## Teachable Reviews
 ### 1. Easy Course Creation and Selling with Continually Improving Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachael W. | Dementia Consultant & Trainer, Community Designer, Mental Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

We've been on the platform since 2020. Overall, it's an easy way to create and sell courses and I appreciate that they've continued to add features that help creators grow. The price is comparable to other LMSs and overall performance for clients is pretty good.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Support is not necessarily the best and they need a lot of context in order to help you. They're always trying to add AI features that don't really help creators because, in the end, they don't know what courses you're building.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to offer our students a variety of courses and track how people are doing inside of the courses, as well.

 ### 2. Easy Course Creation, But Limited Customization Options

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael H. | Digital Marketing Strategist, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Teachable makes it incredibly easy to transform your knowledge into a course you can sell. The editor is straightforward, setup is quick, and you don’t need any technical expertise to easily create something that looks professional. Uploading videos, adding lessons, and organizing modules all work seamlessly. The integrated payment system is also a huge plus—there’s no need to search for additional tools just to receive payments.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The site customization options feel somewhat limited. While you are able to make some adjustments, it doesn't offer the same level of flexibility as a dedicated website builder. Additionally, certain features that I would expect to be standard, such as a wider selection of themes, are only available with more expensive plans.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable has eliminated the biggest challenges I faced when creating and selling online courses. I no longer have to worry about building a website from the ground up, managing payment systems, or piecing together various unrelated tools. Everything I require is conveniently available in one platform—course hosting, sales pages, checkout, analytics, and student management are all included.

The advantages for me are significant. I save a lot of time since I’m not switching between multiple apps. I also don’t need any technical expertise to make my course appear clean and professional. This allows me to launch more quickly and concentrate on developing content rather than troubleshooting technical problems. Payments and student access are handled automatically, so I don’t have to constantly monitor anything.

In summary, Teachable takes care of the complicated aspects and allows me to focus on building and selling my knowledge without the usual stress.

 ### 3. Teachable Cost Us Real Revenue — Broken Payments, Zero Accountability, Stay Away

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It offer basic insights about learner progress

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Checkout literally fails when it matters most
During a live $10k campaign with 600+ attendees, payments completely stopped working. Hundreds clicked “Pay” — zero transactions went through. This is unacceptable for a paid platform.

Platform crashes during live sales windows
The exact moment when upsells opened (limited-time, limited seats), Teachable broke. If your business depends on timing, Teachable will kill your revenue.

No downtime alerts, no warnings, no accountability
There was no prior communication about outages. We found out only after losing money. A platform handling payments must notify customers — Teachable doesn’t.

Admin dashboard barely loads
Pages need to be refreshed 2–3 times just to load. This has been happening for months. Even basic usage feels broken and unfinished.

Students face payment errors, then blame YOU
Learners see checkout errors, get frustrated, and think your business is the problem. Teachable damages your brand in front of your customers.

Support wastes time instead of solving problems
Endless emails asking for “more proof” of the same issues already shared multiple times. Weeks go by. No resolution. Just delays.

Chargebacks caused by Teachable, paid by YOU
Multiple students issued a chargeback explicitly because of Teachable’s platform failure. Teachable still deducted money from us plus extra fees. Zero ownership.

High pricing, low reliability
Teachable charges ~$200/month and then compares itself to Zoom and YouTube for uptime excuses.

Everything is “As Is” when things go wrong
When real losses happen, Teachable hides behind Terms of Service instead of fixing damage they caused. No compensation. No responsibility.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basic learner management and module wise updation of courses

 ### 4. Would not recommend Teachable

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It was an easy to use platform for hosting courses.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

It didn't include enough features and they recently got rid of their lowest priced tier and raised the prices of the rest.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. I moved to a different platform after they raised their prices.

 ### 5. It's good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nereah E. | Online Marketer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It's easy to access e-learning and also open your school

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

It has only one payment option and cannot be accessed without bank transfers

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I opened a school where I can sell my ebooks.so it has made my selling easy

 ### 6. Long term customer - Here's why they're not a good choice

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

We were initially attracted by the ability to import courses from Udemy. That feature has not been available for 3-4 years though. The platform looks pretty good even without any real updates to it in years.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Usability is dying a slow death and customer service is atrocious.

We've been a customer for 6 years and have about 5 schools with Teachable. In the last year we've had a huge number of issues with the platform. Saying the customer service has been poor is a huge understatement. A few examples:

1. One ticket from four months ago was completely ignored as we submitted request after request to have it handled. It's still open and not completed. Nobody will respond.

