What problems is TextExpander solving and how is that benefiting you?
TE solves a problem you don't realize you have: writing and maintaining consistent responses takes time and mental load.
Instead of memorizing a response to questions, TE remembers and repeats your response for you. On the consistency side, this means that your responses across the org don't just "sound" alike; they're literally identical, down to the comma placement. For businesses where consistency matters - operations, sales, legal, medical, education, etc, you no longer need to be worried about how one team member's tone affects the value prop or how some people write longer responses than others or sharing a doc of "canned responses." You simply give your team access to TE and BAM! Everyone has the *same* responses.
Now let's address the two hidden benefits: time and mental load.
On the mental load side, TE removes the burden of verification. Say you're working in legal and you need EVERYONE to use the same language for your Force Majeure clause. Not a "similar" language - the EXACT. SAME. LANGUAGE. Well, TE makes that a few key strokes. Now, instead of asking a junior associate or a paralegal, try to remember the last document that had that language, asking a bunch of folks where to find it, and then rewriting it, you just have it.
This does bleed into the time component as well. Recreating text each time you use it takes time, whether it's finding the previous response and copying/pasting, or physically retyping it. All of this is removed in a few seconds of typing to expand your text. I also appreciate that many of the tech burdens - like the time spent integrating it across various platforms - are eliminated. Because the app works primarily as a Chrome extension, integrations with multiple platforms are moot; TE will work anywhere you have a text box.
My ROI is bonkers: for a few bucks a month, I turn a 15-60-minute task into a 2-3-minute task. I cannot think of any other tool I use that saves me as much time as TE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
