**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

What I like most about Tipalti is how much it has simplified and organized our processes. The vendor portal is a huge help – vendors can manage their own banking details and submit tax forms, reducing our team's administrative burden and the errors caused by manual updates. The ability to implement controls like TIN verification and approval workflows has also made our processes much tighter and more secure. Features like email approvals for bills are super convenient and save a lot of time. Being able to handle multiple entities and manage AP across them in a single system has been another big positive for us.

Tipalti has also enabled us to process invoices faster and keep payments on time, which keeps our vendors happy. Having everything integrated seamlessly with NetSuite made the transition easier, and it’s been great to have both AP automation and mass payout capabilities in one solution. It’s not perfect – there are some limitations with reporting – but overall, it’s been a huge improvement for our workflows.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

One area where Tipalti could continue to improve is in reporting and visibility into invoice activity, as well as team-level tracking. We’ve also found that some tax form updates require additional support. While these haven’t been major blockers, enhanced self-service capabilities would make the experience even smoother.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti helps us manage vendor payments, invoice processing, and compliance across multiple entities, reducing manual work and errors. The vendor portal and automated TIN verification ensure security and accuracy, while faster invoice processing keeps our payments on time. It’s also helped streamline approvals and integrate smoothly with NetSuite. **What do you like best about Tipalti?**

The biggest upside Tipalti has offered is its standard OCR service. Having bills automatically read and coded has allowed our AP team to maintain our current headcount while more than doubling the number of bills processed. Beyond that, Tipalti Card and Tipalti Expenses have also been very helpful in automating some of our previously manual workflows.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

We ultimately chose Tipalti because it lets us make prepayments to certain vendors, which essentially creates a “wallet” of funds that can be applied against specific purchase orders. This is very helpful, but Tipalti also effectively “locks” the purchase order coming from our ERP (NetSuite). Once a prepayment is made on a PO, the Tipalti system only allows those funds to be applied to bills tied to that same PO. If the PO changes, some manual accounting is required to correct things on the Tipalti side—for example, moving any unused prepayment funds to the right place.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two main problems were solved for us. First was headcount: Tipalti has allowed us to greatly increase our bill volume without increasing headcount. Second, it has helped strengthen our control environment by making it much easier to capture bill approvals and payment approvers.

Tipalti is a wonderful platform that helps streamline our entire AP process. Onboarding was super easy, and the team was great to work with throughout. The integration log between Tipalti and the ERP we use is also simple to monitor, which makes troubleshooting a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

Tipalti does leverage some AI in its reporting area, but I think the tool would improve a lot with more saved report options that are easy to adjust and modify as needed.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti helps reduce the risk of human error and cuts down on duplicated work. It makes paying vendors really easy, and I especially like that the onboarding process keeps all the necessary AP steps in one place.

**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

Tipalti has been a great asset to our AP processes. One of the most valuable aspects is the ability to manage invoices and payments within a single platform, which eliminates the need to navigate multiple systems. It significantly improved our AP efficiency and visibility.

The flexibility to manually process bills and execute external payments, particularly for international vendors, has also been critical in supporting our global operations.

Customer support has been another highlight. The team is responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in following up on support tickets. Having dedicated contacts like Ha and Alan has streamlined communication and ensured timely resolution of issues, including more complex cases such as duplicate sync errors with NetSuite.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

There are still a few areas where the experience could be further enhanced. At times, the OCR functionality does not accurately capture invoice details, particularly for invoices in foreign languages, which requires manual intervention. Improving accuracy and reduce manual input is still expected

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti has helped us centralize and streamline our accounts payable processes. It has made the accrual process more reliable and simplified vendor payments and tax compliance, particularly through the AP Hub and automated reporting tools. **What do you like best about Tipalti?**

I really appreciated how Tipalti helped during the implementation process by holding our hand and walking us through configuring the program the way we wanted. The PO module is pretty easy to use, and we were able to train all of our employees on it. I like that their production team is always updating the program based on suggestions, which shows they listen to feedback. The support team is responsive and helps me when I need it. I also like the reporting options they provide since they make it easier for me to create an accrual. The initial setup was very easy with help from an implementation team and manager who were always available to us.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

They've recently changed the PO system, and it's hard for me to tell what is the balance left over available on a PO.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti solved our API integration issues, eliminating the need for manual CSV uploads and keeping our financials current. It also simplifies setting up new vendors, requiring entry only once while handling TIN checks and obtaining documents.

