Once you start using Central Identify Management like Okta the functional overlap starts increasing, especially with respect to offboarding workflows.

I love that Torii gives us insight into the various programs we use and how much they cost or how they are billed. This is very important to be able to understand cost usage and understand what programs are used.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

It's not always easy to understand the cost breakdown per software as it is not always presented in the same format.

Torii helps me understand how much it costs per employee to maintain each software they are granted access to.

Nothing I dislike as of now, just that I cant change the App Catalog URL without Toriis interventions.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

1. Torii is trying to address the really difficult problem, they understand the struggles of controlling software sprawl, and the system has an incredible number of bells and whistles that allow IT admins and Finance be proactive about licenses, renewals and employee life cycle management. 
2. I love the multiple slicing / dicing capabilities: you can get very convenient views on which users use which software, software by the frequency of use, by cost. Torii will highlight software with overlapping capabilities. 
3. Offboarding/onboarding workflows are very promising
4. I love the 'employee app shop' feature
5. So far the customer service has been phenomenal. They listen to us and get to the bottom of the problem. Everyone we've worked with so far is incredibly intelligent and understands the issues we are describing
6. I really like the contract management module, even though you need to populate it manually and maintain it, it is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

1. The problem Torii is trying to solve is incredibly difficult: is LinkedIn a software, or just a website? What about Indeed? Loom, Grammarly? I think Torii is doing a fantastic job at something that is not very easy to begin with, and because of that, there's still work to do before it's perfect
2. For expenses, Torii seems to get confused by cash versus accruals, even though we worked with the support team, and they fixed it. It also sometimes confuses payment tools  (Spendesk) with a vendor, as if Spendesk was the actual vendor. But that brings us back to point 1.. 
3. One other issue for us specifically is that we have 2 entities, and the European entity uses accounting software that doesn't integrate with Torii. For this reason, we don't have the same visiblity on software expenses there. You can plug that manually, though
4. To get most value out of Torii, there is a lot of manual work to do. However, the alternative is calendar reminders, which is worse, so I still think it's very helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering Torii:**

You should give it a go, very useful tool albeit pricey

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to get quick, 70 to 80% accurate answers to questions like what software teams are using, and which team members have which licenses. It helps us manage software renewals (we are alerted well ahead of the renewals and can start conversations early). It's easy to see who owns which app all in one place. 

it's also a big help for compliance since we can vet apps before they are installed

The workflows in Torii and the app insight that is not correct (except for the systems that have the recommendation tab, which is only 5)

The knowledge of which apps a user has is still active after offboarding.
Remembering to renew contracts on time.
A place that is concentrated for all Ops for contract DB.
Remove the license for Jetbrains when a user is off-boarded.

Torii helps keep our environment clean of old accounts which in turn both saves costs, and keeps our systems secure.

UI can use a dark mode to help reduce eye strain.

Absolutely consider using Torii to not just manage your SaaS but also automate actions.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to keep our SaaS stack tight and under control. Other benefits include being able to set up account inactivity to prevent ghost permissions and license costs.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

The ability to automate off-boarding, onboarding and much more is fantastic. Many repetitive and ominous tasks have now been taken away from our IT support team which frees up time for them to provide a better user experience.

One of my favourite features is being able to select an app and then bulk run actions through filters on the users. For example I will make a new automation to put people with a certain job title or department into a group. To pull everybody in who already fits the criteria it's as simple as setting the filter, selecting all users and running the action. It makes everything very smooth and easy to deal with.

The overview of how many users are using particular platforms is very helpful, this assists us with budget planning and financial forecasting as well as full visibility on what our end users are accessing.

The Torii team are always so helpful with bringing in new integrations and features, which is fantastic for a rapidly growing startup like ourselves.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

One of the things that I dislike is that the automated emails always have Torii branding, I would prefer to have our company branding on them as our users sometimes don't trust what they receive. This ends up causing us to have to reach out to users who have been sent in their login instructions then reset their passwords as they expire before we realise that they've ignored it or that it went to their junk mail.

**Recommendations to others considering Torii:**

If you are spending a lot of time configuring items for users manually, or worrying about unused software licences then Torii is a great tool for you.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are many topics that we are solving with Torii at the moment, mainly around more features for the SaaS that we have it connected to. Recently we introduced a new process where a set group of employees receive 1Password access and to be added to specific groups. 

