Create complex interfaces quickly
- table widget - display tabular data, filter, free-text-search, server side filtering, pagination
- focus only on business logic - you don't need to write bolierplate frontend code, no HTML, no CSS.
- Javascript or Python to code all of your business logic quicly
- builtin editor for easy development
- Slack community support, small, but helpful community
- You can even use it to create simple landing pages
- Self hosted - dockerized image, you can run it beside your database server
- Integrate with various databases and APIs - I only use it with a custom-tailored REST API, but you can connect to lot of databases directly as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- built on top of react, sometimes gets slow - use pagination for displaying larger datasets
- table widget crashes sometimes, but usually because error in my javascript code
- For the time being the easy-to-use Cloud only hosted in us-east-1. If you're data center / database in Europe, inteface will be slower, as latency is high. However, I talked with some folks from Tooljet, and they are planning to deploy the cloud service in multiple regions in the future. For now, you can self-host. The best thing is that I was able to connect my primary datasource quickly, and write some queries that I'm already familiar with and pull the data to a table without writing any code! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the editor becomes unresponsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. Its open-source. Our organization was on the lookout for open source tools as we didn't want to be locked into a particular vendor.
2. It is very developer friendly and has a minimal learning curve for any developers who are familiar with any javascript framework.
3. Its extensible. If tooljet doesn't have any built in feature, there is an option to write custom javascript (or python) to achieve any logical requirements. Similarly the option to add custom react components is massive plus in case I require complicated UI elements.
4. Easy to integrate with existing APIs, database and other tools.
5. My favourite part about tooljet and why we choose it from among its competitors is the quick support from the team. Even though we are using the community edition , we get detailed and quick support. This seperates tooljet from its competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Even though I understand low code tools are a huge piece of software and performance can sometimes take a hit , this is something if possible can be improved. I sometimes face minor perfomance issues in the builder when large amount of data is loaded. I am sure this can be improved if I run better hardware so there is a possibility that its my hardware
2. I am nitpicking here , and not exactly a drawback, initally when i wanted to test it out i had figure out how to set the whole thing up (which is expected for production use cases ). Some competitors had a docker run command which included the database. It was primary meant to test out locally and hence easy to dispose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's open-source
Has a license based on the number of apps, not users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No UI elements change height based on text content, such as a chat
Modifying UI parts is tricky. To do it, you need to handle JavaScript tasks or React Components individually Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
