"Tidal Workflow Overview"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

Strong Security Upgrades, Tidal introduced AES‑256 encryption across all databases and configuration files, ensuring enterprise‑grade protection for sensitive data. The encryption process now includes detailed logging and auto‑backup, making system administration safer and more transparent. Major Cloud Security Expansion, A standout improvement is the addition of 47 comprehensive AWS security tests. These cover IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch, helping teams automatically detect misconfigurations such as unsecured policies, unused access keys, missing MFA, and insufficient CloudWatch alerts. Better Integration with Jira,You can now link existing Jira tickets directly to Tidal tasks, which helps synchronize workflows across engineering, compliance, and operations. This eliminates duplicate issues and ensures better alignment between teams. Improved Event Triggers & Agent Stability, New job event triggers—such as alerts when a job may collide with an outage window—help prevent unexpected failures.Tidal also improved agent stability by preventing older agents from shutting down unexpectedly and tightening job parameter validation. What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

A richer analytics dashboard with drill‑down insights, customizable reporting, and better log visualization would significantly enhance operational transparency. More frequent bug‑fix releases and continuous performance optimization, especially for large job streams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Recommended Despite Performance Lag"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

I like that the system, most of the time, will be up and running. It is a good thing, which I like about Tidal Automation. The initial setup was good, and we got much support from Tidal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

I feel like Tidal Automation is a bit slow compared to other automation tools on the market. I'm hoping for more of a GUI display and better performance. It would be great if it displayed more errors directly in the UI rather than having to log in to the back end server to collect the details. I would be happier if the logs could be available on the front end rather than logging into the server where Tidal is installed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust for Enterprise, Costly for Cloud"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

I like Tidal Automation for its usability and interface, which helps in understanding how a dependency tree runs and building complex automations. It's great for compartmentalizing tasks, letting you rely less on large-scale code blocks and break things down into microcode or microprocess segments. I find it requires a lot less training for operators, making it user-friendly. Tidal Automation also has wonderful plugins with great features when needed, and it is relatively straightforward to install. When it comes to enterprise scheduling, it's a solid choice that's easy to use and enterprise-ready. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

Tidal is monolithic while it can have some redundancy. Its costs of running is not inexpensive. Tidal licensing in recent years has increased dramatically, which made it a lot less cost effective against certain other rivals. Its overhead has become one of its underlying issues. They need a lighter version, also something that is more cloud-centric, that can run dynamically and distributed. I also wish they had SAAS for tidal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Eighteen years of Operational Value and Benefits with Tidal"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

Our organization transitioned to the Tidal Automation Workload

Scheduler eighteen years ago, migrating from Maestro and Tivoli. Over the

years, with continuous enhancements and improvements, Tidal has proven

to be a highly reliable and stable scheduling solution. After

implementing this product, we were able to automate numerous reporting

processes, significantly improving operational efficiency and

providing long-term benefits to our users.

Tidal’s intuitive graphical user interface is easy to navigate while

still delivering the essential functionality required by the business.

Its user-friendly design, along with built-in features such as full

batch-processing visualization, allows users to view end-to-end

workflows prior to integration into production cycles. This has been a

valuable capability for our team.

I particularly appreciate the command-line interface, which is

straightforward to use and provides robust control for managing

complex scheduling activities. Additionally, Tidal’s automated

error-notification features, based on job status, have greatly reduced

the need for manual intervention and minimized operational workload.

Tidal also integrates seamlessly with various cloud-based platforms

and ServiceNow, which has become essential for modern enterprise

environments. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the application’s

capabilities, reliability, and performance.

Finally, the support provided by Redwood has been

excellent—responsive, friendly, and consistently accommodating to our

needs from initial implementation to ongoing maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

License cost became significantly high as twice as what we had. Also, expanding the scheduler or adding new adapters/software may involve additional cost. Lack of Training guide and documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Routine Tasks, Offers Workflow Flexibility"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

Once I understood the basics of Tidal Automation, it became quite simple to use. Building workflows is like putting together puzzle pieces with three or four different classifications like jobs, groups, milestones, and terminate jobs. With these job types, I can create workflows that follow logical paths depending on the outcome of the previous job. I find it interesting that there can be scheduled jobs or event-based jobs that only kick off once a certain event is met. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

Sometimes the interface is glitchy, and that might just be trying to do too much at once. Occasionally, we find glitches, and they're often patched in the next version. But in between versions, we only upgrade once a year, due to the high criticality of the environment we're working in. It's difficult if you don't know what you don't know. It's hard to think about a new idea if you don't have someone to bounce ideas off of. Oftentimes, you'll use it one way for a long time before you figure out there's a new and better way of doing things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile but Sluggish Automation Tool"
What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

I really like that there are many features to take advantage of in Tidal Automation. The user interface is simple and intuitive, which makes it easy to set up new jobs or copy existing ones for multiple environments. I find it efficient that jobs in the schedule can be easily managed through just a few buttons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tidal Automation?

It can be slow, clunky and I get kicked out often and have to re log in. The client can take longer to load pages. Also, Tidal sometimes has a mind of its own and will alter a job in the schedule without any user input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tidal Automation?

I find Tidal Automation to be reliable and it has great performance. It includes multiple features to schedule jobs in batches or on demand, which is really helpful for managing complex interdependent batch job processing. The simple user interface makes it accessible to users of any skill level. I also like that we can set it and forget it, or use triggers to automate jobs running at any time. Calendars are easily changed to adapt as needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
