Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

We appreciate your feedback. Creating sophisticated business use cases can imply a steeper learning curve, especially in the enterprise space. You can rest assured that our teams like Academy, Community, and Documentation are enhancing their efforts in the next months. Throughout the year, more self-service capabilities to enrich your experience will be released. While you are on the lookout for new members to join your team, feel free to evaluate working with one of our partners to bridge that period of time.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thanks for your review. We are glad to receive that valuable feedback from your end. Regarding frontend, you can look forward to some updates within the next months that will provide you with more flexibility.

We value the level of compatibility between b2b & b2c use cases, yet, due to their respective nature, certain capabilities might not unveil their full potential if used in the opposite use case. We close that respective gap with each release to allow customers to expand their strategy into new business models.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thanks for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We acknowledge a steep learning curve for our technology due to its enterprise-ready nature. The high level of flexibility demands a slightly longer learning experience. To combat that and equip you accordingly, our key initiatives including Academy, Documentation, and Community provide you with more tools and access to knowledge. You can also look forward to more updates on storefront and self-service capabilities later this year!

"Review as a customer's lead Spryker developer"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

The ability to customize a decent amount of the codebases's functionality without overwriting it will probably be my favorite aspect of Spryker once it comes time to upgrade major versions. For the day-to-day side of things, the built-in code style, functionality, and structure tests are helpful in maintaining the current standards when adding new code. The built-in code generators are also a significant help, speeding up the overall pace of development. Spryker's technical support reps are also competent and responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

As a developer who previously worked with systems such as Magento 1 & 2, the learning process and resources for new Spryker developers are substandard in comparison. What technical documentation Spryker has on its website can be old and inconsistent. The community help forum (which would typically make up for documentation shortfalls) hides messages after 90 days as it is using a free version of slack. Having all that past knowledge become inaccessible is something I would expect a competent software company to rectify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thanks for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Spryker. Due to the pace of our platform development, documentation, and the overall developer experience were not on par where we want it to be. To provide you with the best experience, we are happy to share that those two topics are on our priority list for the upcoming months. Alongside our academy offering, which adds new course material regularly, we are confident to bring everyone up to speed in no time. Regarding our community, we made a strategic investment that will bring our community initiative to the next level including better aggregation of content and federated search across our other sources. Stay tuned for more!

Supports multiple e-commerce use-cases, such as B2C and Marketplace

Enterprise-grade architecture, API-first

Scalable Cloud-based offering

Clear onboarding process Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Steep learning curve for PHP developers who are not exposed to entrprise architecture principles (e.g. like Java EE)

Lacks in certain key funcional areas, especially in Marketplace module Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thank you for your review, Akis. We acknowledge that due to its enterprise-ready nature, our technology has a steeper learning curve. "Spryker is an incredibly flexible platform that can meet the needs of complicated business processes"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Using Spryker, we can develop to our exact complex specifications while having the ability to replicate the marketplace for future business applications. The modular infrastructure gives us confidence that we will never need to rebuild from scratch again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Spryker typically relies on 3rd party systems to be integrated for robust functionality. If you are relying on out-of-the-box features for a majority of the solution, then Spryker may struggle to meet all of your business requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Spryker with us. We're glad to hear that the platform's flexibility and modular infrastructure have been valuable for your complex business needs. Regarding your feedback on third-party integrations, we understand that the Spryker ecosystem relies on a range of solution partners to provide additional functionality and integrations with external systems. However, our team works closely with each partner to ensure that they meet our high standards of quality and performance. There are a lot of things you can look forward to that the teams will share within the next months.

"Scalable System for complex business requirements"
4/5
What do you like best about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Spryker makes it easy to manage out of the box as well as individually implemented features and the back end is easy to handle for any user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Implementing new and individually developed features is a not-so-easy task and may require a lot of know-how and development resources. Also, the decision between concrete products or variants when it comes to the way the assortment is displayed has a huge impact on how the search works - and it does not work properly or as expected when you go for variants which is a must for a wide and/or deep product range in order to keep the assortment clear. So the search is a big pain point thet needs to be optimized urgently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thanks for your review. We acknowledge that our technology due to its modern nature can have a daunting learning curve. Yet, our academy team has established multiple courses and e-learning programs to provide everyone with relevant guidelines and best practices regardless of stage. We enhanced our search engine by replacing it with Open Search, which comes into play in our cloud solution. In addition, we rely on our technology partners like Algolia to provide you with the best search engine capabilities from a best-of-breed standpoint. Our latest SDK development provided additional convenience regarding code upgrader, helping everyone make the most out of our technology. Our product team would be glad to talk to you to understand your current challenges further. Please don't hesitate to get in contact with us via your respective Spryker contact.

"During the selection process, Spryker was responsive and provided the best solution."
4/5
What do you like best about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

The modularity of Spryker makes it a good choice for business. It makes it easy to turn features on and off. Compared to other competitors, the tech stack is more modern, which makes maintenance and security risks more manageable. The documentation is very thorough. The implementation went quickly and smoothly. The Spryker team was able to quickly develop to the needs of our company and handle last-minute changes. Sprykers's communication during the project was amazing. They were responsive and I never felt we were waiting for answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Modularity is a double-edged sword. Although Spryker has a lot of OOTB features, you're usually going to have to integrate with many systems. Each of these touchpoints is a point of failure. In addition, the US market is still relatively new for Spryker which required us to decide best-practice in some areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

We appreciate your honest feedback on the limitations of modularity and the potential for integration issues. At Spryker, we strive to provide a balance between out-of-the-box features and the flexibility to integrate with other systems. We understand that every business has unique needs and are committed to providing the support and guidance necessary to navigate these challenges.

"short-term experience about Spryker operations and quality assurance"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Spryker seems to have a flexible architecture concept compared to further vendors in the market. Agile team spirit visible in the quite new Spryker teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Spryker Cloud Commerce OS?

Architecture: PHP and Codecpetion test framework as preferred programming language blocks recruitment of resources from the market. Some code refinements still needed to ensure hollistic, multi-variant country implementations.

Operations and QA: PaaS solution still needs improvements in monitoring (esp. performance monitoring). Offered operation services are quite at the beginning. Experts for Spryker operations in IT market are limited which avoids handovers to further implementation partners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Samuel Pais of Spryker Cloud Commerce OS

Thanks for your review. We decided for codeception as it fits the overall language and design philosophy of our application and technology, yet we encourage every user to apply their preferred testing framework if needed. To mitigate the potential knowledge gap due to the modern architecture of our solution, we increased our efforts that include more learning & documentation material plus training for our partners. In addition, our community team has been extended to create more p2p exchange and knowledge transfer over the next months. Keep the feedback coming and feel free to get in contact with us via your respective Spryker contact.
