**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast was very easy for us to setup and the sales representatives were very responsive. We were able to integrate the product into our existing stack very quickly and worked as expected.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

IOS app does not work, crashes on login. The product is not super intuitive to use, requires a fairly steep learning curve. The documentation could be more detailed which would help with setup.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Good tool, great price.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving incident alert management to make sure we can hit the necessary uptime needed for our SLAs. We also needed an on-call rotation schedule which squad cast gave us.

Anyone in an on call role knows how critical it is to get clear, noticeable alerting when systems malfunction or monitors fail. Squadcast delivers that in a user friendly, attention grabbing way.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Haven't come across anything so far, seems to be working pretty well for what the to is.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast ensures alerts are noticed, checked, followed up on, and your on call times are easy to get to and review.

 ### 5. This has been a good tool

We have used it for our on-call support and has done as well. We get alerts on time and can also add notes to the incidents.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Just to sounds needs to be better than the default one currently used.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our problem was on-call support alerts, Which Squadcast has now helped resolved with better settings and call management.

 ### 6. Squadcast Review

**Reviewed by:** Jay P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Good to track failures and root causes + fixes

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I get called in the middle of the night.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Error reporting and tracking for future use

 ### 7. Great Incident Management system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There are multiple incident notifications that you can choose from to inform you of an incident, and allows you to add rules!

As occasional users for a small team, we are on the free plan, so this is perfect for us. Happy to buy more credits for calls and texts once we have run out.

Super easy to use and cost-effective.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We have not come across anything yet, it's really simple to use. Nothing to dislike so far :)

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When a website is not functioning as it should (really slow/goes down) during an online event.

One of the benefits is that you can collaborate and make notes on the incident ticket for the team to see, so if you re-assign it, all the history and details are there.

 ### 8. Consise, simple to use, does what you need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian C. | Technical Operations, Infrastructure Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The ability of Squadcast to receive complex payloads and decipher them into meaningful alerts, and then actually alert the people who matter, the people who fix. With the work rota scheduling, outside of business hours, this is critical, and Squadcast does it well.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

With the input from PRTG and output to Teams, with alerting via their App, there's nothing to dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Just try it. It does what it does very well.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main issue was that whoever was on call always had to keep looking at PRTG and emails on their phone, disrupting family life and preventing us from relaxing for an evening.
With Squadcast, we can relax knowing that the App will alert us if anything happens. We can trust it.

 ### 9. Simple tool for SRE planing and bundling alerts.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adriaan W. | Tutor & Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast is simple and powerful. It was easy to set it up, and you have multiple alert sources. Also, planing the SRE on call is easy and intuitive.
Additionally, the free plan has many options to test.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

In some places, the documentation could be better, but here you can quickly fall back on the support.

Also, some more actions would be nice, to integrate in our tools.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Test Squadcast and love it, the free plan has a lot of options.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as SRE tool, to bundle alerts into one platform and also define who is the SRE on call.

We now get earlier alerts about errors and other problems of our application, and our customers are happier.

 ### 10. Great product for the price charged

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The graphic interface is really neat. The product is easy to use and I didn't need any documentation or guide to set it up and start using it. The interface is a lot easier to navigate than the one from PagerDuty which we previously used on the team.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It misses a few features like creating maintenance windows through the REST API, and direct integrations with Slack/MS Teams on the status page. We're also having an issue where, even if we have an active maintenance window, SquadCast still pings us when any of our integrations report an incident.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To get automatically notified on our phones when we have a disruption in our app. We created a fairly complex escalation policy on SquadCast and everything is modeled perfectly. It also allows us to notify our customers officially when we find issues in a centralized way through the status page.

 ### 11. Best for incident management in team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vahideh A. | Cloud Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Scheduling on-call, Squad management, Integration with different alert sources, Service facilities, Postmortem

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The status page is not as good as another similar product

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

It's good to have a short journey at least with squadcast as a one of the best incident management

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing team in incidents and making people responsible obviously

 ### 12. Best Pagerduty Alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hector R. | VP of technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

They have very good IT Team, support department, they help you with any integration question... After searching and test lots of Pagerduty Alternatives, this is the best, awesome integrations, reporting, tools...

