What do you like best about Toolbag?

Where to begin? The new Toolbag 4 is powerful beyond anything currently available in the industry. Originally used as a presentation tool, Toolbag 4 offers a full texturing suite that integrates directly into your scene and allows you to adjust anything and everything in real-time. When you're ready to render out that final presentation, Toolbag has everything loaded and set, and you need to tweak your settings to your desired values. It even supports animation for an improved presentation experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

The lack of standard materials, especially Smart Materials, is kind of disappointing. Given how new Toolbag 4 is, though, I imagine that won't be the case forever. There are also some performance issues with more significant scenes, but I believe performance improvements are also on the horizon. Overall, there is very little to dislike about the new Toolbag. What do you like best about Toolbag?

Marmoset is a beautiful, industry standard renderer! More than that, it has the most intuitive UI i've seen in a 3d program to date. I started using it in 1 day without any tutorials, and it gave me lovely results. I would definitely recommend it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

I had a big problem rendering transparencies in this program. My hair cards looked really bad, along with some transparent clothing I was trying to make... Other renderers seem to do better with transparencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toolbag?

Marmoset easily and simply displays models, textures, materials and animations. It has user-friendly interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

It doesn't support UDIMs so I have to setup materials for every UDIM tile(placing UV to 0-1 uv space). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toolbag?

What I like the most about toolbag is how fast you get results with little effort. You can display models and setup lights with ease so you can see the render as you move things around.

If you have animation attached to your model you can play it as well.

The price is quite accessible and it's being updated constantly with new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

It needs a way to save the camera position so you can switch between shots (might be implemented soon).

Since its a GPU renderer it requires a very good graphic card with at least 2gb memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Toolbag?

Great and easy application for game art visualization. It allows for the importing of models, application of textures and lighting for presentation. I enjoy its integration of PBR, but currently each engine processes PBR differently so it is a little tricky when texturing from that aspect. Marmoset 3 also now supports animation again and has a more robust lighting engine. As well allows you to export your scene to upload to view on other sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

Some times the application doesn't auto reload texture or model information. And the new lighting engine is a bit wonky sometimes, but i feel that might be due to the scale of models etc. The application price is a bit on the higher side, but catching it during a sell is well worth it. What do you like best about Toolbag?

Its ability to produce high rez images and show reels of 3D created models. It has a great range of pre-lit areas with a range of backgrounds that really make models pop out as well as offering plain backgrounds for clay renders. You also have the option of adding in your own lights and skybox and saving them as pre-sets allowing for multiple shots of the same scene to be produced quickly and professionally. You can also import textures with your models so your'e not limited to just seeing the mesh. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Toolbag?

Its interface is not the most user friendly or easily accessible, leaving you to either take your time learning it or sourcing tutorials. It could also benefit from a better way of creating turntable videos. As on first launch there is no kind of welcome tutorial or a basic guide on how to use each feature or what each feature does. Some of the menus are very small and hidden away in smaller windows in different sides of teh program too wich can be confusing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
