An IDE for the Force.com **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Joseph U. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018 **What do you like best about The Welkin Suite IDE?** It is feature rich, it uses Microsoft Visual Studio shell so its a very comfortable product and it is well tuned for developing in Salesforce. They also update it quite frequently so it stays up to date. **What do you dislike about The Welkin Suite IDE?** If there is anything to dislike it would be having to pay for a quality product monthly rather than once and owning it. Not that I don't feel it is worth the price, I am very happy I made the switch to this IDE from a free IDE that was no longer being supported and the price is reasonable. But even at a reasonable price I tend to wish I could be done paying for it and they would just provide super great maintenance year over year for free. **Recommendations to others considering The Welkin Suite IDE:** There is a learning curve involved but there are a lot of videos that help with the features and its worth it when you get to the promised land. **What problems is The Welkin Suite IDE solving and how is that benefiting you?** There are huge time savings to be had. With free IDE's there tends to be a lot more bugginess in general, gaps and things to work through. As a Salesforce developer and consultant saving a couple of hours a month because the IDE is solid equals additional billable hours and reduction in frustration which is far in excess of the monthly fee. ### 2. Their IDE is great, and jam packed with features. I really love their debugger and their test suite manager. Makes it super easy to run tests and track code coverage. I also really love their editor tools like go to definition. They also have support for PMD which is great.
