(1 reviews) ## TaxCloud Reviews ### 1. 1/2 baked Tax compliance and the worst customer service **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021 **What do you like best about TaxCloud?** They seem to calculate the tax rates correctly for most jurisdictions, although they had to fix a few for us. There are better services out there. **What do you dislike about TaxCloud?** 1/2 baked functionality. The sales tax certificates exemptions do not work properly Integration with systems is not fully vetted. We had to spend time troubleshooting API's Customer service and support are absolutely horrible. Pray you never have an issue and have to contact support. You will get the runaround. They messed up some tax filings for us, and even though they collected all the fees, they never paid it to the authorities nor filled the proper paperwork. For months we have been trying to resolve this matter. All of these matters are documented. They collected more fees from us and promised a refund; they never fulfilled that promise. We have at least ten emails from supervisors and other employees committing to processing fees the NEXT week. These issues have been going on for almost 1 year. Very expensive to use. The software is buggy, they haven't thought of all the use cases. **What problems is TaxCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were hoping to automate Sales tax compliance. It has been more problems than benefits. Avoid them if you can and choose other vendors. ### 2. AVOID - Terrible Customer Service **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Rachel T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2018 **What do you like best about TaxCloud?** We liked that it had free and paid options, with the paid being the least expensive of similar softwares. But their cheap price tag didn't make up for their terrible customer support. **What do you dislike about TaxCloud?** No customer support, and website has constant issues limiting functionality. Their support docs are for a previous version of site and are overall useless. We contacted them repeatedly by phone and email to resolve issue (site wouldn't let us add any states beyond the 'free' ones) and it took almost 10 days to receive a response. The same girl answers the phone and puts you on hold to 'contact' the tech department (and later, the manager), who are conveniently never available. We went with another company due to lack of support. **What problems is TaxCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solving zero things with TaxCloud because we ended up using a much better service. They're more expensive, but absolutely worth it since we were able to get the taxes on our website up and running in less than an hour. **Official Response from Patrick Riley:** > Hi Rachel - At the time you wrote the review, I can't argue with your bad experience. We implemented a new UI, new pricing and the Supreme Court decision was imminent. We apologize for your bad experience. Since then, we have hired additional customer support staff, rearchitected our processes and driven down our support tickets dramatically.
