In at least one case, I purchased expensive VIP tickets through Ticketmaster about 8 months in advance, but I was not allowed to know exactly where our seats were until a very short period before the concert. Because of that uncertainty affecting my guest, I fought for a refund, which I could only acquire after jumping many hoops and gaining the aid of my bank. So I don't like that they're not always the most transparent in their seating or even their pricing (very high fees that time), and it was nearly impossible to get the refund without external help. The user experience is better than all the competition. Being able to flip on the "show price with fees", switch between map and list views, etc just works better and faster than others.
