The best thing about Sourcescrub it its extensive private company data and AI driven insights, making deal sourcing seamless. The platform's real-time updates, CRM integration, and niche data from trade shows help uncover hidden opportunities, making it a must have for investment research

Well it is a powerful tool, but it can be pricy for smaller firms. The platform's learning curve can be steep, and sometimes data accuracy or depth varies across industries. More advanced filtering and customisation options would enhance the experience for power users.

Sometimes they do not have a website in their database, but you can always request it to be added at a later date.

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

I appreciate the tagging/list saving and boolean search terms.  Being able to search for companies based on employee size, location, etc. are great at narrowing down quality prospects.  Also, checking trade show lists gives me more prospects to consider when I don't have the right search terms off hand.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

There are still some issues with emails bouncing.  Bounce rates can be as high as 15%.  SS does make it easy to get these fixed, but the issue remains that you have to revisit the same prospects a second time, which can be tedious.

**What problems is Sourcescrub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Source scrub makes sourcing deals a breeze.  1) searching using the boolean search terms means I can exclude specific phrases, and include specific phrases. 2) ease of saving lists/tagging.  I can return to the same search over and over again, and only see newly added companies.  I can easily include/exclude companies I have tagged from this search so there is no duplication of efforts. 3) Ease of export & the wealth of information included in the export.  I can use the export for linkedin URL's, contact info, business descriptions, ownership status & investment firms, and so forth.  This export is then easily imported into my CRM (since there is no integration offered between my software choices).  These efficiencies mean that I can reach out to more potential acquisition targets than before and keep my historical activities organized.

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

The best part about SourceScrub is that it organizes data into sources vs. just using keyword matching, which allows me to identify more similar companies that may not appear similar on the surface. Additionally, it has strong integrations with our Salesforce instance which makes prospect identification more streamlined.

UI is sometimes a bit clunky, but improvements are made here frequently

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

Our target focus is on bootstrapped businesses, and having SourceScrub has been an incredible resource in finding quality companies to go after. The ability to have a filterable, searchable database of companies that fit our criteria has made us so much more efficient, and has increased deal flow quality and quantity.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

The user interface with SourceScrub is not that great. The dashboards can be slow, and scrolling and tagging and other actions can lag and take a while. Although I'm happy with the results from the platform, I sometimes don't want to use the platform because of the clunky UI.

**What problems is Sourcescrub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's hard to find bootstrapped businesses on your own, and having a full , in-depth database filled with companies that fit that criteria has been so helpful. It raises the floor for our BD because we know we're starting with bootstrapped companies, and can filter from there

CRM data enrichment, customer success management, conference attendee list, sourcing new leads and conferences, and creating customizable subscriptions and tags.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

The layout of Sourcscrub isn't intuitive to a new user, so I would suggest having a seasoned coworker teach you or reach out to their customer success reps. They're very responsive which is good.

**What problems is Sourcescrub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to go to more conferences this year and Sourcescrub has been great to finding new conferences that we wouldn't know about. We can also export conference attendee lists to look at which is super helpful when comparing to our CRM.

IT is well organized and rich with easily accessible data. It can be integrated to our CRM pretty seamlessly. The Source Scrub google extension also makes tracking and accurately mapping associated company personnel very easy.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

The listings can sometimes contain inaccurate data or data that is stale. However, the team does do a good job of doing additional research to get the record cleaned up.

**What problems is Sourcescrub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing leads, qualifying leads, and keeping track of a specific ecosystem is most helpful. This has really enabled us to populate our CRM with leads that we can feel confident when completing outreach.

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

Sourcescrub is a key part of the investment process at my fund. Few other tools offer the same breadth of information for proprietary sourcing that SourceScrub does, and the integration of humans into the data ingestion process is something I have found to truly differentiate the data the platform produces.