2. A ticket from 2 months ago, a very important ticket, has received no less than a dozen "we're looking into this" responses when we reach out to them. We've reached out to every person we know there, including the owner (who did not respond at all by the way), and are still waiting. It has not been taken care of and they will not put us in touch with someone who can help.

The platform itself has gotten really buggy over the last couple years. The admin panel often takes 30 seconds or more to move from screen to screen, and sometimes simply fails to function. Things are getting worse here day by day.

If I wrote this three years ago I would have recommended Teachable. After the last couple years of watching this company flail around unable to improve its product or provide anything resembling customer service I can't recommend a competitor strongly enough.

Teachable now has a number of competitors. Pick any of them over Teachable.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an LMS for video-based courses. We've been able to successfully sell online courses for many years.

 ### 7. Teachable as online course platform

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thea B. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Flexibility. Teachable allows me to change by opening it up to HTML edits. Like any other tool, there are also some limitations to Teachable, but overall, anyone with basic to intermediate HTML coding knowledge can customize it.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Support team. Somehow, the support team appears to be just an end user who knows the product. Most of the time, I resolve the issues that I encounter on my own or I just live with it.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An online teaching platform that doesn't take a long time to learn, and is considerably affordable.

 ### 8. Great LMS for all

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shalinee K. | Founder, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Ease to create courses and simple drag and drop website building. Now from the Teachable sales page transaction has become super easy. Loading video content is better than most of the LMS.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The limitation in the paid version is to have only five courses at a time. However, the pro version doesn't have a limit. Also, pricing is on the higher side. Adding direct automation to enroll students from payment gateway will be a great feature.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are utilizing Teachable for our course, and it is giving a smooth process of enrollment, course creation and make the whole teaching process smooth.

 ### 9. It helps you create courses very easily.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ceci L. | Human Resources assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

What I like best is I can create an attractive course very easily. The uploads features work VERY fast and I can see how my course is looking in the preview page. The support is very good too.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Sometimes I get lost in all the admin pages in the back-office. It takes me some time to find what I am looking for. I'd like an intermediate plan between the cheapest and the professional.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable offers a platform to hold all your content for students to see. We use it for: selling courses and training our personnel. It's been very good thus far.

 ### 10. May be It Works for You

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish S. | Growth Marketer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

- It provides everything from hosting content, setting up quizes, delivering learning materials to download, collecting payments & taxes, limitting content access based on learning level, issuing certificates and much more.
- It also allows you to fully customize your school from Home page to Thank you page.
- You can also set up custom emails which can be triggered on completion of certain actions of your students.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

- The interface iis very confusing, I always struggle in finding a particular setting
- It is super expensive. The basic plan comes at $39 a month and not only this it also charges 5% transaction fees on all the payments done via teachable

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initally it helped us setitng up our online school but later on we found that they have designed their product in such a way that the user is bound to use their inbuilt tools. For example third party payment intergration is next to impossible hence you end up paying them more in terms of transcation fees or higers plans.

 ### 11. considering giving up my wp website...

Teachable is intuitative to use. No fuss type of platform for course hosting. That is what I like the most about it it "no fuss type of platform.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Landing pages are OK, but they can do with more design elements where possible.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Course hosting. Selling courses is my main source of income

 ### 12. Big Teachable Fan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah H. | Customer Experience Manager & Email Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It's easy to use, to learn and to understand. I appreciate how intuitive it is.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I'm not a fan of how hard it can be to clean up duplicate and outdated users. (If there is a way I'm not aware of it.)

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable helps our team encourage educators, keep them motivated in a very discouraging world right now. It has made our business very scalable.

 ### 13. Great platform till

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Performing Arts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I like it has all the tools. Like certifica, quizzes, Seeing the progress in the videos.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Connection with your students. It was difficult to engage with them.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

And helping during pandemic to create courses online teach them.

 ### 14. Easy to start up your Online business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajvir S. | Development Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

What I love about Teachable is its easy interface and assistance in collecting taxes from customers around the world. You do not have to worry about applying different tax rates. Teachable does that for you.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The user interface could have been a bit better. The learning activities are limited and there is no way to integrate LIVE sessions from Zoom.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows bulk importing of lessons is very helpful. I love the feature of Order bump and it has given me more sales.

