What do you like best about TMS Suite?

Interface is organized in a straightforward manner. The system allows one to input accession numbers, descriptions of the object, condition reports for the object with different dates, an identifying image or two of the object, and its location within the collections. A great starter database for those just making their ways into the museum field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TMS Suite?

Searches with accession numbers may be a little bit frustrating, but all it takes is a little bit of extra effort to become accustomed to the system. If I recall, there were some spaces for information for which I did not know what information was required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TMS Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

It provides a clear way to organize the museum's collection, as well as the perfect key to find objects when it is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TMS Suite?

The Museum System offers a user-friendly interface that lets users easily catalog new acquisitions, upload photos, record locations, and write notes. What I like the best about TMS are the reports that Gallery Systems have made publicly available. For a small museum without an IT staff, having those reports available allows my team to export data in a number of helpful ways. I also absolutely love the free Webinars TMS provides that helps users fully explore how to use TMS to its full potential. Gallery System's technical support is also top-notch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TMS Suite?

What I dislike about my version of TMS is that the search function can be a bit cumbersome when you are doing many searches at a time. I wish that TMS could save and auto-populate the field entries of the last search that was done. I also dislike that licenses are pricey and that limits the number of my coworkers that can be on the database at the same time. TMS is also sometimes a bit slow and laggy, but I mostly attribute that to my older operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering TMS Suite:

Consider the size and scope of your collection and what you require the most in a database. Do you have mid-size to large institution with a diverse collection? Then TMS could be quite suitable for you. Even if you have a small staff or minimal in-house IT support, the team at TMS is incredibly helpful and supportive. If your collection is smaller, such as under 10,000 items, or if your institution is not actively collecting, you may want to consider an lower cost alternative. What problems is TMS Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Problems solving: Staff-access to museum collections. Greatly helps staff research our collection. Benefits: I can very easily sift through collections through a variety of views like so I can easily recognize the item I am looking for in a query by recognizing the image in Lightbox View, or seeing who a particular constituent is in List View.
