**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

I use Speechmatics for transcription and translation because it provides high accuracy transcriptions in English and other languages of interest to our business. I find the features for real-time low latency processing very good. The software has stronger features for continuous real-time recognition than most other systems available. I appreciate the strong features in number formatting, punctuation, and diarization. I also value the real-time speech recognition feature highly. Setting up the product has become easier over time with more documentation now available.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

Translation is not as big a focus, our testing program has generally not rated the translation features as highly as the source language transcription. I think this has just been less of a business focus or prioritization for Speechmatics.

**What problems is Speechmatics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Speechmatics for transcription and translation. It provides high accuracy transcriptions in multiple languages and features real-time, low latency processing, which is essential for my business.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

I really appreciate Speechmatics for its really good below word error rate compared to some of the bigger vendors. They've clearly focused on providing high accuracy and good quality speech-to-text for general-purpose use, especially in languages that are generally hard for other vendors. They also excel in more niche languages where there’s probably minimal data. Their ability to handle a variety of dialects and accents with high accuracy has been really critical for us.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

When I initially started working with Speechmatics, they had one of the highest latency levels, which was important for real-time voice. However, this is not an issue anymore.

**What problems is Speechmatics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Speechmatics to transcribe callers and customer requests efficiently, enabling AI voice bots to support customers. It's critical for providing accurate speech-to-text, especially in niche languages with high accuracy in various dialects and accents.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

The ASR solution is provided in a containerized form. The API is easy to use. The collaboration with the contacts at Speechmatics is good. Pricing is fair (although now under pressure from new offers).

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

With the German language model (CPU and GPU), we have not been able to measure any noticeable improvement regarding WER in the latest versions. The language models of other manufacturers are sometimes better for German.

**What problems is Speechmatics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use the Speechmatics SR engine for transcription. A good or accurate transcription with good speaker separation is essential for further processing steps that we offer with our software. The quality of the transcription ultimately determines the satisfaction of the end customers. Although we would also like to have summaries, these are not yet available in a containerized form.

Speechmatics made it very simple to set up AI transcription for our product. As with any integration there where snags, but nothing we couldn't figure out. Overall we're very pleased with the results we are achieving, and very pleased with the help we've gotten from their sales and support departments.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

I love that they provide open source packages for many of the mechanics we need to implement in relation to transcribing audio to text, however we do have some bugs still related to these that we haven't been able to figure out yet.  So far we  can  live with the issues we've experienced.

Speechmatics provides audio transcription in multiple languages so that we can deliver full AI features to our customers.

The high accuracy and quality of live transcription metadata (including speaker detection) has made it possible for DR to develop and deploy a real-time subtitling solution for news, sports and political debates. This is used for national broadcasts in Denmark for approximately 6 hours daily.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

There is nothing I can think of. We have always had good support and input towards future features.

Real-time transcription is used for generating subtitles during live broadcasts. File-based transcription will be used increasingly for preparation of subtitles in pre-recorded programmes.

I really like the support, which is always live, and the fact that Speechmatics is always on. It's particularly valuable for our clients, who are mostly broadcasters and involved in live events. The initial setup of Speechmatics was very easy.

As a regional media monitoring firm with modest IT resources, we appreciate the relative ease of integrating Speechmatics into our broadcast monitoring workflow. Customer support is reliable and provides quick responses. The sales team have been amazing, too, helping us create a service plan that considers both our current business volume and supports our projected growth. And we like what we're seeing with regards to service enhancements and expansion. We hope to be able to take advantage of additional language capabilities soon.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

I appreciate Speechmatics' super accuracy, particularly in the medical domain, which is vital for US healthcare documentation. The product adapts based on the domain due to its advanced language model. The SDK offers great support for Node.js, making integration seamless with effective WebSocket and event management functionalities. I value the enhanced accuracy and flexible pricing that allows selecting models fitting different budgets. The ability to add custom pronunciations further boosts accuracy. Their support team played a significant role during the setup process, which was relatively straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

It can improve on latencies. Currently, it's around sub one second latencies, but they can improve it further to somewhere around four hundred milliseconds. Because I feel Speechmatics is losing the game of voice agent for call centers due to high latency issue. In that particular voice AI agent solutions, the market leader is Deepgram with low latency solutions. But, We trust speechmatics can beat it

**What problems is Speechmatics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speechmatics solves medical dictation and conversational capture accuracy issues for healthcare documentation, reducing error rates to 1%, benefiting healthcare providers with precise data entry into electronic health records.

It delivers highly accurate transcription with very low latency, so the text appears quickly and stays reliable.

