We implemented StarWind Virtual SAN in our environment, starting with VMware and later transitioning to Proxmox. This setup let us fully leverage our servers’ NVMe storage while keeping it synchronized across just two nodes. After moving to Proxmox, we also benefited from the free version’s web-based management interface, which is particularly helpful if you’d rather not manage volume creation through PowerShell. With the free version, there’s no web GUI for management when running it as a VMware virtual machine. Support is handled through the community forum, which is understandable and expected for a free product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