**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

Tipalti's Mass Payments tool has helped us streamline the monthly royalty payments we make to thousands of music artists around the world. Prior to integrating with Tipalti, our team spent a significant amount of time processing these payments manually - from collecting payment details and tax forms to processing payments and tracking balances. But since integrating with Tipalti via an in-product experience (a simple developer set-up via APIs and iFrames), users are able to directly manage their payment methods and tax forms, saving our team hours of work and getting the royalty payments paid out to our users more quickly. Their team is always incredibly supportive, proactively engaging with our company for cross-marketing opportunities and easy to work with should we run into any product issues or questions. Overall, we're so glad to be working with Tipalti!

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

So far, we haven’t had any issues using Tipalti as our mass payments solution.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti has transformed how we handle our music artist royalty payments. Previously, manual payment processes created a hard ceiling on how many artists we could work with as it was a significant bottleneck to growth - we needed to solve the problem of paying artists at scale in order to scale our user base. By integrating Tipalti's mass payments experience directly in our users' dashboard, with the direct iFrame & API integration, and auto-syncing the bills and payees with QuickBooks, we've been able to automate our payments experience and eliminate the bottlenecks entirely. Overall, this integration has allowed us to confidently scale our artist network globally, paying artists accurately and on time regardless of payment type or location. Working with Tipalti hasn't just improved efficiency, it's fundamentally unlocked new growth opportunities for our business.

**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

Having worked with a few payout providers, the key trait that stands out to me is Tipalti's unwavering commitment to helping their customers. I receive quick responses from their basic support team, and for more escalated matters, my appointed account manager, and sometimes even the CEO (!) have jumped into a discussion with me. Working in tech, I expect problems to happen from time to time. But the speed at which the entire Tipalti team works to provide answers and clear solutions makes all the difference. It's a horrible customer experience when you're trying to work with your payout provider and they seem disconnected and disingenuous to provide a solution. Tipalti is the opposite of that. I feel like they invest in our company, and they receive my customer loyalty in return.

I think Tipalti is also pretty easy to use once you get the hang of the internal vernacular and formatting, unlike with some programs that still don't feel very instinctual after learning the basics. I have used Tipalti daily for almost 5 years at this time and feel quite familiar with the software.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

There are some more complex payout rules I'd like to incorporate into our payout routine which is not yet possible. In a perfect world Tipalti could do pay-ins and payouts, so I wouldn't need another PSP for this, but maybe one day.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My Company falls under marketplace and regulations within the last few years has made it difficult to move all of our payouts through Tipalti anymore. However, I know their team is actively researching these regulations to look for solutions on our behalf.

The platform lets me pay all five of my entities in a single workflow across multiple currencies, which has been a major efficiency gain. It’s also very easy to use, with a clear, intuitive interface that makes day-to-day payment processing simpler and more streamlined.

At times, the server speed is slow, which can affect efficiency when processing payments or moving between modules. The PO process also feels a bit clunky and often requires workarounds, making it more time-consuming than it should be.

we used to have a system that was only web based and I would have to take a picture from my phone and sent it to my email and then download it to my computer and then upload to the website. took forever. not I can scan receipts as I get them instead of waiting till I get to the hotel and perhaps lose it. so saving time and money.

The best part of Tipalti is that I can load all receipts on my phone at the time I receive them.  Receipts never get lost and are stored on my phone for safekeeping.

UX is good and relatively easy to understand, even for first time users. Approvers seem to like the platform. The ability to adjust approval flows ad-hoc is a real bonus as this is not a common feature for competitors on the market.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

Currently restricted to accounts payable functionality only and would prefer if the solution also addressed virtual cards and physical cards. Would also prefer if they operated via data rails and payments were taken directly from bank, rather than via their wallet - Airbases for example operate over data rails.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplifies the invoice approval process and allows us to build in more granular approval flows, where we didn't have them before.

