places (CRM and website).  Also the filtering capabilities is tremendous and its easy connection to comms means you can start segmenting audiences immediately.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

I have been very happy with Toucan Tech.  We were with Donor Strategy and we were looking for an alternative fundraising database.  What I like the most about Toucan Tech is that you get a database and an online community to engage with your alumni.  We launched ours just as COVID hit and it proved a very useful way to connect with our alumni during a difficult time when in person events were not possible.
I also like the fact that Toucan Tech is very intuitive and easy to navigate with many great features including an online business directory, forum, events, and news features.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

I haven't got any dislikes. It all works well.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are building our connections with our alumni over time.  We can see that we are engaging with them and that they are enjoying reading our news features, etc.

ToucanTech software is intuitive and straightforward to use. I was able to get up and running quickly with minimal tuition and start making a difference for my business from day 1. The support team at ToucanTech is very approachable and answered any queries quickly, even out of hours. The customised email feature with various templates and filters helped me personalise and maximise the impact of each communication. New features are being developed continuously.

Initially, I experienced some minor limitations to customised layout and image display which were quickly and proactively fixed by the ToucanTech support team.

As a small organisation we have limited-resources and ToucanTech helps us grow and maintain an engaged online supporter base which ultimately generates income and supports organisational sustainability

It allows us to showcase the many wonderful things happening in our school via photo galleries, videos, news stories, and more in a secure way. We also intend to utilize the business directory as our parents are more than keen to connect with each other.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

Nothing that I dislike. As is the case with everything, it is important to put time into learning the system and optimizing it. The support team is pushing us to do this and helping.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were previously using the Parent Portal feature on iSAMS (school information system) to communicate with parents. It wasn't designed for that and is merely transactional (e.g. get grades, get test scores, get invoices). Toucantech allows for engagement.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

Toucantech helps us offer a great user experience for our parent community. There, they can find useful information, news articles, necessary resources and connect with other families from the school.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

Sometimes it's hard to detect if a person who wants to join is really part of the community or not. I understand we need to double check users for security reasons but it would be great to have an automatic approval for parents who previously were in our database.

Toucantech is helping us connecting parents with the school and letting us provide a complete experience when it comes to communication, with events advertising and spreading the word about important school news.

The Toucan Tech customer support is very good - the team are friendly and proactive and they will push you to do more and more with your system.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

I'd love it to be easier to find demos and 'How Tos' in the support knowledge base but that's a minor gripe as the customer support team are very helpful.
The system can seem a little limiting at first (it's not like content management systems like WordPress or Umbraco) but it really doesn't take long to get to grips with the tech and you can add content, send emails and run events all under the one hood.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Toucan Tech is helping us connect our former pupils, no matter where they are in the world. Email system is really easy to use. Customer service and training is excellent.

My budget is small and sadly ToucanTech takes up most of it, however competitors are very similarly priced.

Helped to set up a formal careers network. Helps us to support current students take their first steps in the 'real world'. Also helps with communication and segmentation of our Alumni base. Also really helps with event management and ticket sales.

**What do you like best about ToucanTech?**

We are finding the Toucan Tech team an absolute joy to deal with. They know their stuff and are incredibly responsive and customer-focussed. I couldn't be happier that we have made the switch.

Having everything integrated in one system has radically improved our working processes. I have a very small team and reducing our admin load means we can spend more of our time doing the really important stuff like meeting donors and creating inspiring campaigns - which is also what we enjoy most.

**What do you dislike about ToucanTech?**

Not a downside exactly, but be aware that you will need to individually check every user who requests an online account, so make sure you launch your website at a time when you have sufficient staff capacity.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event bookings are so much simpler. It's literally one click for users to register for most events. The way data is transferred from our other school system is also significantly more secure and less bureaucratic than previously.

ToucanTech offers an impressive suite of well-designed interactive features, all in one easy to use customisable online platform which was not on offert from competitors.

I am struggling to write something here. If there was one thing it could be improved and I believe is being worked on, it is the provision of additional functionalities on the mobile app.

ToucanTech has enabled us to consolidate multiple digital offerings and strengthen our alumni engagement opportunities for maximum effect. It has definitely resulted in improved performance for our association.

Easy to navigate and a very helpful team when you do have questions or need support.

Was confusing at first.  Not as obvious at the very beginning of the process but that was more my fault than theirs and their support was very helpful in getting me started.

They have been very helpful in teaching me how to do reports that I have been struggling with.  This has enabled me to provide reports to the board I've had difficulty providing using another database.

The user interface is very user-friendly and intuitive, and when you do need suppport, responses are always quite speedy.

Sometimes the filters can be a little clunky to use, but this is a very minor issue, and with practice they are quite easy to get used to.

**What problems is ToucanTech solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is very easy to store changes to contact details and consent options, and to make sure that mailing lists follow these, which makes it easy to follow GDPR.