 ### 15. Useful for Selling Courses to Individuals

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessi B. | Founder

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Courses are easy to build, and I can set the requirements up in a way that works for my community.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I can't automatically send out reminders to students who haven't finished courses. While teachable does integrate with mailchimp, it only syncs the email address - meaning that any marketing has to happen manually.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We offer online courses for small businesses, and Teachable hosts those courses for an unlimited number of users without a transaction fee. Great if you're looking to sell to individuals.

 ### 16. Best online and coaching platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raghu V. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Easy to create courses and sell.

The platform is so good, and mainly, the designs of the landing page are stunning.

For into, I mean starters too, it's good. Just in simple tricks, we make the platform easy and simple.

Payments collection and settlement all easy.

They do develop new awesome features. It all like things are kept on updating

I also loved the community they built.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

A few times, it's tough to bundle the courses that per my choice. Also, I need to add a build download option because sometimes, if I need to draw the data, then to download one video by video, it was so annoying. Mobile version need to upgrade a little.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly as a teacher, the professional loo it gives confidence to people who get enrolled. Feasibility of adding as many features we want. Its best user-supportive features. Possibility of adding to third party platforms with all ease. Easy and quick to launch my course which is most important one.

 ### 17. Good platform as a user - May be right for your business

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

- It's partially white labeled, although not fully. So you do get the branding of the specific provider which is nice
- Having all your courses from a specific provider in a centralised environment is nice. Otherwise some courses may get lost.
- The possibility is there to combine accounts if ever needed (which was the case for me)
- When you login to your Teachable account, you get an overview of all your providers and thus all your courses when you click on them.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

- It would be way, way, way too expensive for my personal taste to use for my own businesses. I always look for lifetime deal software and if that's not possible, I would definitely find something with a much lower monthly cost. In my case, I'd use WordPress with some plugin(s) to achieve the same type of functionality.
- The process of signing up for a course after buying from a provider who uses Teachable can be hard/confusing sometimes. I ended up with 3 accounts and due to my own fault I even lost access to a few courses. Luckily that provider gave me back that access after my request, but it was a hastle anyway. Again, this was partially my own doing (including creating the multiple accounts), but it can be confusing is what I found.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

It's important to note that I would not use Teachable for my own businesses because I have the technical skills and knowledge required to do use different tools (I own a web agency). If I were someone who'd want a super easy way to offer online courses I would definitely consider Teachable. So if that sounds like you, I would definitely try it!

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically, as mentioned above, I do like it when I purchase a course from someone and they use Teachable. Because by now, I know what Teachable is so it's very easy for me to go to my account and find my new course there. So as a "buyer of online courses", my experience has been positive. Though again, I would not use the software for my own businesses. I'd personally use something different.

 ### 18. Not very happy with Teachable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa U. | Dog Trainer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I like that it was easy to get started and set up my online course. It is very intuitive to use for first-time course creators, and they do have a ton of options for course marketing education.

I also do love that they have a pricing model that allows you to grow with them so that you don't have to take too big of a risk to start and implement/promote your online course.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I have many things that have left me unsatisfied with Teachable. First off, I pay 120 per month for the pro version; however, I keep getting emails a few times a year promoting an intro rate for $99. I do not know why this wasn't offered to me from the beginning, but the fact that this is what they charge MULTIPLE times per year and yet I am being forced to pay more is ridiculous and adds up quickly. I even asked them and they just do NOT respond.

Second, my MacBook is from 2016 and just recently, Teachable no longer lets me upload files. I am trying to revamp my course yet cannot upload any of my updated videos. Whenever I contact customer support they give me the basic "clear your cache, restart, update your browser, etc etc" But I cannot update my browser because my software is the last version I can get on this Mac. It's ridiculous that I am not able to upload any of my new content, and I am pretty much almost being forced to purchase a new computer to update my course. I have tried on Safari, and Firefox, and since it's not the most up to date version, I am no longer able to upload files.

Finally, I wanted to add order bumps to the checkout page and they said that is not available, I have to use a third party. So I decided to use ThriveCart which was $600 (one time fee) and literally less than 3 months later, they came out with order bumps.

When first starting, the whole "schools" concept is also very confusing.

Extremely frustrated with Teachable and now looking into Kajabi.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

I would recommend starting off with Kajabi because it is a PAIN to transfer over once everything is already updated. You can save money with landing pages with Kajabi because it's basically an all-in-one platform.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to host my online course, gate it for a fee, and my students are generally happy with the ease of use.