What I like best about Tipalti is how it streamlines the entire payables process in one platform. It automates vendor onboarding, tax form collection, approvals, and global payments, which significantly reduces manual work and errors. I also appreciate its strong compliance features, real-time visibility into payment status, and seamless integrations with accounting systems—these make month-end close and audits much more efficient.

What I dislike about Tipalti is that it can feel complex and not very intuitive, especially for new users. Some workflows require multiple steps, which can slow things down for simple tasks. Customization options are also somewhat limited, and certain reports or configurations require support assistance. Additionally, processing times and system lag can occasionally be an issue, and troubleshooting errors isn’t always straightforward.

I wish there were dynamic approvals. For example, when multiple people need to approve an invoice, I’d prefer it didn’t require a strict, sequential approval chain. Instead, it should allow approval from any of the designated approvers at any time.

We are now integrating Vendor invoices and payments using OCR and this feature will be extremely useful and helpful in decreasing our daily workload. Cutting down on having to call to verify bank details as vendors enter their own details. Very excited for this.

There should be a way to select multiple bills within the Payee profile screen for that one payee instead of having to go to the Pending Payments screen.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have thousands of Creators to pay weekly and Tipalti takes the stress out of having to manually enter all ACH banking informations for each.  Security wise, there is always constant communication from the Tipalti team when a clients information changes or there are any red flags.

I love how easy it is to use Tipalti for uploading expense reports. The app makes it really easy to upload multiple receipts at a time, and it's smart because it knows the patterns for different budget tagging. This feature, along with its pattern recognition, makes the whole process much faster and easier without the need for selecting all the different budget tags manually. It's really smart and efficient, and I can't think of anything that doesn't work well.

As an Accounts Payable associate managing hundreds of payments every month across multiple global entities, Tipalti has become an essential part of my daily workflow. The platform’s automation, clarity, and reliability have significantly streamlined our payment processes. What once required extensive manual effort is now faster, more accurate, and far more efficient.

Tipalti allows me to manage high volumes of international payments with confidence, ensuring vendors are paid on time and in their preferred methods while maintaining compliance across regions. The visibility into payment status, audit trails, vendor onboarding, and tax documentation has reduced friction in our operations and minimized back-and-forth both internally and externally.

Overall, Tipalti has made the AP function more seamless and scalable. It supports the complexity of operating across multiple entities and currencies, and it allows me to focus more on value-added work rather than repetitive tasks. It has truly elevated the way our team manages global payables.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

While Tipalti has greatly improved many parts of our AP process, there are a few areas where I’d love to see continued enhancement. One challenge is that payment failures or sync issues with our ERP don’t always come with clear explanations or definitive resolutions, which can make troubleshooting more difficult. Additionally, the current invoice approval workflow is limited—approvals must follow a set order rather than allowing for dynamic routing based on amount, department, or other criteria. More flexibility in this area would make the process more efficient for our team.

Tipalti solves the problem of allowing large payment batches, instead of having to issue individual wires. Tipalti solves the problem of being able to make payments to banks all over the world in many different currencies.

I really appreciate Tipalti's support team, who are both friendly and provide helpful solutions, making any issues I encounter much easier to handle. The initial setup of Tipalti was really easy, mainly because we received a lot of support during the first days, which made the transition smooth. I value the functionality that Tipalti provides for payments and invoices, allowing us to efficiently manage transactions, especially with the diverse countries involved in our processes. Additionally, having Tipalti as a source of AP information is incredibly beneficial as it consolidates our accounts payable, simplifying payment processes across different regions.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

For some payments over $75,000, it takes a lot of time to process. Tipalti can withdraw the funds from our bank account, but this process takes four days, causing delays in our payments.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Tipalti to manage payments to contractors and vendors globally, centralizing AP information. It simplifies payments and invoicing, though large transactions can be slow. The support team is excellent, assisting during setup, but cross-border payment delays need improvement.

Additionally, when our accounting period is locked and approved invoices can’t sync to NetSuite (which is understandable), it would be helpful to have a more efficient way to mass update invoice dates. Currently, we need to retract approval on each invoice individually, adjust the date, and re-approve — a bit time-consuming for monthly cycles.

