## TargetX Reviews
  ### 1. Not always user friendly. Many glitches

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2022

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Target X is easy to use most of the time. The ease of programming.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

The glitches that happen on a regular basis. The glitches affect productivity and our response to students. Make sure bugs are out of updates before sending them out

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Target X allows us to log communication, stay in communication and pull reports that aid us in moving students through the admissions funnel. Our office is more efficient and makes more data based decisions because of Target X

  ### 2. Exceptionally Complicated, Disjointed User Interface, Salesforce is a Blessing & a Curse

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The Application Review tool is one of the best. In fact, I've heard that some schools picked TargetX based on this one thing. They wanted to really standardize workflow in application review and this helped them do it.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I have never seen a web app with worse or a more disjoint user interface. There are literally 4 different eras of user interface. You'll find stuff that is coded to look like salesforce classic, you'll find sections that look like salesforce lightning, you'll find a platform called TargetX builder that is their 3rd gen UI, but I think that's also been abandoned and now they are developing some UI that lives entirely on their servers and doesn't integrate at all with the Salesforce CRM. When they released their loudly-touted new SMS solution, it was worse than the old one and had almost no integration with the CRM. Separate window to bookmark and no data goes back and forth except basic contact details.

Also, settings for TargetX are stored in about 15 different locations each of them with wildly divergent paths to get to the settings. There is not one setting panel. There are Salesforce settings, "Custom settings," things that exist as a custom object, things that live in TargetX builder, and the main job of a TargetX admin is memorizing all the places where you might go to change things.

Essentially, you need an IT team of 2+ people dedicated to running TargetX or you need to purchase their additional service where they do all the configuration for you.

Also, new features are usually half-baked when released. Just sayin. A fix for an issue will be promised to be just months away for 1-3 years and then when it does get released, the new UI is nothing like what you're used to and only has 1/2 the promised functionality. And they announce it with great fanfare!

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Make sure you talk to at least three current customers and make sure that at least 2 of them will tell you their frustrations alongside their reasons for being on TargetX. If nobody is telling you what they are frustrated about, TargetX isn't giving you an accurate list that is representative of their customer base.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an admissions CRM. Not sure that it's the most user friendly one but it does come with all the features you might expect in an admissions CRM.

  ### 3. Advani review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Support and robust back end that will be extensible to other processes. Everyone is given an implementation consultant to help initial stages. All have been very out of the box thinkers. I bring up issues and I get responses from, sometimes, the highest level.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Inflexibility with accessing different Saleseforce Objects in modules or different applications within the system.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

There are always trade offs when going with an off the shelf software between customization and generlizablity. The trade off has been very worth the decrease in specific, tailor-made solutions for the scalability, supportablity and repeatability within TargetX. The functionality of Salesforce alone is worth the price of admission.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unification of disparate systems. Using TargetX to increase student contact and, hopefully decrease melt.

  ### 4. TargetX - Recommendation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Ability to customize to fit our needs - we needed to add some custom objects and that has been very easy to do.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I am sometimes frustrated with email builder. The new email builder is occasionally tricky to get the text appropriately formatted. It will look ok in the preview, but the actual send looks different. Also, I don't particularly appreciate that the email campaigns have a built-in 'safeguard' which will put the email broadcast on hold if there is a 'significant change in the number of people it will be sent to. There have been occasions when I schedule an event email reminder on a Thursday (I am out of the office on Friday) to go out the morning of the Saturday event, and between the time I schedule the email and that morning, enough students have registered so that the broadcast is placed on hold. Once on hold, I have to go into the system and release the broadcast - which defeats the purpose of even scheduling the broadcast in advance.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Be sure to clarify your business processes first. Then, look at how you can utilize TargetX to do things most efficiently - don't just replicate what you are doing in your existing system. You need to look at how you can enhance the process. Then, look at what is delivered and see what other data you might need. If you are making any major changes - test in sandbox first and then migrate over. Also, use the resources offered by TargetX and the User Community - there is a great deal of knowledge and experience that is available to help you.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Completely automated our events process. Better able to communicate with students and track engagement with students. Also greatly enhanced our Admission Officers interactions with students and their ability to track their interactions with prospective students. In addition, we added drip campaigns which have been a huge lifesaver!

  ### 5. Very flexible, but stable product for higher ed recruitment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathaniel T. | Director Of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

TargetX customer support along with the service offerings are unmatched in the higher ed recruitment vertical. We have been a customer for more than five years and have been very happy with the product offerings.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

You have to use Salesforce which means you have to pay for a Salesforce license. It would be great if there was a bundled package where only one payment was made. We endured the growing pains of the smaller company and was able to partner with TargetX to create a solution that not only worked for us but other clients.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating recruitment whether that's via personal contact, digital marketing, or event driven. We are seeing results with the TargetX solution. Email deliverability is high and now we are engaging with our prospective students via SMS. Automating the recruitment workflow is a real possibility and realized at Lee.