I like the integration with our CRM the most however, as I am able to quickly scout / screen prospects. This is an essential part of the process for me.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

Some of the financing data on SourceScrub is not updated as frequently as I would like. Often times SourceScrub will report no raises within the last 8 months but I search the name of the company and they raised last month. 

Also, the UI of the extension could use some work. It can be inefficient in my sourcing process due to the number of clicks required to get the info I need. HOWEVER, I did push a number of these complaints to the team and they promptly implemented a number of them. Glad to see they are in-tune with their users.

SourceScrub aggregates, filters, and groups key data points that are relevant to our research process when looking into prospective investments. By providing and integrating this data with our ERP, SourceScrub allows us to increase our sourcing throughput and thus deal flow.

SourceScrub's integration with my CRM allows me to sprint through my work. SourceScrub enables me to expedite repeatable processes in order to find the best prospect.

SourceScrub recommends multiple emails that are not verified. This information ought to be vetted before recommending their contact information. Other than that, the UI is not intuitive.

SourceScrub is help us qualify leads so that advisors (like myself) are not wasting their time on pointless leads. Because of SourceScrub, I get more done in less time.

I find the best thing about SourceScrub is conference scraping, it's extremely easy to export conference lists, including contact information, to excel. Additionally, it's great for finding company contact information in general

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

My least favorite thing about SoureScrub is the search functionality, I find that the suggestions are always in legal names which I'm not as familiar with. Additionally, I sometimes have to refresh before I can make another search which is annoying

When I'm doing sourcing, I want to be able to go to one resource to find all relevant high level info on a company (size, year founded, description, headcount, contact information), and Sourcescrub makes that easy

Sourcescrubs interface is extremely easy to use and the plug in makes information gathering so quick and simple. I also really like the similar company search for target evaluation

I haven't had any major issues yet. I hope they build out the similar company search though so it becomes more reliable/better at combing website data as sometimes it can be pretty off as you go down the list

We use it for market mapping mainly and finding contact level information. I really like how good their data is on PE backed players in the space because it allows us to know who else is in the industry.

I have used the solution largely to find BD targets at my middle-market bank. What makes SourceScrub unique is its integration with LinkedIn to get the employee headcount information. I have found that this is the best proxy for company size without having to look at companies in-detail.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

It is difficult to supplement screens done on Pitchbook or CapIQ with SourceScrub. Often times I am interested in combining the screens that I do on other platforms with that of Sourcescrub, but you can only transfer the companies that have the same link on Sourcescrub as they do on the other sources, making it inconsistent and under capture.

Helping get more information about companies that are not captured on other platforms. Sourcescrub does a great job at getting comprehensive info on companies that may not be captured on other sites.

Comprehensive database of privately owned businesses with well indexed search functionality that allows efficient market mapping and target finding for businesses that are traditionally hard to source.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

The CRM integration does not include mapping to all fields we have in our salesforce system. Could have more mappable fields to bring into Salesforce.

Finding privately owned businesses in our area of investment are traditionally hard to find, and take many hours of google searching and other search metholds. Sourcescrub essentially does this for us.

Search and screening features to find relevant companies is great within SourceScrub, better than other platforms I have used. The U/I is also very easy to learn.

Generally, I find the data on the investments/acquisitions information to be less reliable than a system like PitchBook.

Finding founder owned businesses, canvassing markets, and finding lists of conference attendees. It streamlines all of these activities and makes the search process more efficient.

I didn't like the fact that source Scrub is a bit expensive , especially for small businesses or individuals who don't have a lot of budget for marketing research.

The benefits of Source Scrub have benefited my company in terms of identifying new business opportunities and maintaining competitiveness in our industry. While there is room for improvement in terms of data accuracy and price, I believe that the advantages of using SourceScrub outweigh any disadvantages

SourceScrub is extremely benifitial to our cold outreach efforts. We find leads to put in our pipeline for business development emails. We source about 500 top funnel leads each week.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

The downside of SourceSrcrub is that some business flow through a search filter and are irrelevant. It's hard to sit and filter all results, so we sometimes get email replies to our BD efforts saying their business doesn't fit the subject category.