 ### 19. One of the Best Platform For Teaching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I love Teachable because I use it as both a student and a teacher. When I first began to put out my online courses, I had to do a bit of experimenting because I was new in the world. With Teachable free plan, it's easy to create multiple Beta Courses, launch it on the market and then get reviews on each to create better courses. This way, I was able to understand what specific niche I should choose (what has the best market) and choose a paid plan on that. So that's very generous of the platform.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Probably nothing but I feel the graphics could be a bit prettier. it's also a little complicated to create the landing page and definitely there can be some room for improvement :) Otherwise it's great as it is!

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am being able to teach my courses and also explore unique niches. For example, perhaps I would like to teaches course on benefits of a herb but not be sure that whether it will have the demand or not. With Teachable Free plan, I can have multiple courses on multiple herbs and then choose the one that gives people the most benefit.

 ### 20. Teachable for Digital Course Product Line

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alisa R. | Marketing Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Teachable is an excellent option for online course creators just getting started because it's super user-friendly, easy to navigate and setup, and has tons of integration options, making it easy for a new user to jump right in and get started. They provide you with a lot of information and data, which is excellent. They also offer some options for personalization. Ultimately, I would say that Teachable has everything you need to start an online course with very little time, money and resources. It's a one stop shop.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Teachable has some setbacks. Although I mentioned that it's a one-stop-shop and has everything you need, I still wish there were more customization options for how the course material is structured. I am all about customer experience (for our students), and I don't think Teachable gives course creators enough options to display and present the material. I think it can often be confusing to navigate as a student, and the course layout can be bulky making information difficult to locate. So while Teachable is easy to navigate and set up from a course creator perspective, I'm not convinced that it's the best for a student.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

I would mainly suggest doing your research and exploring the backend to make sure you know all the different functionalities and capabilities that Teachable has. Once you set something up, it can be frustrating for the students and yourself to rearrange and change things. So really try to think through the customer journey and the lifespan of your product before setting up.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Teachable to organize and communicate our assets to our students. We use it as a platform for teaching our online digital product. When we sell a course, we have automation and triggers set up to enroll the buyer in the correct course. We also use it to bundle courses together so we can provide multiple products with one purchase. It basically hosts all of the information and knowledge for our students.

 ### 21. Easy to get going with Teachable.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Easy to build your course with a variety of text and file uploads. Easy to enroll customers as students in the courses. Good navigation for customers to navigate through the courses.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Sometimes the system is slow to react. The reporting dashboard could be improved, I still have to manually compile some data for reports.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Educating customers on our platform. Customers can navigate through the course independently and with ease.

 ### 22. I am a big fan of Teachable, It has helped me to create webinars and online courses for my business.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Best out there in the Market. I never looked for another tool while I am using Teachable.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable is the perfect place for anyone looking to start their own online course. It's easy to use, looks great, and is very affordable.

 ### 23. Good to start, but options are lacking.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The website editor is very basic, you cannot create a beautiful website.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

A very easy to use, good price and excellent customer support but the final design of the site will not be so good.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create online academies for my clients and for our company. The main benefit is that it is very quick to configure.

 ### 24. Teachable's functionality, payment integration, and reporting features are excellent.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Course design and functionality, robust reporting, and easy payment structure.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

It could use some improvement in the areas of customizable branding and the ability for community engagement.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great platform for hosting virtual courses. Payment integration was a breeze and I loved that I had the ability to enable discount codes for promotions.

 ### 25. Teachable is an awesome platform!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

The ease of use and the integrations it allows

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

the fact that affiliate marketing is only available on the high ticket subscriptions

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Sign up. It's awesome

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teaching students and clients online

 ### 26. Great for a beginner course creator

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It is very easy to get started with Teachable. It’s user friendly, easy to upload videos and easy to create landing pages for your courses. Their website builder uses drop and drag and there are great options for blogging and and expanding the webpage beyond just the courses. There are also plugins and options for connection with popular emailing softwares/pixels.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The pricing scale has continuously increased and it’s made it difficult for new people to get the features they need for a reasonable price. There’s not a lot of options for personalization so once you get past the beginning stages of course creation, the drag and drop website begins to feel elementary.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable is a great course hosting platform. The user interface is seamless and it’s simple to set up quickly.

 ### 27. Fairly easy to use but terrible customer service, I wouldn't recommend using them.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin C. | owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It's easy to upload videos and add information to your course

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The system is buggy, like when you add text and hit enter sometimes all your text disappears and there's no save function so you just have to rewrite it.
Customer service is horrible, you get caught in unending loops of staff asking you the same questions over and over with near no resolution. They also deal poorly with non US currencies (we're a Canadian company).

