The team we are working with currently is very qualified, we have been working with them for a while and they know our business needs and really try to fulfill all of our requirements. Even thouh the CPQ has a lot of limitations, out Tacton team always tries to find a workaround. We also have a very good working environment. We hope we can keep it as we had difficulties in the past trying to adjust, either to the PM or to the consultants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was expecting a lot more from the tool. I think in the begining Tacton offered us a lot more than the tool can actually do and it's very frustrating. Some functionalities that we thought were existing in the CPQ are not there and are not even being considered in the roadmap, so constantly we need to spend a lot of money trying to fnd workarounds for functionalities that for our company were a MUST from the beginning.
We have also experienced some dificulties with some of the consultants as they don't really know how the CPQ works so we have noticed this is very inefficient. I also believe this is being solved as we advance in the project and as the consultants acquire more exprience. Also if Tacton tries to keep the more experienced consultants (we lost the 2 best consultants we had because they left to other companies).

Keeping the future business needs, the Tacton CPQ and related products are being enhanced consistently.
Also to easy of maintenance and very agile approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Many versions are affecting the existing product models to validate. Sometime gives strange results.
It is also very big efforts to migrate from old system to Tacton CPQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Single system that is easy to adapt to the business requirements Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Release process can be confusing, between patch tickets and non patch. But once you get your head around this it works fine. The is only one solution for single sign on for either test or production.
- Not everything is clear from the beginning of how it all works.

The long responding times. Complex programming hierachy that requires a highly skilld programmer to adjust the tool to business specific needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

All configuration providers are very strongly focused on the CPQ process, engineering is often only addressed in second rank. However, this is a general problem for most configuration providers and tacton has better solutions than most of its competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Tacton provides a flexible approach to product automation. One of the biggest problems with writing programs to automate your processes is that you can get locked into certain ways of doing things, but with Tacton you can keep your product flexible and easy to change. Tacton provides the tools required to have custom in-house automation tools without the need for computer programmers or extensive knowledge of programming languages etc, this enables our product designers to directly automate our product without interfacing with a separate programming group. There isn't much to dislike, user training comes to mind, but no matter what you do your employees will need to be trained to work with your process and product, so that isn't a drawback of Tacton rather an inconvenience of any type of work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The program is user friendly, and takes out the need to remodel each and every SolidWorks part/assembly every time you use it. If you have standard parts that change in size then Tacton will save you a lot of time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The bugs in the programming. This is expected but something that could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