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

They are just two features missing:
1. Ability to sync the SquadCast number in your iPhone contact list (Pagerduty do it in the app).
2. Ability to repeat an alert to the same target, for example, if I want to call me in 1 minute and call again in 2 minutes, I can't do it, this help with "do not disturb" mode on iPhone,.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Just try it !

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I integrated all my team alerting worldwide in a single platform, do fast responses to incidents on our app, escalations... They just call you at the right moment.

 ### 13. The app is satisfactory for its purpose

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The price and the postmortem templates. It also has a good amount of integrations for external services. The schedules, services, and escalation policies are on par with competitors.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Considering it is first and foremost an incident response and notification system, the app should have the ability to override volume control like all its competitors. This is where the app fails. If my phone is on mute or vibrate, I miss the notifications. This is a severe limitation. I was told a year and a half ago it was being worked on and still nothing.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit is cost savings. Their competitors overcharge and despite the one really bad negative aspect squadcast has, overall it is well worth the price.

 ### 14. The prefect companion - Squadcast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donavon C. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The intuitiveness of the User Interface was very satisfying. The Dashboard actually gave me important and actionable items. The perfect companion for our Team of Support Engineer

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

so far I haven't seen anything that I dislike. I have the app on my mobile device as well and this allows me a great amount of freedom. With our SLA of 1 hour, we can "acknowledge" the incident and proceed from there.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

This is a best-in-breed solution for providing 24/7 support, without being tied to your desk

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We provide 24/7 Support Services. Our After-hours component requires that we give our customers a 60 minutes SLA. Squadcast has allows us maximum flexibility when providing this support without being tethered to our laptops.

 ### 15. Well rounded on-call and system monitoring service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The Squadcast service is easy to use and configure, utilizing the scheduling and teams options we have been able to set up a quality on-call rotation for our team's needs.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The downfall to scheduling in the Squadcast tool is the ability to set a rotation. Having a section where you can set up groups (rotation 1, 2) and then set the rotation time frame (weekly, bi-weekly) would be a quality improvment.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Utilizing Squadcast has offered the opportunity to free up Senior level team-members to work different shifts while still be reachable 24/7.

 ### 16. Best Incident Management Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mirrhael R. | IT Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Complete and simple interface, with several visualization options, the graphics bring helpful informations which facilitates the incident management and allows to generate metrics in an easy way. Integration with other tools is simple and agile, I don't need to spend hours trying to configure.
The price is extremely affordable for what it offers.
The incident warning options are great and allow us to act freely, being able to configure individually for each user to use as they wish

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Schedule management is confusing, need facilitate the change assigned group (shifts). I felt a certain difficulty to adapt to the way the tool works.
I miss an exclusive dashboard for MTTA and MTTR, previously in other versions there was an exclusive graphic for this and it was better to visualize or pass on this information.
I think it would be nice to be able to create other dashboards, exclusive to the applications that are integrated with SquadCast. Exemple: dashboard only for Zabbix. Today I only have one filter.
In the mobile app I could bring only the visible alerts to which I am scheduled. It currently shows everyone, even not warning, is there.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

If you are looking for a complete tool with excellent support, fair price, several analysis options, and options, indeed SquadCast is for you

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Squadcast helped me with Zabbix and NewRelic incident management. In addition, it supplied the demand for a tool to escalate and respond to incidents

 ### 17. Good and easy solution for Incident Management Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We have been using Squadcast for about three months, and we are pretty satisfied with it so far. It is easy to use, and it has all the features we expected for a reasonable price. In addition, one of the issues we had with was the roles and permissions and soon after was improved enormously.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The status pages are too basic. I understand it could be the MVP, but it's too minimal as incident entries cannot be edited. Therefore, if a mistake is made, that's it; you cannot do anything. It cannot be fixed or removed. I hope this is improved soon. Removing users is a pain. They need to be removed from many areas (schedules, squads, etc.) before they can be removed for real.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alerting and incident management

 ### 18. Easy to setup and quick go to SquadCast

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

On-Call Management
Integration with almost all the data sources I needed
at better pricing

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

New Price Structure, Now you are on the same plate as PagerDuty

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Call and SMS alerts to On-Call Engineer,
Incident Report

 ### 19. Excellent product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mihai S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The support for incident triggers -- including quick integrations via webhooks & email.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The interface allows flexibility in multiple types of workflows but that means that you need to learn core concepts of SquadCast to start working with it.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coordinating an on-call support team for our customers.