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have set up 5 courses which generate sales for my company.

 ### 28. HD Video or EU, find another platform

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Ease of setting up a course and getting started. The example courses and content to improve your course were very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

This is a new con for me. Teachable no longer has unlimited video file size! They used to market unlimited, but that changed to under 4GB if I remember correctly and now they have a hard limit of 2GB. They made this change with NO NOTIFICATION to customers. My customers pay a lot for the content and we deliver 30min+ HD lectures, now we have to leave the platform. If you are thinking "Just use Vimeo to host" that is an extra $600/year to Vimeo to do that.

My second issue is navigating the payment end is complicated when you have customers that forgot to add a coupon (especially for a subscription) or if a customer misses a payment there is very little you can do.

Third, my customer based has grown significantly in EU. Our coaching or live lecture courses aren't required to collect VAT. Teachable collects it anyways and it's up to the customer to get their money back vs not charging them in the first place.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

I understand the need to reduce costs and continue to make profit, but pivoting on a key feature like limiting video file size is HUGE and doing so with ZERO notification is unacceptable. There was also a very helpful Facebook group that they shut down to try and monetize as well it seems. It's a shame.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need a simple but clean UX to deliver on demand courses and live coaching.

 ### 29. eLearning and school on communications technologies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Combining recorded webinar sessions, ebooks, presentations in one single school

Great support of the teachable team with trainings, blogs, best practices, successful trainers and inspirational success stories

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

No German website or support for discussions
No direct live webinar stream, have to use third party services like Youtube or Twitch.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Understand Teachable as an elearning platform, not just a webinar platform. They offer much more with an amazing support.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Advantages of students: gain vendor-independent knowledge on communications technologies, combines videos, presentations and ebooks

My advantages: Offering trainings, collecting email addresses, gaining new insights, gaining new clients, higher visibility, learning howto's, opening mind and analize trends

 ### 30. Easy to use and reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo Alexandre F. | Financial Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

it's very easy to use and the platform has a lot of features. It is very easy to upload documents and videos and also you can see all the information about steudents intecation with each of the classes.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

it is not easily customizable, you can change the colors only. If you want to change the whole experience you should hire a designer to work on some code.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

you should do it and focus on the important things about your business

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

reliabiliy. I want a platform I don't need to have a support on my own and also that has a lot of features.

 ### 35. Great for students and teachers alike

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Very pretty and simple aesthetic for students, ability to see everything they're signing up for.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Basic functions all in English even if you switch language to something else.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed to create courses.

 ### 36. An easy platform to get started on and to get results

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

The best part about Teachable is definitely its ease of use. No special coding knowledge required, everything is pretty drag and drop. We're able to upload videos and PDFs and add things like quizzes and text to each lesson

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Lately, Teachable has had lots of downtime and errors, making the site inaccessible. This can be very disruptive for us and our students, especially during launch periods.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable allows us to sell online courses and make money teaching what we love! It's easy to use, complex enough for our needs, and they have responsive customer support

 ### 37. Good selection of courses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madhushi F. | Senior Content Writer, Animation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

It is a platform where one could earn some cash as well as helpful in finding a tutor for your subject.
For someone how is looking to enhance or build a freelance career, it would be a great place to start a business and is a great way to earn some pocket money. However , it has to be noted that money does not come easily, and you need to do some marketing.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The conversion rate is a little slow at times and business is not easy. Need to do self marketing. You will be disappointed at first having less sales and it takes a long time to build a reputation and come among the people.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

It is not easy to make business at one go. Need to have some patience till the work sets in.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One could have access to a great many courses. thus, finding a tutor is easy

 ### 38. Training Portals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Classes are easy to create and navigate.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Compared to other platforms the cost of adding additional admin support is expensive.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The cost is not compatible with newer like platforms. However, it will take alot of man hours to transfer our courses elsewhere. But we may have to this summer. We needed additional admin support without the high exuberant cost.

