I have successfully used StoryBlocks footage to define and build a start-up brand (in the education sector) from scratch. This has involved the production of multiple brand videos and several social media campagns. As a marketing creative and director, I can say that my direct hands-on experience of working with StoryBlocks content has made possible what would otherwise have been unachievable for the time and budget available. In practical terms, the ease of substituting test clips with the high-res files in an edit is a boon to efficiency. Stock footage and music are the cornerstones in video production. Storyblocks gives me really good options. I can readily find what I need and do that quickly. That matters because time is always at a premium. If you have to invest hours in searching, you aren't ahead, you are behind. I can find the right footage, image, or music very quickly. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** Once in a great while I don't find something I can use. But, that is rare. If possible, I'd like to see more diversity in some of the clips. Audiences are always asking for more. Why shoot it if you can get your mouse on great stock footage. And on Storyblocks that is exactly what I get. The same holds true for the music and images. Once I started using the service It surprised me how much more it is. Their system is fast, efficient and intuitive. When you add it to the fact that every search delivers so many good results, the magic happens... you suddenly start having ideas over ideas over more ideas. And I cannot express how much my work stepped up after only 3 DAYS. It's absolutely worth it. The thumbnail preview of the videos, the ability to download the video without the need to exit the search page. Storyblocks has been increadibly easy to implement when designing new content in Final Cut Pro X. I use storyblocks virtually everyday because I search for content weeks before creating the final production. Integration of storyblocks footage was smooth for me. The selections of video, audio, and other assets has allowed for increased creativity and production that is highly professional. Being able to download files in the size I need them to be has been very important to me as well. I love that I dont have to worry about copywrite infringement. The only request I made in the last three years was for storyblocks to get more footage of Chinese military. I use Storyblocks on almost every project I work on and the tools built into Adobe Creative Cloud make it easy to drop footage right into your project and then easily build the magic. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** The only thing that I find challenging about Storyblocks is when I'm browsing on the website and video images have hard time popping up or are slow to load. So there's pretty much everything I could ask for. But the main reason I've chosen them is because the licensing system is very simple compared to some other platforms where you need to do extra clicks to acquire a license for single use for a certain project. So StoryBlocks has been better for my workflow and I've have never had a problem with copyright strikes. The variety of templates (especially .mogrt-type for ease of use!), overlays and stock clips beats most competitors in the price range. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** The music and sound effects library are not their strength, some competitors have a wider selection of quality music and more SFX, or the option to download vocals/instrumentals on their own, but I've managed to still make it work for most of my projects. **What problems is Storyblocks solving and how is that benefiting you?** Almost every video requires music, but there's not much free-to-use music out there and what is, it's already over-used or just terrible. So for a video creator, it's rather necessary to get a music licencing subscription at the very least. But in order to take your videos to the next level, you need some visual candy to go along with it. Be it motion graphics, video overlays or just stock clips to fill a void or get a point across. And that's where StoryBlocks shines the most - there's a nice evolving library for all of those and it let's me do my job better and faster - instead of having to come up with an idea to animate texts, I can just use a template, if I don't have enough broll or just lacking the right kind, I can use the stock library. So far it's done the job quite well for me. ### 20. In my video editing process, there are times when I need additional b-roll footage to complete the storytelling. For example, in a wedding film, I might require a cut scene to show time has passed in the story, so I might select a timelapse footage of some rolling clouds. On other occasions, I add textures to add to the emotional tone of a film, such as blending in some glitchy grunge for a film about street art, or some sparkles for a film about a magical memory. In these occasions, it helps a TON to have a good ally in Storyblocks. I also use music for a lot of my documentary-style bio videos, and I appreciate their range of music styles, along with the fact that they add new pieces along the way. **What do you dislike about Storyblocks?** It does feel like there are some epic scenes in the Storyblocks library that are easily found elsewhere. For example, there's a slow-motion shot of a bald eagle flying. Classic. Perfect! But it's stock footage, so anyone can use it, whereas my own personal footage has the benefit of being exclusive to me and my clients.