  ### 6. Leverage Your Recruiting With TargetX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob H. | E, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The User Interface, wealth of data and reporting capabilities.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

It is so rich in features it can be overwhelming to new users.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing to various stages in the recruiting pipeline. Increase in the number of prospects who become registered students.

  ### 7. TargetX is a fantastic tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

TargetX integrates apps from other vendors to work seamlessly with their own tools. TargetX support is always eager to answer questions and resolve issues, as well as working to improve their tools and offer even more solutions.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Some features and settings are well-hidden. Lightning Experience is helping to make things more consistent so it's getting better.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making better use of leads we've imported, and more effectively managing communications with our prospects and applicants.

  ### 8. Great product - couldn't do what I have to do without it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl D. | CRM Administrator/Communications Liaison, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like that it is user-friendly and customizable.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

There are certain fields/features that aren't easy to report and get all of the information that you want. The new SMS system isn't reportable that I can find, and it doesn't log text messages to the student detail screen.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the system across campus. We've used it for housing, processing graduation, immunization tracking, and everything else. Any time someone says they are tracking something on a manual spreadsheet, I respond with let's talk, and we can usually find a way to track it in the system so they aren't having to keep that spreadsheet any more.

  ### 9. Robust Solution with Excellent, Customer-Centric Focus

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike C. | Director of Enrollment Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Their solution fits our needs for providing excellent service to our prospective students and families across the whole recruitment cycle. Before TargetX our enrollment activities were spread across multiple pieces of software and spreadsheets, so it's a real pleasure to have an all-in-one solution. The company is constantly innovating, and seeking feedback from their customers, which I greatly appreciate.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

TargetX is built on the Salesforce platform, so, initially, it's a little tricky to get a handle on what was native to Salesforce, and what TargetX had produced. I think it takes a bit of tech-savvy and some time to become well-versed in the system, but once you do, it is extremely flexible and adaptable to fit your needs. Upgrades are not automatically included, so we recently added their "Premiere Lite" service package so that their team will handle four upgrades per year.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Make sure to have buy-in from leadership, and hopefully, some staffing to support it on both the admissions and IT side. Implementing TargetX will not mean less work - just that the nature of your work will change, exchanging tedious, low-quality tasks for more high-quality, high-impact tasks. At the end of the day, our profession is about educating and guiding students and families through a complex and daunting process so they can realize the life-changing benefits of higher education, and TargetX enables us to do that better than we ever have before.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to stay in constant contact with a large pool of students, building customized communications across multiple channels. Through automation, we are able to build efficiencies and create workflows so that our team can spend their time doing personal outreach to our most interested students. With reports and dashboards, our leadership team has insight into how we are tracking toward goals. Our event management tool makes it easy to create events, track registrants, and communicate with them. I can't imagine where we'd be without the solution - the time before it (we've been with them for 5 years now) feel like the dark ages!

  ### 10. TargetX for Recruitment and Admissions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey C. | Enrollment Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

TargetX offers a prebuilt, yet highly customizable, solution for recruitment and admissions built on top of the Salesforce platform. TargetX has responsive and helpful support. There is a vibrant and helpful user community.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Although it is highly customizable, by nature of it being a pre-built solution, there are limits to what can be changed. Also, keeping up with the monthly package updates can be a challenge.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

TargetX allows us to provide a custom student portal for applicants, which includes among other things, a dynamic checklist of application materials and a payment connector for tuition deposit payments.

  ### 11. CRM is awesome, Target X separates from competition with their unparalleled service & support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AnnMarie P. | Associate Director Advisement Center, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Target X is always responsive, their product is user-friendly, even for less experience CRM users! Target X Communities is a great way to network, learn from others and share amongst peers.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I haven't really come across anything to dislike perse. One functional piece that is being fixed with the Winter update, is folders in the email campaign Builder, that will be an amazing update and allow us to organize our content better!

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

You won't regret it! There are other CRM out there, but they dont attend to the entire student life-cycle the way Target X does. They listen to their clients and respond to needs for updates or changes in ways that I've never seen with other, larger CRM/SIS entities.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication has improved a great deal, with virtual learning and communication with students during Covid-19, we found that adjusting our usual communication plan from email to SMS, has made a HUGE difference in response! We've had to look at our strategy overall, from recruitment to enrollment and then retention and see where we can do better to clean up our communication process and also where we have gaps. The best part of implementing Target X is really examining our current process, how we are doing things, why we are doing them (that way), and finally cleaning up the old and starting fresh with new processes that attend more appropriately to our prospective student and current student populations. The Target X team helped us through all these stages, working with them helped us to realize our potential and as a result our recruitment and retention programs have developed quite nicely since.