 ### 39. Multipurpose tool for Education and Business

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

This is a great tool to use for someone who really wants to embrace online learning and teaching on the fly. Teachable has amazing tutorials to help you through every step of the process. It's also so easy to customize, personalize, and frame to your branding and style. We've just recently moved to this tool because it's easy to understand with multiple web-design backgrounds. We are very excited to utilize this and look forward to hearing feedback from our staff.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

As of right now we only have the basic plan which leaves us with a credit card transaction fee. At 5% this can really impact sales in the purchasing update and we may have to reevaluate upgrading our account. Also, unless we upgrade, this is only one owner/author which means we all share a log-in and do not have as much traceability as we would with other tools or a different plan.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest advantage is how easy it is to use. We've tested out the editing features with multiple teachers and there have been minimal questions that they couldn't find answers to through training tutorials or Teachable's support staff. With over 2,300 staff members, it's hard to manage all the questions and problems by myself, being able to trust in Teachable's staff is so helpful.

 ### 40. An easy way to get your courses online

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

With Teachable, you can go from idea to execution fairly quickly, and get your course up and running and (potentially) making sales fast.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

There are some things which are frustrating and limiting, but you learn to work around them.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

If you want an easy to use solution for hosting your courses, Teachable is great. You don't need to worry about video hosting or taking payments or creating your own membership system - it's all included. It is however quite pricey and support can sometimes take a long time to get back to you - that is improving though.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to host my courses on my own site, but on Wordpress there were always issues with updates and security and plugins, and on Squarespace there really isn't a decent membership solution. Once I moved my courses to Teachable, most of the admin side was no longer an issue or a headache.

 ### 41. Simple Interface for New Course Creators

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haylee G. | Freelance HR & Business Strategy Consultant, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I like that Teachable provides plenty of resources for every level of entrepreneur to ensure they have the best opportunity to publish their content and share it with their audience.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I dislike the 30 day hold on payments from purchasers for all but the most expensive pricing level.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

I would recommend starting with the FREE plan and build out your course/courses there, avoiding the upgrade to the paid version until you are ready to monetize your course.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to provide free course resources for my audience while building their trust as I prepare to launch a paid course.

 ### 42. Get your courses up and running within a day

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene S. | Business Development Director (Digital Marketing | Sales & Marketing Automation | Growth Marketing), Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Simple interface even for first timers.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

Affiliate management, coupon management could be better.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Great software that is suitable if you are a first timer in implementing this.
Cost effective and scalable for most organizations.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To quickly deploy a LMS that is easy for course instructors to upload, and easy for students (who may not be tech savvy) to use and consume.

Benefits realized: Fast way to get up a LMS and elearning platform when you have content ready.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I like the price the best. Their competitor kana i is waayyy expensive

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I wish it had a little more capabilities and flexibility

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

It’s a good first option if you’re just breaking into the online course world.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 ### 45. Easy User Experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian d. | Senior Pastor, Religious Institutions, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

Easy to log into. Helpful user interface.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

For larger courses, it's harder to skip between lectures. You must scroll all the way down.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Easy to use, but could improve interface options and batch downloads.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy interface, access on multiple platforms.

 ### 46. Love teachable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I looked at many online course platforms before deciding on teachable. It’s intuative and they offer excellent support.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I could use more prodding to finish
Building the courses.

Online course creation for my business.

Easy to use and input information into the system. I like how user friendly it is.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I am not 100% sure how it will look/feel when complete.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

take time to learn, and implement.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online leaning - reaching people we cannot normally reach

 ### 48. Teachable Changed Everything For Me

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie L. | Marketing and Business Development Consultant, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

I have been using WordPress and building websites for almost ten years now. I previously had my courses and memberships on my own site. Since I moved them to Teachable, my sign ups have tripled and my cancellations have gone down to almost nothing. They have an incredibly easy to use system that has everything and that my students love. Plus they offer an affiliate system so I don't have to worry about anything. I can easily make my students affiliates and Teachable takes care of all the payouts and tracking.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

I do pay quite a bit per month for having all the features I want, however, in the end, the time and money it would take me to do all these things, the price reasonable.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Create your course and sell it before you are ready. This will let you know what you need to create. Make sure to have a beta group test the course first as well.

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teachable runs all my courses and memberships. This is my passive income source. This is a huge part of my business that I have been building. Since switching everything to Teachable, my sales have increased.

 ### 49. Great platform for e-courses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caryn P. | Consultant / Copywriter / Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Teachable?**

After testing several different options, I found this to be the most intuitive for creating ecourses.

**What do you dislike about Teachable?**

The pricing, specifically how it's a subscription model. It would be better if they took a percentage based on sales.

**Recommendations to others considering Teachable:**

Test many different options and consider ease of use (not just for yourself but more importantly for the end user) as well as pricing to find the best solution that fits your needs!

**What problems is Teachable solving and how is that benefiting you?**
