DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD!! Splitit will authorize the full charge on your card every 18 days. This made it so I couldn't use my credit card at all since it was "maxed out". But then they only "charge" your card again for just the payment amount. In my case I used it to make payments on a 6 month tuition payment to simplilearn. The tuition was roughly $6,500, I have to pay $1,500 or so upfront and the monthly payment was $711. So they authorized and charged my card $1,500 up front AND $4,500 for the remaining amount AND $711 for the payment. So my card with a $10,000 limit is now close to maxed out for one $711 payment. I learned what they were doing when my card didn't work at a restaurant. After two weeks, they authorized my card again for $4,500 but did not charge it, and two weeks, they authorized again for $711. But that payment didn't go through because the card company said they thought there was fraud. So Splitit went ahead and charged the whole $4,500 all at once and paid the tuition in full (remember, they already had authorization). Splitit took their fee for financing this and ended up financing nothing.

My credit card company calls them a "high risk" merchant with lots of fraud reports. So I don't likeSplitit, But I also don't like Simplilearn for getting me involved with this scam company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Credit holds for the full amount are put in place immediately and updated to reduce each month. However, the new reduced hold is put in place before the old is removed causing the customer to need a credit line greater than the total purchase price. (Close to 2x: the full amount + the full amount minus one payment)

[!!] This process can force the customer to default even when they have enough credit to cover the next payment. [!!]

(When they don't have enough credit to cover the entire new hold before the old hold is released) This is not intuitive, and almost feels designed to trigger defaults from customers who would otherwise be able to make the payments without issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm always a fan of great service, which Splitit has certainly provided with our complicated implementations, however, that's probably not what you're looking to read about here. Aside from excellent service, it's simply a great payment product that gives your customers the flexibility to pay over time, without hassle, credit checks and insane fees. If I'd have filled this in a couple of months ago, it would have been the Splitit Magento 2 extension because it wasn't fit for purpose, so badly so we couldn't use it and had to build our own integration. However, that's now been rectified and we're incredibly happy with the complete overhaul they've done (listening to their customers' feedback, back to that service thing I mentioned earlier!). I was looking for a way to streamline our cash flow for our business 'BodyJewelry.com'. I came across Splitit's installment payment solution, which is fantastic! We are now able to place a hold on shoppers' credit cards for the total amount which means that we are never paid late and can manage our cash flow more effectively. The most helpful attribute of Split It is its ease of use. For customers and merchants alike, it has an incredibly easy interface that takes away all complication. One of my favourite aspects for consumers is that there is no credit check and also its interest free, which makes the customer feel at ease in terms of affecting their credit score. Personally, its not at any a few sites that I would love to use this at! Let me buy a new TV please! Visually the design could use a bit of work as it seems still in its prototype stages however that doesn't take away from what it actually does.
