Thunkable enables anyone to create beautiful and powerful mobile apps. On Thunkable, every app project you create works on both Android and iOS devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A dislike is taking some time to become an expert. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The drag and drop features makes anyone able to easily create their own app. Highly recommended for beginners and for people with little to know coding/development experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It definitely doesn't allow as much customization and specific design elements as creating apps on your own, so I wouldn't recommend it for people with a lot of app development experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how quick the app building process is and how many tutorials are made available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the learning curve that is involved. There is a bit of time needed to just poke and play around in order to figure out what works best for your intended use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the quick platform and that everything can be used within the browser. I don't know very much about coding apps, so this makes learning very easy! It allows me to follow tutorials to learn how to make programs I can use in my own life. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does have a bit of a learning curve. The tutorial videos are great, but they are a little slow. I found myself speeding up the playback just to get through a video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a very easy way to create your app like a professional one! Drag and drop components to edit your graphic and then go to the block editor to write your code using a puzzle way where cards are strings of code. Isn't necessary a lot of experience but only imagination and desire of learn more. There is a lot of extensions and a very big community with a lot of experienced people that will help you. Now you can edit app for android and ios , a new version (called thunkable X) is able to write one code and publish for both operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
New graphics style or components are more difficult to edit or require third part extension. There is some limitation for big project . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Thunkable has documentation of how to use the elements and the design, This will help all the users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Thunkable offer many tutorial videos but those are bit slow Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although I'm a software developer, I'm not skilled in Android development. With Thunkable I can build and publish Android (and iOS, too) apps. I can save and share a kind of source code and there are a lot of extensions so I can realize even complex apps. All I need is a browser and an internet connection. Live test via WiFi or USB is an important plus.
The "icing on the cake" is a wonderful and helpful community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I found a lack of native components, for example a grid component to show data in master/details view, very useful in business context.
It's not so easy to get an endearing user interface so to be competitive on market you have to know some material design and try to apply it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use and lets our team iterate on ideas in no time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's more expensive than some of the competition, but overall the best user experience. So, it's a winner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like the ability to quickly prototype your mobile applications with Thunkable with literally zero code written. It is also great for educators, because it can introduce people to programming without having them go through the syntax errors and other problems which arise when you write everything from scratch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the general constraints, for example inability to create components dynamically using blocks, or inability to create inflatable menus. Also, believe it or not, sometimes it's much easier and faster to write code than to create code from puzzle blocks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
