## Subtext Reviews
 ### 1. User-Friendly Way to Reach Staff Nationwide

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoey G. | Performance Lab Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

My favorite aspect of Subtext is the accessibility to reach all of our sales reps nationwide, right at their fingertips! It allows making announcements, shouting staff out, and communicating messages easier than ever. We send anywhere from 1 to 5 messages a day, and the platform can definitely handle a lot more than that. Another bonus is that the interface is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate, even for less tech-savvy people!

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

Occasionally, I wish the interface itself were a little more sophisticated. I like that it's easy to use, but it could use a minor facelift! I also wish that video previews automatically loaded instead of the user having to click "load preview". I think we would see our engagement increase if it auto-loaded!

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have sales reps across the country and have always struggled with ensuring everyone knows about updates/memos/announcements/contests/etc. Subtext has helped bridge that gap significantly, as we all know everyone has their phone in their hands all day and is more likely to acknowledge a text message rather than an email!

 ### 2. A key platform for audience engagement and event marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dillon D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

The biggest benefit is the level of audience engagement. Text messaging feels more immediate and conversational than traditional channels, which has led to higher interaction rates and more meaningful feedback from our audience. The team has also been a strong partner, helping us think strategically about how to use the platform and identify new opportunities for both audience growth and sponsorship integration.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

I'd love to see more robust reporting and analytics, particularly around measuring business impact. Some advanced features can also take time to learn and implement.

**Recommendations to others considering Subtext:**

Go into the partnership with a clear strategy for how text messaging fits into your audience engagement goals. The platform works best when you treat it as a two-way communication channel rather than simply another distribution tool. Take advantage of the Subtext team's expertise as they are collaborative partners and can help identify creative ways to drive engagement, gather audience insights, and create value for sponsors.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Subtext helps us create a more direct and engaged relationship with our event audience. For Marketing Brew Summit, it's given us a channel to communicate with attendees in a more personal way than email, driving stronger engagement before, during, and after the event. It has also helped us gather audience insights, promote content and sessions, and create sponsorship opportunities that feel more authentic and interactive.

 ### 3. Efficient SMS Marketing, Cost-Effective and Easy Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike P. | Owner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

I love the fact that text messaging through Subtext has a 90 plus percent open rate compared to email or any other type of marketing we've used, allowing us to directly get in front of the people we need to speak to with exactly the message we want them to hear. It's also more affordable than just about every other form of marketing that we've done. Our team had a really easy time getting things set up, and working with Subtext, they were able to clean up the phone numbers we had in our system to differentiate home phone numbers from mobile devices. From there on, it just got easier every time we created a campaign.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

Applying emojis or imagery to some of our messaging does cause a bit of a hang-up, and the flow is not quite as smooth. So we've just avoided doing that at all.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Subtext to effectively communicate sales, promotions, and events directly to customers, which solves our previous communication challenges. It allows us to reach our audience with messages they'll open, making it affordable compared to other marketing forms.

 ### 4. Excellent way to establish direct engagement with audience members

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carlo v. | Director, Politics & Culture, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

Instant communication with engaged readers. Feels like a conversation, versus a one-way street. The interface and UX is easy, too.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

It would be nice it there was a way to set it up so it felt like a true group chat. Ie., for subscribers to be able to talk to each other within the confines of the chat itself.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to communicate with my audience via SMS, rather than the more cumbersome way of email or form submission, has been a boon in building a direct-engagement engine that we can use to convert more audience members into paying subscribers.

 ### 5. Fantastic service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracy W. | Senior Community Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

The ease of some of the features, and the ability to give multiple logins.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

I wish there were a way to remove people from tags while still keeping them on the platform.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for more features for our community, along with a reliable way to share breaking news as it happens.

 ### 6. Easy to use service to reach Auto Customers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | Automotive Implementation Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

Subtext is easy to use and manage with multiple accounts. The customer service is great their team is incredibly responsive. I love the metrics available and the preview the platform provides for each message. Its great to be able to set up and schedule the texts to go out at any desired time.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

I would like to be able to see the account name within the draft section of Subtext. I would also like to be able to see the number of subscribers when the text is scheduled, prior to it sending.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We love that Subtext gives us an immediate and guaranteed monthly touch point for our clients to connect with their customers.

 ### 7. User-friendly SMS solution with quick implementation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison B. | Audience Engagement Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

Our rep has been nothing but great. She is quick and thorough with her responses. Implementation on site, work flows, and creating forms are easy. I've trained multiple newsrooms staff on Subtext all within 10 minutes.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

We haven't run into any negatives thus far.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can now connect with our subscribers via a new medium and allow our reporters' personalities and voices to shine in a new, personable way.

 ### 8. Subtext has been a great tool to connect the residents of Frayser with community resources.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theodore K. | Frayser Connector, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

The texting service is straightforward and user-friendly, making it easy for people to sign up.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

At this moment, I have no cons to mention.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication is an issue within our community. Subtext allows us to connect with residents and share information about all the great things that are happening within our community.

 ### 9. Hands down the best form of engagement we've ever used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris Q. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

The ease of response for subscribers, who engage in good faith.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

I have no complaints. This thing works. About the only improvement I can suggest is allowing hyperlinks to be attched to text instead of standing alone, using up precious characters.

**Recommendations to others considering Subtext:**

Take the time to make your messages nutritious for te subscribers. Writing short is always harder than writing long, but making sure to convey complex thoughts within the character limit of the text is what the subscribers appreciate.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For years we tried option after option for engaging with our audience without being overwhelmed by trolls. Nothing worked well. No matter what we did, we'd be overrun by people spouting venom, drowning out the thoughts of those seeking to engage in good faith. Subtext changed everything. The subscribers to Subtext are helpful, coureous and fully engaged. Maybe it's because the format is what they use to converse with friends and family, but whatever it is, Subtext brings genuine, useful and troll-free engagement. One of the best ideas we ever had was to use Subtext to build a long-running conversation with our most loyal audience members.

 ### 10. Great product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alana A. | Education Program Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

I like the ability to schedule broadcasts to send in the future. I like being able to track the CTR on the links I send. My contact at Subtext is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

I wish you could rearrange the scheduled broadcasts. I would like to sort them by date to be sent, not by date of creation. I would like the ability to personalize the shortened links so our subscribers are more likely to click on them.

**What problems is Subtext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connecting with a wide range of people easily.

 ### 11. Okay so far.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Subtext?**

Subtext's platform is incredibly user friendly and easy to get off the ground. Our Subtext reps have been incredible advocates for meeting our goals. The platform has a variety of features including automation that are easy to implement. It also can intigrate easily with existing tools.

**What do you dislike about Subtext?**

The one area I'd like improvement in is the in-platform analytics tool. While not everything we'd like to see is in there, the Subtext folks are always very responsive in getting us requested data.

Subtext is helping build an owned-platform opportunity for us. In a time of constant changes on off-platform social sites, it's important to have direct connections with readers.
