Talend is one of the more easy integration software to use, the learning curve is also very low. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some years ago, Talend was very immature software, but now this is changing very fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing availability of underline java source code inside process view. You can directly edit java code to tweak the logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

super flexible tool for anything data related. many out of the box components for the latest cloud standards and can be used as a ETL, MDM, and ESB solution all in one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
slight learning curve with some caveats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The User interface is Eclipse based, so it is easy for Java developers who have worked on Eclipse. The components are easy to understand and can be tuned for specific requirements. Talend provides seemless integration of Java code, so we can have most of the pre-processing done in Java and the main ETL done using the Talend components there by enhancing performance. We can create custom components in Talend that can be exported to other developers or saved in a repository. The big data components of Talend can be directly integrated with Hadoop and can run MR jobs thus optimizing performance. Talend Enterprise version provides the Activity Monitoring console that is helpful intracking the jobs, processes running in Talend. This tool can also be used for scheduling this the Enterprise version can be used for end-to-end integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For advanced coding, knowing Java is a pre-requisite for Talend and this skill may not be present in core ETL developers, Some of the components need to be tuned for performance before they can be directly used in a job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talend, is easy to learn, and very configurable. It has all apis needed to connect to all kinds of databases and major servers. It is pretty easy to write custom code ( in Java in my case). Most of the ETL processing can be done with minimal effort and custom coding.
Due base Talend tool being freeware, you can write custom api's if you need and have it approved by talend to be part of api set. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Documentation is very bad for Talend. Which they agree is a weak point. At least this was the case till last year, when I was still working on it.
Server configuration and reliability has been not so stable from the base configuration. Again this was till last year. Consequently felt like for Server issues, the support sometimes was not upto to par to resolve issues quickly, and had to few times, completely re-install the server side setup.
Another big issue was large data processing. Although they have some features that enable large data ETL processing, it was not a good tool set. Cosequently had to do some innovative configuration to process large data or speed up the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talend is a very powerful ETL tool.
1. Huge amount of Data can be cleaned up/formatted within few seconds.
2. With my Reporting tool, i face many issues if the Geo-coding is not in a proper format Talend helps a great deal to handle such issues and convert it to proper format within few minutes.
3. Easy and effective Data profiling features adds huge value.
4. I am very excited about the BIG data integration. Though i haven't used Talend Enterprise for Big data i am looking forward to using it.
5. Since you can visually setup the jobs and see its progress(while execution) and get info at any point, it is very easy to handle data.
All in all this is a powerful ETL tool, saves a lot of time, and i would recommend this to whoever is facing data issues. This tool gets my job done ASAP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tool is a little complex for first timers. But can be learnt easily.
There is a scope to improve the tool support and documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
