You can upload documents and other members of staff can access and process them. You can set up projects / tasks that can be assigned to staff and a work flow can be set up to process in our case Tax returns. **What do you dislike about Onvio Firm Management?** I would say that naviagting and learning the platform is a challenge at first but as you use it it becomes easier. Using it on a daily basis allows you to learn the platform and take advantage of all of the features0 **What problems is Onvio Firm Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Project and document management are made easier by having all documents stored in a single location, accessible to all necessary staff. This setup also allows for assigning tasks to each team member efficiently. The ablity to upload documentss and store them is a great beenfit as well. ### 2. It is set up quite well. **What do you dislike about Onvio Firm Management?** The fact that the platform was decommissioned in Australia despite the lengthy and extensive on-boarding process to try to get our practices to use the cloud. Those who had to find alternative solutions were left to do it with a cutover date of 30 June, which was not ideal. **What problems is Onvio Firm Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** Online cloud accounting and tax solution for those practitioners who have staff working remotely, and need to be on the road to access software which was previously on desktop. ### 3. The document sidebar can be helpful from an organizational perspective, and the internal document management does what it says it will do. **What do you dislike about Onvio Firm Management?** Onvio has frequent server errors and has previously crashed during the busy tax season. Only certain document types can be uploaded to Onvio, so some of our clients have trouble uploading their documents, especially Apple users. Onvio's client center app is the largest problem with their product. We have to field frequent phone calls from clients who cannot understand how to use the app. We have also previously looked at sending tax organizers out through the client portal, but our staff could not complete the organizer within the app due to bugs in the system. Onvio's workflow management is not robust. There are many better programs out there if that is the primary objective of using the software. **Recommendations to others considering Onvio Firm Management:** Onvio Document Management does an adequate job at organizing your files and allowing access to your client. Where it falls behind is in the client-facing part of the product and the workflow management. If you're looking for something other than Dropbox or OneDrive to be your primary document storage, then Onvio might adequately serve your needs. It also integrates with other Thomson Reuter products which is a plus for anyone committed to that suite of products. **What problems is Onvio Firm Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have not realized any benefits from using Onvio. The cost of the product combined with the number of issues we have encountered have not provided a positive return on investment. ### 4. It was very nice to have it web-based. **What do you dislike about Onvio Firm Management?** During critical times at the busiest time of tax season, the server either went down or was very slow. **What problems is Onvio Firm Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a document management system. This connects directly with ultra tax and helps it. ### 5. Unfinished product lacks basic features. You can't even format the reports and invoices to suit your firm. The software is unable to print directly to a printer, requiring you to print to PDF then print said PDF. In short, the salespeople lied to us and conned us into beta testing their product at our own expense. I am very disappointed in the unfinished aspects of the software and frustrated at the lack of basic features like editing the layout/format of our firm's invoices. **What problems is Onvio Firm Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using it for Client and staff communication and awareness. It's project management is great and the client portal is way better than TR's old one. That being said, the rough edges have been discouraging to our less digitally enclined employees which has slowed rollout, hindered confidence in the changes being made, and have actually made certain procedures more complicated and time-consuming than Practice CS and FileCabinet CS (not that I have a lot of good things to say about those either). No actual benefits financially at this point. ### 6. I use the Easy References section the most. Competitors will have software updates and other delays for changes to standards.