It didn't support multichannel audio for live streams, so I had to connect each channel separately. I would love to see them add voice cloning and dubbing features like the ones on ElevenLabs.

Our use case focused on live captioning for broadcasters. Speechmatics generated highly accurate text from the live audio stream, which we converted into captions and delivered on air alongside the video.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

I like it because we use it a the transcription layer to our research tool. It has several languages integrated to it so whenever a user uploads a lecture that has English and French, the system can easily recognize it. Our main usage is the speech to text and its perfect. Lastly, the ease of integration for the API.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

Coming from Africa, we have diverse local languages and this are not recognized in speechmatics. That is one downside we have experienced.

Speechmatics API is allowing our platform(www.databridge.co.ke) to have transcription capabilities so that our users can transcribe their video and audio for research purposes on the platform.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

It has a very high yield on accuracy of transcriptions - much better than any other offering we have reviewed. It offers this yield for English and foreign language voice recordings. It is very easy to use via the browser portal. Production of transcripts are fast and accurate whilst also coping very well indeed with local dialects and accents/tone etc. It seems to also cope very well with voice recordings where background noise is a factor. Original implementation was easy and the support received from Speechmatics, although hardly needed, was excellent.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

If the ability to transcribe the text onto selected document templates held by the end customer then this would be massively beneficial. If it could also do this by applying intelligence to determine what sections of the voice recording to transcribe where on the end customer document templates then this would be fantastic. The ability to fulfil both of those features via an API into the business system of choice (and hosted templates) would be highly desirable. It would trigger a further massive spike in the level of use of Speechmatics for us.

In a nutshell our ability to transcribe dictations internally is now massively faster when using Speechmatics. It incurs a massive productivity gain for our firm and the client services we provide.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

We have used Speechmatics for transcribing recorded stories from our charity's service users. These recordings are often low-quality and featuring strong accents, so other software often struggled... We used to have to manually transcribe (an extremely time consuming task!) but with Speechmatics have been able to speed this up dramatically, while maintaining  accuracy and also producing a subtitle-ready SRT file. Massively recommend.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

We currently use the free plan as it allows us enough audio time for our relatively minimal requirements. We used to be able to download a text file with speakers split, but this feature seems either to have been buried or locked behind the subscription. Not a huge issue as we are still able to copy and paste this text from the output, but a slight loss of streamline.

Streamlining transcription jobs and providing accurate SRT files for video and audio. This has saved us countless hours of manual transcription.

Blazing fast, accurate and stable live and on-demand transcription. It's the best live transcription service we've used so far. It has high language coverage, custom glossaries and speaker diarization, which are essential for live subtitling.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

It would be great to support an arbitrary number of different languages being spoken at the same time - useful for live multilingual events. Nevertheless, I don't know of a competitor that can do this.

**What problems is Speechmatics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're leveraging Speechmatics as part of a Media Localization platform. The use-cases are Live Subtitling, On-Demand Video Subtitling and Voiceover and On-Demand Audio Transcription.

We’ve been using Speechmatics for large-scale audio processing of call recordings, and what really stands out is the accuracy of the transcripts—especially when paired with speaker diarization. The API was straightforward to set up and has been very stable. Overall, it’s been a smooth and reliable integration into our workflow.

The only downside so far is the pricing. While it’s on the higher end, the quality and performance do help justify the cost.

The transcription job is deleted after 7 days, making it necessary to save the transcribed audio and look for another program that can show the word highlighting when playing the audio.

Speechmatic have create a model that is very accurate for small language area (such as Danish), which alone has a high value for us at Zylinc. But the real benefit is the bilingual nature of their model, which helps in scandinavia where english words are adopted quickly and meshed into the native language. Thanks to speechmatics software, we can actually adopt AI as the foundation is now solid enough.

By testing the platform, I realized the effectiveness of the tool, even with interferences, the tool is generally able to bring out the main discussion, very clear in terms of purifying the song. The fact that it is real-time translation allows us to foresee many applications: for the deaf and mute for example, given the speed of the translation, we would get closer to a simple discussion between two people. Therefore, I must also specify that even with all these elements, the platform remains very easy to use with also a support present, making an appointment to exchange with the sales is fast and there is a good number of availability.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

The elements that I could bring up are: the way in which the information is managed (are user discussions recorded, if so for how long, who has access to them, what can you do with them?) then obviously the price too, although the tool is very powerful, it will probably not be open to the general public if the price is too high. One of the elements that I would also like to bring up is the integration capabilities of the technology on solutions developed by other companies, for the moment it is only possible to integrate it with Python, Javascript, .Net and Rust. It's not enough for my taste

I work for a consulting company, and we have internal projects, one of them consists of managing skills files but also taking into account elements during a meeting (teams, google meets ...) and requesting the application to have an answer (containing profiles that correspond to the speech of the interlocution: the client). The platform is therefore used here to do translation on the one hand for English, French, German and Spanish (many clients in the world) and then translate this into a target language: French before making our application ingest its information.