The Torii team were incredibly helpful and guided us through exactly what we needed to do in order to get this live by setting up the workflow with the correct parameters and utilising the application actions.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

Torii has helped us identify the tools that are essential to the team and the ones that we can do without. It's given us better insight into the costs that pop up on a departmental level. It's also helped us automate a lot of the onboarding process for new employees, saving my team a significant amount of time so they can work on tasks that improve our IT as opposed to being stuck doing the repetitive tasks that always come up.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

I will preface this with I do think the Torii team is doing great work in adding new integrations all the time and have been super helpful when we have any questions with custom integrations. However, while custom integrations are a powerful feature to have, there is a steep learning curve in implementing one.  Marketplace integrations work great when available, but there are still plenty of tools where you need to rely on a custom one, and it's impossible to think Torii will have one for every service out there. If there is a way to make it simpler, it'd be much appricated!

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problems we were trying to solve were gaining insight into the tools being used by our team that we might not know about and the other was trying to automate the management of access to all the tools employees would need throughout the company. So far we've gained a great deal of insight into the tools and have been slowly working through who owns which, and evaluating which are needed or removed from our systems. On the onboarding side, it's made it easier to ensure people have the access they need when they start.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

Having trialled the main players in this field (G2 Track, Blissfully, Intello), we found Torii to be the most well rounded and useful tool. 

Torii gives an immediate insight into the organisation's SaaS usage - who's using what, what you're spending, and then helps you track which apps you've approved and what you haven't. It's pretty amazing to discover all the apps employees are using that you didn't know about. The interface is generally very clear and easy to use. There are quite a lot of integrations, possibilities to use the API with 3rd party systems such as Jira, and link to your HR system to automate creation of accounts, for example. 

There's a nice Slack integration that notifies you of every time a new app is discovered.

The application catalogue is useful for staff to see what apps are approved for use in the business.

Reporting is via CSV file - although it would be nice if some of the reports were more visual and web-based.

The customer success and support teams are stellar - they are proactive and go out of their way to help you implement and configure the tool, and they are very receptive to feedback and feature requests. They issue frequent updates and have great release notes. 

All in all we find Torii useful and would definitely recommend taking a look.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

It's not cheap. To get value from Torii requires you to invest a fair bit of time in setup and maintenance, and to really integrate it into your processes. It would be nice if it gave more info about each app - eg security compliance and certifications, alerts about incidents - although you can populate this yourself in custom fields.

There are a few areas where they could make things simpler - for example if your accounting system is not supported (eg Xero) you have to manually export and upload the transactions. 

The onboarding workflows lack some features to make them really useful - for example tracking of completion of tasks (by comparison the offboarding function does have this), and an audit log that can be used for compliance purposes. Sounds like this and a lot more are on their roadmap though.

Like all of these tools, it pulls a lot of information about which apps you're using from your identity provider(s), and via direct integrations. To get closer to a complete picture of every app that's in use, you need to deploy the browser extensions to track user logins  (and there's not one available for Safari). So you'll want to make sure you have an MDM system and can enforce this to some degree.

Discovery of SaaS apps in use of the business, giving us the ability to assess then and approve or disallow it's usage. It helps see usage at a glance across many tools rather than having to log into each individually.

The ease of use and available features. Things such as the discovery agent have saved us hours of manual effort! Additionally, the workflows have standardised our onboarding and offboarding globally.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

Nothing to dislike per se, there are some improvement points however. Sections such as the permissions settings could use a bit of love in terms of increasing capability to granulate the permissions for different departments.

**Recommendations to others considering Torii:**

Make sure to utilize wach feature to its maximum capacity. The benefits are not realized until doing so.

Insantly, we were able to identify the most used applications and focus in reducing lur costs. Furthermore, we have saved thousands of hours through the offboarding trigger from Torii!

Ability to have all your tools tracked at a glance, with graphs and other information that allow you to know how much you are spending for each one of them. Ability to review new untracked tools being used in the company.

Could be modified to cover other non-SaaS solutions and providers used by the company.