 ### 20. Nice and Helpful Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Integration with other software such as Slack etc.
Mobile application which makes sure we don't have to be in front of our System always.
Ease of use in configuring.
Easy to add/remove users to a particular group.
Easy scheduling on-call pairs weekly in advance

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

None as of now. Maybe we are not exploring squadcast fully.
The UI on the mobile is somewhat outdated by at least by 4years.
More functionality should be added compared to competitors in this field.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it mainly for alerting ourselves with P0/P1 Alerts.
On-Call Monitoring schedule for critical applications.
Use it extensively during our ThanksGiving and New Years when our traffic is very high.

 ### 21. Works like clockwork

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pratheek A. | IT consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Has been extremely reliable. Each time something on our platform goes wrong, we get an immediate mail, and in 2 minutes, get a phone call. How awesome is that? Plus, I can quickly acknowledge the issue through phone itself. I've actually acknowledged an issue once while I was driving, on Android Auto. How cool is that?

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Documentation could've been better. Had to reach out to the support team just to get a sense of how to integrate with our CI/CD.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Fantastic product! A whole lot inexpensive than its competition

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been trying to notify someone on our team each time there's a failed Kubernetes deployment. The failure could be due to anything - bad push, failed tests, infrastructure downtime, etc. This tool has made it really simple to notify the DevOps team.

 ### 22. Easy for End Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I like that it is easy to set up the medium and frequency you would like to receive alerts. I like that you can set up individuals and a team through the app. It is also very user-friendly and is easy to explain to team members how to use it.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I don't have any cons at this time. It is a very straightforward app.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

If you are looking for a user friendly threat alerting tool, this is it!

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Squadcast, we receive real-time alerts from our SIEM about our most important issues. Because these are sent via email and text, I never miss an issue and can respond in a timely manner. The app enables streamlining responding to potential threats.

**Official Response from Anu K:**

> Thank you for your feedback! Appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts :)

 ### 23. Simply to use and better option for work.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Digamber D. | Site Reliability Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It has a better GUI interface and is simple to use for everyone. It has loving features for doing work properly.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

we cannot attach the screenshot or pic related to that alert.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By Acknowledge the alerts go for analysis to that alerts and if it is needs to reassign to concern team then we assign that alert to a purticular team. we can open the Postmartem to that alerts as well.

**Official Response from Anu K:**

> Thank you for your feedback, Digamber! Your feedback has been shared with our team. Appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts :)

 ### 24. My experience transitioning to Squadcast from a competitor

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

After using a Squadcast competitor for several years, we recently transitioned and are pleased with the application. While not as full featured as its competition, the simplicity of the service is refreshing. The company is responsive to our requests and have acted on several feature requests/improvements that we've suggested. Keep it up!

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I greatly dislike that I can't adjust the alert tone. The default alert sound is rather peaceful - not the best for the purpose of this service, which is incident response. If I don't hear the alert, the service is useless.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident response. No benefits over its competitor, aside from an easier to use application.

 ### 25. Decent experience while using squadcast for Incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bipin M. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

summary report for incidents. Good UI for mobile and web platforms. Alerting mechanism hierarchy.
Ability to group into squads and escalation policies.
Best being scheduling mechanism and integrations support(especially of slack).
The analytics page is decent too.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Not able to silence the similar issues after acknowledging the first of such type.
less analytics charts.

May be after each time - an incident is resolved, feedback and ways the incident is resolved can be collected.
and the same could be shown next time when a similar incident appears.
Of course, this is the organization's proprietary data, Hence security must be taken into consideration.
This enables the newer users of squadcast to know the history of similar incident types and the ways taken to resolve the problem.

Analytics UI may be improved to show the types of incidents and other statistics on a decent timeline.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business production alerts. Ability to handle peak times in productions and exceptions at run time and performance throttling.
We are able to find and fix bottlenecks in the delivered product even before the customer notices it. Thanks to Squadcast for its alerting mechanism.