  ### 12. Things are moving in the right direction

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The support at TargetX is brilliant, for some reason we run into some random issues and there is always someone within the support or product team that's willing to help. Most recently TX rolled out better support for those outside of the US, which means we have support from approx 11am. Our Client Success Manager Emma Baker is also always on hand and eager to help, offering ways we can improve, but also helping to ensure we're supported.
Tim Harrison has also been great, listening to our feedback, offering solutions/ work arounds and taking the time to go through these with us.
TX listen to our user stories will often offer an enhancement to improve our offering. We had a particular issue with the events system in summer 2019, we worked closely with the product team to resolve this, with a solution delivered in early 2020.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Being outside of the US, we miss out on a lot of the webinars, as they are often out of hours for us and recordings of the webinars aren't available. Salesforce seems to be able to manage this better, not just from a perspective of running an EU event, but even their US events are at a time where the UK don't feel excluded.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're currently problem solving migrating out UG admissions transactional emails to the CRM. The business need is for them to go out when a status changes, but also to see which email they received on their contact record. After a lot of back and forth with Leah Glasby (who is amazing!) we were able to offer a solution that was workable.
We do feel there is still some work needed on the email builder, especially when it comes to the build - I'm specifically referencing having branded templates. I've been told this is on the roadmap, so am excited for this.

  ### 13. Great product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele B. | Director of Admission & Enrollment, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The communication tools in the retention suite have helped us streamline our connections to student cohorts at all stages of the application and enrollment process!

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Time-consuming to write the interface to pull data from other systems.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moved multiple application on-line with different enrollment steps for each

  ### 14. Custom Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

All the products of TargetX are helpful.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

TargetX SMS; one on one texting was not being helpful

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Admissions and Enrollment; Application review process made it so easy to make quick decision through workflows

  ### 15. Great company to get a school into the Salesforce platform without a lot of startup development

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2021

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

HE functionality pre-developed, great service from account manager, good tech support and resources

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Managed package components are closed and not visible, past technical issues, lack of some flexibilities

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online visit/event registration, online application, email campaigns, communication tools

  ### 16. Everyone has been friendly and helpful!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Our students tend to really enjoy the program.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I prefer my customer service questions to be answered over email. It is sometimes hard to manage the platfrom they use to have my questions answered.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Students connect with roommates well on Target X! They love having a virtual connection with students right off the bat.

  ### 17. Best Enrollment CRM I have Used!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like how it integrates into Salesforce. I also like the brand reputation it has in the marketplace. It is perfect for higher education professionals to track students throughout the application cycle

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

The user interface isn't always the clearest and sometimes it is hard to navigate.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tracking of students through the different stages of the application cycle is very helpful.

  ### 18. Overall user friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Fairly user friendly and provides easy ways to create reports and email campaigns.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Sometimes there are quirks in the system and checklist items get checked off as completed when they are not and doing a texting campaign is not as user friendly

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Get trained on the difference between Salesforce and TargetX and between what a user should know and what an administrator should know

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easy to manage inquiries and applications and communicate with both populations.

  ### 19. TargetX has been a very positive experience from the first day we began working with them.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2020

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The ability to customize just about anything within the CRM to make it our own based on our business needs.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

In the beginning the ability to customize everything can be a bit overwhelming when you do not know where to find everything you are looking for.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

lead management and ability to report on where all of our leads are within the enrollment funnel.

  ### 20. Staff who care about you and your organization and your satisfaction with service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2019

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Personal connection/relationship with Account Executive. Responsiveness of the staff and community to engage with one another.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

There was an enormous push for growth of their customer base over the last several years which seems to have resulted in serious growing pains in the service and support area. There doesn't seem to be any information available regarding ideas submitted by users; how are they reviewed and evaluated and worked into the roadmap.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In many ways we have benefited; event tool and email broadcast tool.

  ### 21. Top notch efficient relationship management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2019

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I love how it allows us to manage thousands of applicants/candidates. Report building is one of the most key features!

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Needs time and training and money to fully master the software.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Definitely go for it, especially if you have a large recruit management need.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for easy access to data, especially across devices.