Love that we're able to pull almost all of the applications our team uses automatically, that we can sync with our accounting software, and add tools that don't get auto pulled manually into the system.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

Because of how the applications are pulled, and the size of our team, we do have a hard time filtering down into the apps we really need to pay attention to. Our team has almost 900 apps in Torii.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

Torii has helped up at TCGplayer reduce spending via offboarding and license discovery - the "magic sauce" of application discovery has also really come in handy finding unapproved or unvetted applications inside the company - great for both your security and AP teams. Torii's support is also agile and moves with us - very much not not "opinionated support" - if an upstream issue is found Torii helps resolve the issue first and works with the upstream provider to solve the issue.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

As with many companies I wish their documentation was a bit more straightforward - a readthedocs or simple markup KB would be preferable to those more technical than the more normalized KB pages included. Thankfully most integrations are very straightfoward to understand.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

License discovery and tracking, its ability to help manage end-user licenses on non-SCIM enabled applications. Great support reps who make it easy to onboard/offboard and aren't overly pushy.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

Torii very closely aligns with TigerConnect's approach to SaaS Management with native integrations and pre-built workflows. Our CSM is excellent about keeping us up to date on new features.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

Our expense integration with NetSuite isn't perfectly synced and sometimes have to rely on manually entering costs, but Torii is still overall a very useful tool for expense management.

**Recommendations to others considering Torii:**

If you are new to SaaS management, I highly recommend getting a demo and seeing if the native integrations align with your business.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have streamlined our offboarding workflow; any apps that don't support SCIM are handled by Torii, either through API or delegated emails. Torii's expense management tools also mean spending less on unused licenses.

Torii is so useful when it comes to understanding who is using which platforms, how much overlap we have between similar tools, and simplifying how we onboard and offboard employees.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

It would be nice if there was a function where one could search for a potential tool and see if our company is already using any similar tools instead of paying for another tool.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Torii, we're solving the problem of "what platforms, tools, and licenses are unused or under-utilized that we're still paying for". We've already been able to reduce spend on tools we don't use, and reduce licenses for tools that only need a certain number of users.

For sure  one of the best feature is to be able to know who's connecting with which SaaS that it's fundamental to have control in the company of who's using what, then workflows are amazing to automate Onboarding and offborading

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

Torii it's pretty nice and has already a lot but some SaaS don't have easy integration, especially services with multi-factor authentication like 1Password is not possible to set up a read and write

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly tracking track of:
- SSO logins with Google users do with our work domain
- monthly licenses cost and amount of licenses in use 
- Workflow for Offboarding users and enrolling them

So many things are identified that it is difficult to track what applications are critical and what are just free tools that clutter the data.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

The best feature is the overview of the licenses and how many users actually use them. It is based on the Google and Azure SSO as well as the browser extension that we deployed with the MDM. It allows us to see which licenses we can take back to save the cost.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

While Torii allows for the automation and making custom HTTP calls, there is no way (as of now) to make multiple-step calls, hence if there must be an authorization before the action or a call to lookup a specific ID of the user, Torii wouldn't handle that. While this does not cause a lot of trouble for us, we would like to see that functionality to better facilitate the tool.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main feature we're trying to use is the offboarding automation, engaging different stakeholders to do their job with the approval flow. 
Another big topic is an overview of the SaaS application, its owners, and the associated cost that allows us to better distribute the licenses across the org users.

**What do you like best about Torii?**

Torii has an easy to use interface, which makes finding information very quick and easy.  The auto-discovery of SAAS logins and apps is the secret sauce however, making it a system that requires little maintenance from IT but still has a high level of accuracy.  We rely on it for on and off boarding processes regularly.

**What do you dislike about Torii?**

There is very little to Torii that we don't like.  Nothing springs to mind, except for my lack of time to use more of the features available beyond what we currently rely on.

**What problems is Torii solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We rely on Torii to discover new SAAS and cloud apps our employees sign up for on their own.  We have been able to consolidate software spending single payments with vendors and almost eliminated users signing up and expensing apps/services themselves.  We also rely on Torii to assist with off boarding, since the app catalog is accurate.  It's our source of truth for app ownership.

Torii is incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate. I recently joined the team (never having used Torii before) and was able to learn everything very quickly. The usability also provides a huge benefit for providing reports to our finance and leadership teams.

The auto-save feature has it's benefits, but when changes are made it would be nice to have the option to revert to the previous state. As it is now, it can be challenging to replicate previous configuration settings from memory.

We rely on Torii for reporting SaaS spending, license management, offboarding progress, and detecting unmanaged apps/services across our domain. I never want to go back to tracking that information manually!

I would love to incorporate our Source of Truth fields myself. It would be great if this could be made possible. But Torii is always speedy at that, so there are no restrictions for us.

Small things just seem missing from a modern platform. Deep Slack integration is a big one, but also just the ability to retry or do actions backwards in time is lacking.
