The ability to customize a decent amount of the codebases's functionality without overwriting it will probably be my favorite aspect of Spryker once it comes time to upgrade major versions. For the day-to-day side of things, the built-in code style, functionality, and structure tests are helpful in maintaining the current standards when adding new code. The built-in code generators are also a significant help, speeding up the overall pace of development. Spryker's technical support reps are also competent and responsive. As a developer who previously worked with systems such as Magento 1 & 2, the learning process and resources for new Spryker developers are substandard in comparison. What technical documentation Spryker has on its website can be old and inconsistent. The community help forum (which would typically make up for documentation shortfalls) hides messages after 90 days as it is using a free version of slack. Having all that past knowledge become inaccessible is something I would expect a competent software company to rectify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Steep learning curve for PHP developers who are not exposed to entrprise architecture principles (e.g. like Java EE)
Lacks in certain key funcional areas, especially in Marketplace module Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Using Spryker, we can develop to our exact complex specifications while having the ability to replicate the marketplace for future business applications. The modular infrastructure gives us confidence that we will never need to rebuild from scratch again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Spryker typically relies on 3rd party systems to be integrated for robust functionality. If you are relying on out-of-the-box features for a majority of the solution, then Spryker may struggle to meet all of your business requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Spryker makes it easy to manage out of the box as well as individually implemented features and the back end is easy to handle for any user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Implementing new and individually developed features is a not-so-easy task and may require a lot of know-how and development resources. Also, the decision between concrete products or variants when it comes to the way the assortment is displayed has a huge impact on how the search works - and it does not work properly or as expected when you go for variants which is a must for a wide and/or deep product range in order to keep the assortment clear. So the search is a big pain point thet needs to be optimized urgently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The modularity of Spryker makes it a good choice for business. It makes it easy to turn features on and off. Compared to other competitors, the tech stack is more modern, which makes maintenance and security risks more manageable. The documentation is very thorough. The implementation went quickly and smoothly. The Spryker team was able to quickly develop to the needs of our company and handle last-minute changes. Sprykers's communication during the project was amazing. They were responsive and I never felt we were waiting for answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Modularity is a double-edged sword. Although Spryker has a lot of OOTB features, you're usually going to have to integrate with many systems. Each of these touchpoints is a point of failure. In addition, the US market is still relatively new for Spryker which required us to decide best-practice in some areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Spryker seems to have a flexible architecture concept compared to further vendors in the market. Agile team spirit visible in the quite new Spryker teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Architecture: PHP and Codecpetion test framework as preferred programming language blocks recruitment of resources from the market. Some code refinements still needed to ensure hollistic, multi-variant country implementations.
Operations and QA: PaaS solution still needs improvements in monitoring (esp. performance monitoring). Offered operation services are quite at the beginning. Experts for Spryker operations in IT market are limited which avoids handovers to further implementation partners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

State-of-the-art, easy to use and not difficult to maintain. Documentation is available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not something I don't like. It seems pretty good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Future proof architecture will continue to evolve with our business needs and shouldn't require replacing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being a reasonably new eCommerce solution, some integrations with common platforms are entirely new grounds for Spryker Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