  ### 22. Streamlined admissions and enrollment

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric J. | Enrollment Data Manager, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Our communications to applicants are now happening in real time and are relevant to the current situation of that applicant. This has been a huge improvement over our prior system of running snapshot reports from our SIS and then doing blast emails without regard to previous communications that may have been sent.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

A few hiccups here and there with the updates but they are usually quickly resolved. The user community and the support staff are quick to respond with any questions and suggestions regarding business processes or product glitches.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Ensure that you get set up with the latest version before launching. Work with them on their data mapping workbooks to ensure seamless integrations.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our admissions process now happens in a matter of minutes as opposed to days. Communications are now established in real-time with our applicants to get them the next steps to move them through the funnel to become successful students.

  ### 23. Great people to work with, but it's expensive for what you get.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monta M. | Director, Website & Website Development, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The people working in client support at TargetX are wonderful and will go out of their way to find a solution for your issues (but, unfortunately, once a solution is found company policy often is to provide a support document and leave clients to go to it on their own).

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

The cost is also very high for the value-added, especially since Salesforce now has an education-focused option.
Turnover in the company seems high.

Their documentation is extremely labyrinthine. I printed out their guide for a recent upgrade -- just for fun. It was full of links back and forth between at least a dozen online documents. The stack of paper was over 3 inches tall and I hadn't printed multiple copies of documents that were referenced more than once.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Be very, very clear with your needs. Be willing to adjust your business practices to take advantage of the options Salesforce/TargetX offers. Don't force the CRM to match what you've been doing. Think about the new options you will have and how you can improve your process. Make sure that someone on your team REALLY understand what you can do with a CRM before committing to a specific setup/implementation.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Undergraduate college admission.

Increased number of inquiries and applications.

  ### 24. Promising suite of products that fails to meet expectations

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

TargetX has a solid suite of tools for student enrollment management. I like the automated communications we are able to build on the platform.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Unreliable. Lots of bugs. Bloated. Part of the problem is that the suite is built on top of Salesforce. It also requires several tertiary parties to fully function: Form Assembly for forms, Conga for mail merges, Informatica to write back to the SIS, and Demand Tools for data de-duplication. Each one has problems, and it's always complicated to find out where the problem is coming from and how to address it. Support is also an issue, but we have support through a reseller.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Go with Slate. Seriously.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a complicated endeavor to manage tens of thousands of records in our recruiting process. A CRM is a must-have for this. TargetX has unfortunately caused more problems for us than it has providing benefits.

  ### 25. Comprehensive Academic Customer Management tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gregory F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like the ability to customize web forms and export code that I can fully integrate into websites

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I do not like the events calendar and registration because I cannot integrate it into our website smoothly. Our only option is to reskin it.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are handling all points of contact for prospective students on the website and then following up with email campaigns to get them to take further action.

  ### 26. Great tool but requires your own internal support system.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

TargetX allows large scale email communications which allows us to speak to many audiences on a personal level.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

TargetX seems to have a lot of bugs even after 3 1/2 years into our implementation. Support and instruction documents fall short every time. We would not be up and running nearly as well as we are if it hadn't been for our own IS team.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Make sure you have IS support in place and that they are participants in all discussions leading up to the purchase so that your implementation will go smoothly.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass communications to potential students for our university as well as applicants and current students.

  ### 27. So far, promising CRM solution

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Running on the Salesforce platform, TargetX targets the platform for higher education.
The include custom dashboard, reporting tools, communication, custom drip communication plans. It's a robust system that meets our current needs. We certainly haven't tapped into all the capabilities it has to offer!

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

institutions. They have a complete package to get you up on running for everything from email communications, events, reports and dashboards and day to day student recruitment tools. Product support is very responsive and they can go above and beyond to help you set up the best preferences for your org.
What do you dislike?
We have run into a number of issues based on their mass email blast capabilities. Our institutions does send out significantly more email per month than most other universities of our size but it seems like something that could be resolved in the three plus years we've been using their product. Some other tools such as telemarketing are somewhat limited but still do the trick most of the time.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Do your research with the new Salesforce HEDA rolling out to determine if you need the features of TargetX or if a pure Salesforce environment is all that you would need.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We can do everything in one place and no longer have to go through three different departments to set up a simple event registration page. These can then be reported on and we can better utilize space on campus and better anticipate the number of students coming to events. ### 28. Useful CRM for HigherED

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karina P. | Graduate Recruitment and Admissions Assistant, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

It helps enable real-time, often automated, communication flows to engage and track recruits, and also the flexibility and customization implementation.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Much of the functionality isn't ready out of the box and can potentially take longer to deploy.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

The social capabilities and the customization features for creating emails, events and reports.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In higher education, we are increasingly leveraging customer relationship management platforms (CRMs) to collect, streamline and share prospective student data within our department at GWU.