 ### 26. Great option for paging and incident management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Calvin H. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We've found it to be very reliable and like the ability to customise lot of our alerting setup with the help of suppression and tagging rules etc. Escalation policies and schedules are great to complement this which makes managing alerts across teams much easier.

The product was easy to get started with and onboard with due to the user-friendly UI, and contains a large set of integrations that seems to always be growing. From the moment I got started, Renuka was extremely helpful in assisting with any questions and solving any problems we had! Pricing also makes much more sense in comparison to alternatives.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There are some small features that would be useful (threaded Slack alerts, flexible notifications before schedule rotations starts) but overall the team are very responsive and are often releasing new updates.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting a regular on-call rotation that works for and scales with our organization, and ensuring that the relevant teams are notified in the correct manner.

 ### 27. Has all the essential features for a paging app at a great price

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

would be good to have automated deduplication of alerts

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for incident management, helps ensure our team knows if any software issues occur.

 ### 28. Nice UX, easy setup!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael M. | Tech Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

How easy it's to create your squads and services. Also, the straightforward interface of Alert Source Endpointsand to set up alerts integrations

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

We only missed a single feature from our previous on-call system.
Once an occurrence is acknowledged, there are no other alerts if the issue is not resolved within a period of time. So it often happens that the person on-call is in a meeting, receives an alert, acknowledges it, and forgets to check it later.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are managing on-call rotation of several teams at once.
It's easy to create teams and receive issue notifications in different channels using Squadcast

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Fully featured free plan, good enough for small teams

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

No SSO in the free tier is limiting, but not a show stopper

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Squadcast is simple, easy to use and has a responsive support team that was able to quickly resolve issues we encountered.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Breaking out internal users into unique and specific squads helps organize alerting structure and regular rotations

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Some alerts can unknowingly get left in a triggered state after they have been resolved

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Consider looking into Squadcasts integration abilities as you can make specific alerts that notify via email, text, phone call, Slack, etc., and test what notification frequency works best for you and your squads.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out 24/7 squad coverage rotations for holidays or weekends for support and development teams has helped address blindspots and mitigate more significant problems that may occur during our non-working hours

 ### 33. Squadcast is helping so much for tracking incidents

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2021

The way we can process the incidents in a streamlined manner where we were able to introduce some crucial steps which were getting missed due to no fixed process for a retrospective of an incident.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The user interface needs a decent amount of training, some of the text boxes mess up at times.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

The product is straightforward, easy to use, and self-decribing. I had very little trouble get my teams configured without professional services or any formalized training.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

There are a few little things that could stand improving. The ability to acknolwedge alerts via SMS would save a lot of duplicate calls/push notifications.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Response to incidents and issues overnight used to be hit or miss if someone missed a text or a phone call. Now that each person in the escalation chain has their own communication preferences defined, we are consistently responding to incidents faster and minimizing production impact.

 ### 37. Squadcast performance review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Simple, reliable, high quality, and designed to avoid losing our content in the event of a lost connection. The user interface is also really nice, we can easily identify the monitoring status.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

None that I can see. The setup is just great.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Some of the comfort features of other IoS platforms are missing (more detailed Status Page features, more integrations), but still works extremely well

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to effectively inform our customers when an incident is detected, and quickly get our engineers on the case to start investigating and fixing issues.

 ### 39. Great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandro F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2020

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast was amaziling easy to integrate in our existing procedures and systems, having it operating from day one.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

I wouldn't say "dislike", I think there are many possible enhancements to do as in any product, but out of the box each feature was useful for us. The UI/UX for managing schedules for our squads could be improved as an example of this.
The absence of a method on its API for creating an incident makes the product less integrable.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Give it a try.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems solved
* The need for a single vendor and point of contact for all of our alerting needs from systems and procedures (i.e. ETLs)
* The need to make calls to our DevOps and Support engineers
* Integration of our alerting system with applications and batch/offline processes

Benefits
* Ability to measure the response of our engineers
* Visibility of our infrastructure general health
* Simplicity for our engineers for management of the incidents flow.