Overall, Tipalti remains a strong and valuable tool in our AP workflow, and with a few usability enhancements, it could be even better. We’re excited to see how the platform continues to evolve.

Tipalti interacts very well with Sage Intacct. You can have as many approvers as you want for free. Approvers do not need to manage a login, they just need to keep an eye out for approval emails. OCR and auto-coding work well. We started using the expenses feature for staff reimbursements and are excited that we no longer need to have staff fill out forms manually.

Having to keep the account funded. Reconciliation reports are not able to be run by accrual date. When staff reimbursements are approved, they are coded to that day (not to the day they occur) so they are not accrued easily.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti has greatly improved our processes by automating invoice handling, reducing manual work, and making payments faster and more accurate. Its reporting tools give us better visibility into payables and cash flow, helping us save time, improve compliance, and focus on more important tasks.

  ### 49. OK Solution Ruined by Poor integration Support

**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

Overall, the payer and payee portals are well designed. The OCR feature works reasonably well. The number of payment options offered is great. In short, a big step forward from our ERP only process.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

I cannot recommend Tipalti to anyone looking to integration their product with NetSuite. Their integration engineering team delayed our implementation by two months after failing to inform us that there was a known issue when mapping the project/customer transaction line field if you have a significant number of customers. We were only able to move forward after giving up on their support and implementation manager to understand, much less fix the issue. 

Further, the product doesn't have minor guardrails to prevent NetSuite integration errors during the 3-way match process. For example, matching multiple bills lines to a single PO line will cause an error. This requires the entire matching/approval process to be redone. Some very modest development work could prevent this.

Finally, after going into our second year with the product, we've had the integration simply fail to run either entirely or for specific records on six separate occasions. Tipalti does not actively monitor their integration jobs and it is up to the customer to notify their support team of any issues. Usually, this takes 3-4 days to be escalated to someone capable of fixing the issue on their engineering team. 

Bottom line, if you're on NetSuite you cannot trust that the product will work for you consistently. 

There are a number of inconsistencies with the UI design. Every page of the bill processing workflow looks like it was designed by a different team. Additionally, many of the relevant actions are not available when viewing a bill directly. Rather, you must find the bill from the list page to get access to the needed actions. 

We struggled to work with our Tipalti implementation manager. He had no project plan for implementation, did not know his project, and was not knowledgable about the NetSuite integration. We had to insist on being assigned a new implementation manager. He was only marginally better organized but we essentially implemented the product ourselves wherever we were able to. 

Lastly, charging user licenses for any privileged user is ridiculous for this class of software and should be included in the base price.

Tipalti provides a payee portal and automated payment processing that was missing from our NetSuite only workflow.

**What do you like best about Tipalti?**

What I like most about Tipalti is how it simplifies our payment processes. The system handles everything from approvals to payments with minimal manual work, and the integration with QuickBooks and soon with Netsuite has been a big help. It’s a huge relief to know invoices are syncing correctly without duplicating records. The approval workflows are also super helpful—it’s easy to set them up to ensure the right people are reviewing and approving expenses. Plus, their customer support team has always been responsive and ready to clarify workflows or troubleshoot issues.
Another standout is the attention Tipalti gives to adding features that make life easier. For instance, the introduction of the pay-by-card option is something I’ve been excited about—it adds flexibility and even provides rebates, which is great for the company. We’ve also submitted a few feature requests, like inserting one-time approvers and paying suppliers per invoice, and I appreciate that Tipalti is open to feedback. The system has lightened our overall workload and improved how we manage accounts payable.

**What do you dislike about Tipalti?**

We’ve experienced a couple of technical issues, like invoices appearing blank after approval, but these seem to be isolated cases, and Tipalti’s support team has been quick to escalate them. Overall, the system works well, but there’s always room for a few tweaks to make it even more efficient.

**What problems is Tipalti solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tipalti helps us streamline our accounts payable process, making payments to vendors quicker and less manual. It solves issues like approval tracking and syncing invoices across systems without duplication. The multi-entity support is a game-changer as we transition parts of our operations to Netsuite. It’s also improving vendor payment options with features like pay-by-card, offering flexibility for suppliers and cashback rebates for us. Overall, it saves us time, reduces errors, and adds value to our processes.