I was amazed by the accuracy of the voice recognition and the authenticity of the generated speech. It was as if actually talking to a real person. Also the response time was fast and I immediately recommended it to people around me to try. I can imagine it being well used in many areas.

Industry-leading speech-to-text technology with exceptional accuracy. Our company needed on premise solution, which was very easy to install using VM or containers. We had specific needs of recognition of names which were efficiently mitigated by usage of specific dictionaries. We only used the real-time speech to text capabilities for interractive and robotic applications.

Real-time speech recognition applications still requires echo-cancellation microphones when using TTS at the same time to work efficiently and we would appreciate effort in "cocktail party" situations where multiple speakers speek at the same time. A first step in this direction is for sure Speechmatics diarization algorithm, that allows tracking and recognition of multiple speakers.

Speechmatics has been a fantastic business partner. We use Speechmatics as the "ears" for our ChatGPT-powered robots that keep telemarketer scammers busy. Speechmatics processes thousands of audio clips each day. The accuracy is amazing - even with low quality international telephone conversations. Speechmatics recognizes acronyms, does proper punctuation, capitalization, and grammer, and recognizes "new" words such as the pandemic-related vocabulary we now use every day. The account team is responsive and support is prompt, helpful, and human. I highly recommend Speechmatics.

No dislikes come to mind. I have not expirimented with non-English yet.

Speechmatics' clever team of developers have found a way to break the invisible wall between low-level speech recognition systems and practical use cases. With their well documented, ever-growing API, Speechmatics offer a complete toolset for any developer wanting to integrate Speech-To-Text to their system.

Not only the quality of transcription is top notch, they are constantly working to release updates, upgrades, and clever features to extend the set of abilities offered by their API and improve the output of their speech to text tool.

There are many ways and many tools to perform Speech Recognition, but Speechmatics seem to be the only ones who understand the vital need for simplicity and efficiency. Their pricing is extremely competitive, and on top of all that, their team is always available for a chat, clearly passionate about their product and willing to go above and beyond to satisfy your business needs.

 We believe they are moving very fast in the best possible direction, and will definitely be a major actor for the years to come in the field of artificial intelligence and automated speech recognition.

As a satisfied customer, we have little to complain about, but would rather offer the suggestion that Speechmatics pursue their efforts in turning what has historically been a "theoretical tool" into a real-life problem solving system, available to all.

**What do you like best about Speechmatics?**

The transcription quality is one of the best I have ever seen. Esspecially for non-english languages (e.g. German, French, Spanish, etc.). It is also strong with English and German dialects and offers advanced features such as Real Time transcription including speaker diarization, custom dictionaries and more.
Also their Customer Success Team is great and there is always someone to talk to in case of problems or questions.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

Some things are not yet automated enough. We have integrated Speechmatic's Services deep into our product and there is no easy overview to see how much usage we produce over time or to automatically upscale or downscale the amount of workers Speechmatics reserves for us. Also Speechmatic's Services are for sure on the more expensive end of the spectrum.

Accuracy is the best in more than 48 languages. We have tested all APIs and they managed welll spoken, slang communication

API is simple to use and to implement. It tooks literraly less than a week to implement everything.

Enterprise support is really doing a great job, great following on presenting new features and the road map. It's the only service where I have that kind of follow up.

After evaluating all the top vendors, it's clear Speechmatics has the best accuracy on the market. Their API was easy to use and even allowed us to pass a reference to our media file from our cloud storage service. Customer support is knowledgeable and responsive and the pricing of the service is competitive.

We have no issues with their service as it meets all of our business needs.

Speechmatics’ SaaS offering has enabled us to continue fulfilling our mission of access by allowing NCI to easily scale the use of CaptionSentry, our proprietary ASR captioning service. Although NCI is engine-agile and is committed to using multiple engines as technology evolves and improves, Speechmatics’ SaaS API is currently one of the best options we’ve encountered, and we are extremely pleased with its results and our partnership.

**What do you dislike about Speechmatics?**

One of our primary requests is to be granted better / greater visibility into our usage stats. A dashboard detailing consumption would be very useful. Otherwise, there is very little about which to complain. Speechmatics' staff is flexible, responsive, and motivated.