 ### 40. Modern on call tool to squads

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kadu B. | Infrastructure Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Very intuitive configuration and easy-to-use solution, really like how to deal with alert noise, on-call schedules, and voice call as an option to report incidents.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Could offer more remediation functionalities.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Squadcast, all incidents are automatically closed after the resolution; we have MTTR, MTTA, and post-Morten reports. Besides that, it helps organize the on-call schedule, and we don't need an operator to call the responsible team.

 ### 41. It's simple to use and very efficient.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

With our company, I like that it automatically assigns you to your designated time slot. Notifications are received easily and setup was simple. The menu is easy to go through as well. So far it's been one of the easiest tools we've used.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Other than being paranoid that it's not working, I haven't found an issue with the app.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The issues we get are from customers having after hour issues. Issues can range from internet being down, computer not turning on, or simple cannot access email issues. It varies as what's important to the customer to get resolved as soon as possible rather than waiting until the office is opened.

 ### 42. One of the best on call scheduling software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2021

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

-It is super easy to setup
-very intuitive
-integrates beautifully with tools like uptimerobot, Google Chat, Slack etc
-has extensive documentation
-amazing UI/UX
-most importantly it just works without a hiccup!

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

It would be great if we could download the incident list, also it would be great to have more time based filters on the analytics. Apart from there I could not find anything problematic or inconvenient yet.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Just go for it.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- We have a bunch of application servers that we are monitoring for down-times using tools like uptimerobot, we needed an on call management software to have people on call to respond to the downtime and immediately understand the reasons for the incidents

Benefits:

- Setting up escalation policies was extremely helpful in case the person on call failed to respond sooner
- Setting up the on call schedule was a piece of cake compared to other on call management software out there
- The analytics help us better understand the incidents and resolution time, which helped us better our processes

 ### 43. Operation Sleep Saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kourosh T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2020

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Schedulers is great, it gives various tools to setup a Oncall, Maintenance, ... planning.
in the other Hand Squadcast provides form for SLA and Postmortems, Integration of alerts with Slack, Github, Circle CI.
Also, Escalation is what's I really like about Squadcast! It covers Push Notifications, SMS‌, and Calling as you scheduled on schedulers.
For measuring KPIs on Dashboard it gives s MTTA and MTTR which shown average time of Alerts Acknowledgments and Alerts Resolving.
One thing they saw on their Software support beforehand is Feature request form! It's so relevant and helpful.
Creating teams (squads) is kind of cool too, it is fast and easy to setup your team and give a try.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Schedulers ! Although it's great but lack of integration with google Calendar and Apps like Slack feels so much.
Calls, there were some cases that no one rang on the team after an Escalation of Alerts to the team level!
I think status page feature needs to change to a more useful feature and Dashboard could be more better and informative.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Try it today and Save Sleep time of your NOC and SRE Teams!
Integrate Squadcast with your communication tools and monitoring easily and plan your Shift and Escalation policies.
It's Great.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving Team's SLEEP! Really, it help us to integrate Alerts with Notifications and Calls, all in Slack !

Measuring KPIs of the team and team members.

Integration of Slack with monitoring and alerting tools, it's realy helpful when you are using just Slack but this efficient.

 ### 50. Promising alternative to PagerDuty, VictorOps, OpsGenie

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2020

**What do you like best about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Squadcast combines incident response and status page features into a package that is great value. Squadcast has 90% of the features you need which is great for small teams such as ours. The free tier is very generous. They have a public roadmap where it is clear they are committed to regularly updating the product and adding new features.

**What do you dislike about SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast)?**

Some features that are present in competing products aren't yet implemented. For example, there isn't a way to schedule upcoming maintenance. I'd like more ability to customise the status page and present app metrics on it. I'd like closer integration with Slack. I'd like to suggest a runbook when an incident has been triggered.
The UI is sometimes a little buggy or confusing. For example, the calendar view displays our rosters in a way that looks like there are missing weeks. The UI for editing a status page is not clear.

**Recommendations to others considering SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast):**

Trial the free tier. Learn how it works and how it should be configured by setting up dummy services, policies and rosters.

**What problems is SolarWinds IT Incident Response (Squadcast) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Squadcast for incident response, on-call roster and status page management. We use it for public and internal services. We moved to Squadcast after using some competitors that were much more expensive, but still provided underwhelming service or features.