  ### 29. A Nice Salesforce Based Higher Ed CRM Solution

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin W. | CRM Manager - Analyst/Programmer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

They have tailored a CRM, running on Salesforce, for higher education institutions. They have a complete package to get you up on running for everything from email communications, events, reports and dashboards and day to day student recruitment tools. Product support is very responsive and they can go above and beyond to help you set up the best preferences for your org.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Do your research with the new Salesforce HEDA rolling out to determine if you need the features of TargetX or if a pure Salesforce environment is all that you would need.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can do everything in one place and no longer have to go through three different departments to set up a simple event registration page. These can then be reported on and we can better utilize space on campus and better anticipate the number of students coming to events. The ability to use Salesforce tasks has also helped our counselors be much more efficient at their job.

  ### 30. Great solution for higher ed CRM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Utilizing the Salesforce platform. Changing the business terminology to fit the higher education field is helpful. The system is SO powerful in what it can do.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Individualized and school-specific technical support is not easy to receive.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Pay for all the implementation and get it all done upfront. Trying to backtrack in connecting systems and processes is daunting. The system itself is so powerful and its capability blows all of its competitors out of the water.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Relationship building with prospective students

  ### 31. TargetX is easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like that for student entries you can clone records. Also, the site is very easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

That the system doesn't recognize duplicate reports. It is user friendly but there is a lot of steps to navigate through the site (multiple "clicks" to get to and from pages")

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to easily collate student records at a graduate school.

  ### 32. Problems with accessibility

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

We like that is easy to put the forms on our website and it helps us track with the inquiries.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

We are having problems to ensure the WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards. The form as an iframe has issues and the boxes where you ask the users to put their information are not compliant either.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Make sure you are ADA compliant

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to track with the inquiries from the forms

  ### 33. Great tool that keeps track of communication with prospects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2017

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

This is a great SRM tool that keeps track of communication with prospects and helps with engagement. This has been very beneficial to our institution

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

A lot of customization has to be done to match our environment

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building relationships and maintaining communication with prospective students.

  ### 34. Easy to use and provides a lot of fexibility with email templates

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

From a designer's perspective the TargetX email system is really what I have experience using extesnively, and it works really well. We've had a lot of success importing our templates into the system and getting them to work smoothly.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I wish there were just a few more tools for designers.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used this tool for recruitment and it has been a great deal of help.

  ### 35. Dean of Enrollment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2018

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

Ease of use for all staff levels, front frontline to data managers, clerks to deans.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Time to resolve problems - sometimes when we escalate issues it takes days to resolve

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Yield and outreach is increasing to propsects.

  ### 36. Applicant Communication System

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2016

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like how it integrates with the Salesforce CRM. It is also great that you can easily resend emails, as well as see who views or interacts with links in the email.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I dislike that there is no document imaging database to attached documents quickly and easily to student records. Because TargetX does not support this feature, we need another application management system, and use TargetX primarily for communications and event registration.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Make sure you have a plan to allow that your systems can connect with one another so data and flow from one to the other. This was an issue for us at first, and we have to do daily imports to TargetX.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are a lot of options for modification of the system to tailor it to our needs, such as the ability to add new fields and customize reports.

  ### 37. TargetX aims to be the solution for small universities everywhere. Does it make the cut?

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2015

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

The easy interface is probably the biggest win here. So often college recruitment/admission software is so rough 'n tumble that nobody wants to use it. TargetX does a good job of stripping away what doesn't work to make it as simple on the user as possible. Something a lot of people also won't see at first is that it is very simple to upload files and add them to where you want.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

Definitely the lack of university software integration is the biggest issue, for most I imagine. Ends up not being worth purchasing for most people I'd guess because it doesn't fit in with any other current systems. Probably would only work if you are doing an overhaul or just getting started from scratch.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Definitely needs some consideration of the larger tech needs most organization have for it, but try a demo and see if you can use what TargetX has!

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves issues with recruiting the people you actually want instead of just what looks good on paper, and making sure the process of communication and administration is as seamless as possible. The benefits are mainly that it gets easier to do your job as a recruiter instead of adding an unnecessary step to the whole process.

  ### 38. TargetX: Great Software, Depending on Foundational Customization

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about TargetX?**

I like the breadth of reporting that can be done on leads.

**What do you dislike about TargetX?**

I dislike the inflexibility of formula language.

**Recommendations to others considering TargetX:**

Have your entire team in on the ground-floor customization of your specific TargetX. Features should be constructed with group input.

**What problems is TargetX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is much easier to track a variety of lead activities, and assure that our leads are being worked on quickly and consistently.
