tl;dv Pros and Cons

What stands out most about tl;dv is its seamless functionality. I can go from meetings to having customized notes without any extra effort, followed by a weekly summary that keeps everything organized. The ability to search across all meetings for specific mentions is a game-changer, making it easy to track key discussions. On top of that, the integration with my CRM ensures that all communication is automatically synced with the relevant contacts—no manual input needed. The support question I had was answered by the co-founder Carlo very quickly and effectively. In addition, starting to use it wihth non technical people is a breeze. It’s an invaluable tool for both fundraising and operations in a nonprofit setting, saving an incredible amount of time. We use it on every meeting!

I’ve been using TL;DV for a while now after evaluating many options, and even though I started with the free plan, I recently upgraded to the paid plan, and the difference is fascinating. Since I work in market research, it’s incredibly useful for capturing insights from interviews and analyzing the transcripts in detail, which are flawless—even in different languages (I’ve tested it in Spanish, English, English with people from the Middle East, and English with people from India). There aren’t any major dislikes about tl;dv, but there’s always room for improvement. For example, the interface could better support uploading multiple recordings at once and clarify the difference between uploading and processing statuses. I really enjoy using it, compared to other notetakers, as it allows you to choose: whether to reccord or not at each call, when to start recording, who it'll be shared to... which is important to remain in control of, IMO, especially in my consulting business where what's said during calls is literally what I'm paid for. TL;DV has been a lifesaver for me, especially as someone with ADHD. Let’s be real—focusing during meetings and keeping track of every little detail is not exactly our strong suit. My biggest gripe? Sometimes the note-taker bot doesn’t show up in meetings when I’m using the free version. It’s honestly frustrating because you’re sitting there, expecting it to do its thing, and then—nothing. I get that the free version might have limitations, but reliability really shouldn’t be one of them. If TL;DV could guarantee that the bot always joins meetings, even if they cut back on some of the more advanced free features, I think that would be a game-changer. The integration is seamless and the product is set up pretty much as soon as you login the first time. The recording accurately tracks who speaks, the app supports multiple languages, and it's super easy to use. You can simply login to your admin and ask questions about your meetings to understand what customers want accross different meetings, how the meeting itself went based on stats, etc.

I try to use it as often as I can, and if the person I speak with doesn't want a recording, it's super easy to pause or turn off. The tl;dv customer team is quick to reply to inquiries about future features, and I assume that in the event of any bug or trouble using the system, they'd be just as fast; I simply haven't had any problems. The summary of notes is pretty good, and as the technology improves, they will only get better. One of my favourite pieces of functionality is the "to-do list" summary they send it at the end of the day. Very, very handy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The meeting minutes are pretty good. However, the technology still misses context once in a while. Therefore, you have to read through the notes to ensure they accurately reflect the intent of the discussion. I wonder if there is a way to provide more context to meetings, generally, so the notes have that information and are, therefore more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
