Speechmatics’ SaaS offering has enabled us to continue fulfilling our mission of access by allowing NCI to easily scale the use of CaptionSentry, our proprietary ASR captioning service. Although NCI is engine-agile and is committed to using multiple engines as technology evolves and improves, Speechmatics’ SaaS API is currently one of the best options we’ve encountered, and we are extremely pleased with its results and our partnership. One of our primary requests is to be granted better / greater visibility into our usage stats. A dashboard detailing consumption would be very useful. Otherwise, there is very little about which to complain. Speechmatics' staff is flexible, responsive, and motivated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Speechmatics supports high-quality recognition in real-world conversational environments. We depend on a predictable level of accuracy to facilitate our use of machine-learning algorithms in downstream analytical processing. We also find the system to be well-documented and well-supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We sometimes feel there are too many subtle changes in the transcriber's behavior between releases, some of which do not seem necessary to us. And we've been caught in situations where it would be helpful to read the expiry or version number within the recognition results. Resource utilization and performance are adequate, but we find ourselves wishing for GPU support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When we started evaluating speech's transcription engines, speechmatics was always the pioneer and leading giants and provided numerous languages under their packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They haven't improved a lot over the time and their prices have always been on the higher side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While building a system to manage media, I wanted to include automatic full-text transcripts, closed caption, and deep search features, so I researched the available tools and services that could turn recorded speech into computer-friendly text format. For my implementation, a key requirement was that all content needed to stay on-prem, which significantly limited my options as most services are cloud based, but I considered the usual cloud services anyway in the event I had to make a case for them. To my delight, I found that Speechmatics offered a VM appliance that provides staggeringly accurate transcription of media packaged in (among other solutions) an easily-runnable on-prem VM. The appliance ships with a well-documented RESTful API for job submission, webhook callbacks, and timed word-by-word transcript fetching. With it, I was able to build the features I wanted in fairly short order and with minimal fuss, and the accuracy of the transcripts regularly surprises and delights my users. Of all the systems and services I experimented with, Speechmatics' accuracy was the clear leader, and the fact that they could accommodate my on-prem requirements was the cherry on top. Does not yet support making calls to HTTPS servers that use a certificate issued by an in-house certificate authority, which my organization uses, so my media fetching calls have to go over HTTP for now. (Servers with certificates signed by the usual globally-trusted CAs work fine as you'd expect.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
