Jasper soft is a open source Java reporting tool. It has an easy and understandable interface for end users to use.connects to different data sources and allows joining and union operations. With the data we create, we are able to make visualizations such as bar chart and pie chart.
In addition, We can create report with different types of parameters like single value, boolean, single select, multi select etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As per my experience product support should be improved. I posted some queries in community but I did not get response so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I used it to create dashboards on dummy sales data, just to compare it with other tools that I had the chance to use. I liked that it had a connection to multiple output formats, which are universal, which allows for better integration. Exploring it was nice, because of the open-source. I would say that two of the best things about it are the wide data-source support (SQL and No-SQL databases, files etc) and the fact that it can be easily embedded into different applications. One of the main problems was the lack of documentation, making the learning curve a bit steeper, but other than that I would say that with time it is easy to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We tried 2 flavors of Jaspersoft one configured on a Windows server for the JRS and SQL db for repository and the other with Linux+PostgreSQL. The latter works much better has to be said. This is not necessarily down to Jaspersoft but more to do with how Linux and PostgreSQL operate.
The Jaspersoft server is fully embedded in our app and you can't even see it. We have designed an interface that sends a REST v2 call with a desired SQL command and what you get back is a PDF report. Jaspersoft's interface is fully hidden. It's quite easy to integrate it into your app, I'd say.
We have built many (thousands) of reports with the Jaspersoft Studio, and while the studio might be buggy at times, it's a decent tool. Relatively intuitive, I would definitely recommend it. You can do A LOT with it. And you can indeed build pixel perfect reports relatively easily.
We have a multi-tenant setup with a couple of thousand orgs and a few thousand reports. With the Linux/PostgreSQL setup, we manage to serve all of the clients with just 2 servers without any issues. And this is during our busiest times.
Their support is super responsive though. If you have a problem an engineer will be assigned to you very, very quickly to help you solve the issue. No complaints there at all. On the contrary, kudos to them.
They say you need a Java expert on your team to help work with Jaspersoft and I can see the value in that, however, we have no Java devs on our team and we're finding it pretty easy to work with the server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing that's a bit challening is upgrading to a newer version. We don't do this often (2 year cycle) so we probably lack practice but we find that you really need to put in the work to test every single thing in the upgrade before you can run a successful upgrade. And we don't even have many customizations. We've customized the Ad Hoc reporting interface (css file), custom fonts JRE, and a few configuration settings (e.g. governor for extremely large reports). Yet, for every upgrade we seem to spend days trying to figure out what changed and how did it change so that we can upgrade. We do have a large repository though so that doesn't help with upgrades.
Ad Hoc reporting could likely be better. We find that the lack of cascading filters and load times can be frustrating to our clients. We are on v8.x at the time of writing this review so things might have changed in the newer versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Jaspersoft is the solution for the pixel-perfect report - both as an individual report or as a mass report - and also offers a bi-self service for the business user.
Reports are quickly implemented after a short learning phase. With HighCharts, modern charts can be inserted without any problems.
There is no data source that cannot be connected. This and the wide range of output formats and access via the REST API ensure seamless integration. Support is quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The graphical installer should only be used for demos, PoC and the development environments.
The current installation routine offers many configuration options to perfectly customise Jaspersoft to the requirements right from the installation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can only speak from and installation and configuration perspective . It is pretty easy to install on a Linus env. Connects to multiple data enviroments we use MSL Server. Upgrades are easy. Support is pretty quick and easy to get. eays to enter cases and you get good support from those servicing those requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the loggin could be a little better - when investigating issues is to hard sometimes to find out what is going on from the logs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that after creating a Jasper Report it's very easy to publish it and share it with other people (because it's integrated with other software). Also, usually when i reach out to customer support my questions get resolved, and it's also nice that from time to time they check on me proactively to see if i'm having any issues. The feature of creating prompts was a bit easier to use in the previous version, but it might be just a matter of training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A single tool for the user where they can perform many different uses. Possibility to provide users with Word documents (or others), to compartmentalize data via data spaces, or to build precise reports from Jasperstudio.
Additionally, the ability to customize the application through specific developments allows us to meet the specific needs of our collaborators.
Very good relationship with the Jaspersoft CS team providing support. The team is pleasant, available, and responds quickly to our expectations. It is thanks to this that our upgrade to Jaspersoft V9 went very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We encountered several performance issues, some of which are related to the design of the tool (e.g., Library feature, recently displayed items, duplicate SQL queries for filters,...).
Some aspects of the tool are not resolvable and are irritants for us (e.g., default value for masked data instead of having an empty field).
Sometimes enabling logs to try to understand a problem leads to a performance issue related to the volume of log writing.
Personally, I had a bit of trouble getting to grips with this tool, but it was my first experience with a BI tool, so it's difficult for me to be objective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The team at TIBCO has offered great support in getting our product running. We have faced multiple roadblocks internally, including security constraints, infrastructure constraints, and a shortage of internal resources. TIBCO has been supportive through each of these issues and consistent in following up to offer assistance wherever possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No issues to report. The team has been outstanding to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I could see everything in jaspersoft which a reporting tool should have. Apart from just developing and publishing reports, we did explored overnight scheduling reports followed by automatic mail confirmation etc.
What best one can have when we can get all the reporting data ready made on our
plate even before we start working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing, it has got almost everything it has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Jaspersoft's pixel perfect Desktop Studio platform helps our company to create attractive reports accurately (PDFs, Excel documents, etc.). It meets our expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have struggled getting Jaspersoft embedded analytics to fit into our proprietary software the way we would like it to. We have faced some limitations with both Studio's analytics tools as well as the Ad Hoc tools. Neither can quite meet our expectations because Studio is iFrame-based (we need dynamic resizing of widgets) and Ad Hoc is too simple for the complex widgets we hope to produce. Jaspersoft is a very interactive and easy-to-use tool, it is very practical for those companies that need unlimited users without incurring additional costs or having charges for the number of existing users, Jaspersoft also allows having interactive dashboards updated in real-time and embedding different websites within Jaspersoft. As such, I don't find a disadvantage of Jaspersoft, often manufacturers don't have good support but this is not the case with Jaspersoft, their response times are very accurate and they are willing to help you in every possible way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
