During our due diligence while looking for an ETL / data integration tool for our vast needs, Talend rose to the top for a number of reasons. Here are some, but not all reasons we have been using Talend for 6 years and will continue to do so in the long-term future:
1) Open Source - we all know the arguements for open source software versus proprietary, but we really needed a solution we can control, and not be at the mercy of an enterprise software's development team.
2) Support - not only does Talend offer really responsive ticket-based service, but the tools are supported by a passionate community. Whether it be a one-off question or a missing component I needed, I've always been able to find it in a reasonable amount of time. There hasn't been one issue I haven't been able to resolve.
3) Ease of Use - once someone gets past the learning curve, the tool is incredibly easy to use and deploy.
4) Extensibility - we love the fact we can deploy, not to multiple physical servers, but to multiple virtual servers on one box... again, full control.
5) Price - Talend was, by far, the best bang for the buck. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
* There were idiosyncrasies to deal with in the early days, but with each release, things have actually been fixed.
* Performance - performance used to be an issue for us in dealing with very large files, however speed has been drastically improved in both, job processing and adminstration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have experienced both on-premise and Cloud operating models with TDI (Talend Data Integration), and it is true that the Cloud model slightly changes the way objects and environments are handled but greatly simplifies access to the TAC. Above all, it removes all obstacles for the administration and maintainability of the administration console. The additional features integrated into the CAC (Cloud Administration Console), which are Data Preparation and Data Steward, are welcome. On the TDI side, it perfectly meets all our integration needs concerning all our different data sources, as well as for the production of our Datamarts. Its use in "noCode" mode and its documentation base simplifies and reduces the effort required for the integration of new developers on projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The solution has not evolved much over the last 10 years, the technical features remain largely the same. The pricing model has evolved significantly to become almost excessive since the acquisition of Talend by Qlik. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Perfect ETL tool for data integration. Various internal connectors can connect to different databases to move the data. Building a data warehouse made it easy, as specific warehouse methodology can be implemented with the internal utility Talend has to offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since the application is java based, you can expect specific error messages that could be misleading and make it hard to find the solution. I also faced the studio edition of Talend behaving really slowly, even with great hardware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talend Data Integration helps to collaborate between different services and helps in data ingestion from various sources like Azure, AWS, on Premise etc. It supports almost all kind of file types and there are very good data quality check features available in Talend Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The connectivity with external services like Azure is not so fluid like in the Azure Data Factory. Also, when the data quantity is huge, Talend jobs become very slower as compared to other services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All the services and features you require for big data extraction, loading or transformation, you name it, and it is there. I have used this software in my company project and it gives sufficient performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much to dislike but one point can be made that if we get stuck somewhere the code examples for Talend are found on the internet with great difficulty. We can only rely on Talend website for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
