Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise the ease of use and intuitive interface of TestRail, which simplifies the organization and management of test cases. The platform's ability to integrate seamlessly with tools like Jira enhances workflow efficiency, making it a valuable asset for QA teams. However, some users note that the reporting features could be more customizable and that performance may lag with larger datasets.

"Strong Test Organization, but support and renewal team is absent"
What do you like best about TestRail?

Simple and easy to learn. Good organization of test suites, test cases & test runs. Native Jira integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

Support has changed over time. Impossible to talk to someone. You are dealing with web form.

Weak AI features.

No native feature vs test coverage report given it does not have an advanced integrated with Jira that includes analytics or any reporting capabilities (Testrail fields are unusable).

Speed issues - UI is slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Test Case Management Tool for Agile Teams"
What do you like best about TestRail?

What I like best about TestRail is its intuitive interface and structured approach to test case management. It allows you to easily organize test suites, test cases, and test runs in a way that’s clean and scalable. The ability to tag, filter, and reuse test cases saves a lot of time during regression cycles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

While TestRail is a powerful tool, there are a few areas where it could improve.

The user management and permissions system can be a bit rigid — customizing access levels for large teams or different roles isn’t as flexible as we’d like. Also, bulk editing or moving of test cases across projects can be time-consuming, especially in large test suites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Aggressive Collections and Unresponsive Support — Be Very Careful"
What do you like best about TestRail?

The service itself was overall ok to do the testing tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

We had an incredibly disappointing experience with TestRail — not only because of their unresponsive customer service, but also due to the aggressive, borderline threatening behavior we encountered when trying to resolve a billing issue.

It all started when we simply needed to change the billing information on our account. This should have been an easy task. Instead, we spent a full month in back-and-forth communication with their support team, who failed to provide us with a correct invoice or resolve the issue.

When our license expired and we still hadn’t received a valid invoice, we decided to switch to another service. That’s when the situation escalated in the worst possible way.

Instead of helping, TestRail began flooding us with emails, and eventually transferred the case to a collection department. At that point, we were essentially threatened. I clearly explained the situation to the collection agents — that we had never received the correct invoice and had tried repeatedly to solve this.

I thought that the case was closed. But it was only the beginning.

In a month I had another message from the TestRail support:

“We truly want to find a resolution here. Please provide these supporting documents so we can properly review the situation and work towards a solution. If these documents cannot be provided, or if the invoice (XX, for $XX,XXX.XX USD) remains unpaid by Month Day, Year, we will, as stated in our previous email, have to proceed with collections, which may negatively affect your company’s credit standing.”

This response is not only tone-deaf, but deeply offensive and inappropriate. We were blackmailed over an invoice that was never properly generated, despite a month of communication efforts from our side.

Final verdict:

• ❌ Support is slow and unhelpful

• ❌ Billing is broken and disorganized

• ❌ Collections are aggressive and unprofessional

I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a test management solution. Companies deserve respectful and competent treatment — especially when paying thousands of dollars. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Product Capabilities - Weak Support"
What do you like best about TestRail?

-Works well for what it needs to do, works well for our process in terms of manual test case tracking as well as integrating with our automation tests.

-Relatively easy to set up, I was able to get the setup done following the documentation.

-Customizable to many processes and process changes by adding or removing any set of custom fields of your choosing.

-Defect integration/template with JIRA is good, allows for us to efficiently create bug tickets during test execution.

-Integral part of our testing process, we use this daily to create/track tests and execution results to share them with all stakeholders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestRail?

-Support does not resolve any issues - if something ends up breaking, it will remain broken unless your instance is upgraded to a version that has some fix for your specific fix randomly over time. I've had an ongoing issue now where custom fields for JIRA do not show their field labels on the Testrail push defect template. It was fine in the initial setup and randomly broke one day. I've had back and forth with customer support for over 6 months with no resolution.

-Random Scheduled Maintenance during working hours - we had scheduled maintenance appear for our instance at 2 PM, this caused major setbacks for our project. I reached out to support to see if we could ensure our instance does NOT get scheduled maintenance during standard working hours in our timezone, but did not get a response.
