What do you like best about TestDome?

I've only been using this software for a short time, but so far I like it a lot. The interface is very well designed and easy to use. The list of availble questions is quite large and creating custom questions is easy. Overall it's a well designed piece of software. The concept of the 'Library' of questions, and the ability to organize them is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

The software seems to generate a lot of browser tabs for some reason. After saving a custom question it would be nice if it closed the dialog and returned to the library. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TestDome?

I appreciate the very user-friendly experience and the complex, high-quality questions. Due to the quality of the tests (and we've been burned before with dshonest developers), we've expanded our use of TestDome from post-interview assessments to pre-screening testing. There is excellent tracking of candidate statuses and high-quality questions available. It's great for technical tests and is attracting interest from other departments within the company. What do you dislike about TestDome?

Company logos would be a nice touch if it could be added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TestDome?

Easy set up

Nothing else I like about TestDome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

1) Not accurate of real-world situations. For example, it requires the candidate to calculate financial ratios where the real world use case would be to cite if the ratio is favorable/unfavorable and ways to improve it.

2) Does not properly recognize or calculate partial answers accurately. It is based upon an all or none solution (100% or 0%). Many scores are either 100% or 0%. TestDome's algorithm is not accurately detecting partially correct responses (if you are not accurate to the second decimal point it is marked as incorrect) and penalizes you if you are not exactly matching their response.

3) The system has manybugs. Their example graph is not an accurate depiction of what they requested and scored 100% on what I submitted.

4) The Financial section was composed by non-Finance business individuals. The questions are not as relatable to the real business world.

5) The scoring system is skewed. You can get a score around 70% but yet be in the 99th percentile. To me, that means the test is too skewed, algorithms are not accurate, and incorrectly scoring tests.

TestDome should be aware that these test results affect the continued candidacy of job applicants so their accuracy and product should be significantly improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from TestDome Support of TestDome

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. Regarding your concerns:

1) Only number-picker and fill-the-blank type questions require calculating a number and typing in the answer. However you are free to choose any question you want on your test, as well as create your own questions.

2) This is not true. Partial scores are always recognized and included in the calculation of the total score. The only exception are questions that cannot have a partial answer, such as multiple-choice questions that allow selecting only 1 answer out of several options. You can find more details about our scoring system here: https://testdome.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/44002267103-question-types-and-scoring

3) We're not sure what you mean by example graph. Are you referring to the score distribution shown on each question? This is calculated after at least 100 candidates solve the question. Employers hiring junior candidates usually use Easy questions, while those hiring senior candidates tend to pick Hard questions. This is why the score distribution can be misleading if you compare questions with different difficulties, as Senior candidates often score better on Hard questions than Junior candidates do on Easy questions. Also, what is considered a “Senior” candidate can vary between different companies, depending on their understanding of seniority. This is why you may notice some candidates achieving scores that are noticeably different compared to the score distribution chart.

4) Our finance questions were developed with experts in the field who have both academic knowledge and wide real-world experience. However, they were designed to be broadly applicable to financial situations, so may not map precisely onto specific sectors or experiences.

5) It's possible to get a score of 70% and be in the 99th percentile if the test is hard and few candidates get a high score. However you decide what the passing score is, so you can increase it for harder tests.

What do you like best about TestDome?

Hiring is hard. Finding out if the candidates ability matches the resume takes several round of interviews. This can be expensive for the business when you factor in the cost of time. Testdome can do some of this vetting upfront and in a much more cost effective way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

It can get expensive if you want to vet every candidate and it would be nice if it could integrate into evaluation platforms. My hope is they continue to expand their question pool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TestDome?

Our company recently started using TestDome to administer online tests to candidates as part of a wider selection process. It has been a smooth process from the beginning, set up was fast and easy and we were able to use the tests immediately. The platform is straightforward and has excellent feautures such as cheating protocols. Igor in particular has been very helpful and responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

None experienced at present as we have just started using TestDome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about TestDome?

Very easy to add tests in.

Multiple answers are accepted as they are based on passing tests rather than the specific code needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

Once a single person has completed a test you cannot edit the settings (such as turning off showing results to candidates), so a whole new test is needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The platform focuses on practical, real-world tasks rather than theoretical questions, allowing you to see how candidates would perform in situations similar to what they’d encounter on the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TestDome?

Depending on the number of candidates or tests required, the cost can add up quickly, making it less suitable for smaller companies or those with limited recruitment budgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