We utilize the SourceScrub search function to tag industries that we target for our BD. We generate lists that we then send industry reports, deal announcements and other service offerings to.

Easy to use, has conference information which is super helpful for us to plan conference visits. Has private companies that may not show up in CapIQ sometimes. Unique data sources as compared to some competitors

Functaionalities are still super spare. feels like a point solution than a complete platform. I cannot rely on only sourcescrub for stuff and there are limited integration with CRM/Outlook. User interface is not that intuitive (for example how to i save a company???)

we needs to know which conferences the sector we are tracking attend so we can go and meet company in person. But that's it. It falls short as a platform we will use consistently for sourcing function

Easy to mark companies to track and make personal lists of companies. Sourcing is much easier than using excel lists, etc. The Google Chrome add-in is the best feature offered. Just click the sidebar and you can see fundraising, employees, etc.

Search function can be difficult since you sometimes need the exact business name (legal name / incorporation name) to find a company

Sourcescrub has more accurate funding and company ownership data than platforms I have worked with. It also syncs weekly with our CRM to keep funding and personal data up to date.

The company descriptions are not always accurate and the UI has not been updated in a while from my understanding. Their emails have not been accurate in my experience.

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

I use the Google Plug-in the most. It is very convenient to find quick information on a company's website (leadership contact info, previous funding, relevant news, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

It would be nice if I could import a CSV of companies into SourceScrub to collect information. The current process requires a lot of "if/and/or" logic to be added in a line. This can get confusing, lengthy, and complicated.

SourceScrub allows me to gain a significant amount of information on interesting companies without going through an extensive process. It has certainly saved me time!

Serach engine is a great feature of Sourcescrub. Personally, working as an investor focused on b2b software, the platform allows me to look for companies that are operating out of Israel.

I do not dislike anything about the product. Nonetheless, I would appreciate if additional information regarding companies financials would be available. Although I know that most are private and hence its not easy.

Use Sourcescrub's help desk in case you face any issues or have any questions. They are super helful.

I save a ton of time using sourcescrub, rather than manually pulling data or scraping various sources. The ability to search across the database or find relevant industry conferences helps us identify high quality prospects. The datapoints on each company saves us from wasting our time on unqualified opportunities.

I wish that there was more flexibility in how you can search and monitor sources/conference lists over time. Some common workflows can require manual steps that greatly increase the time required to complete.

The data points for each company are detailed and up to date. There is also a large database of privately held companies which is very useful for identifying targets.

Sometimes you will come across emails that have not been verified, which give you a bounce. However, the research team has pretty quick turnover so those bounced emails can be corrected.

Take a demo with the team, the platform is pretty simple to use for the most part.

Its a no frills platform that removes all the extra fluff that other platforms come with. Its straight to the poin and shows the company attributes that I care most about. The contact info is generally more accurate than Pitchbook too!

**What do you like best about Sourcescrub?**

SourceScrub is the most essential piece to our PE tech-stack related to sourcing. The platform helps us identify, screen and target companies in my firm's sector areas. In addition providing contact info for 1-2-3 leaders at these private companies is critical in making our business development team effective and efficient in not only targeting but also in contacting companies. Moreover, SourceScrub gives us an automated way to update our internal CRM with data points on target companies such as when a company's employee base grows/shrinks, when the ownership may change, or when a company plans to attend an upcoming conference.

Over the course of the year, SourceScrub likely saves me weeks of time that I can now spend on higher value activities such as actually talking to companies. When I think about dollars, weeks of a team member's salary compared to our investment in SourceScrub is an absolute no brainer. 

I'll end by saying that without SourceScrub my job would be less effective and so much harder. At my prior firm, where I was also a customer of SourceScrub, I actually got into a fight with my boss over it. After showing him the value of it in dollars and cents, he conceded and gave me the budget to purchase SourceScrub. After joining my current firm 3 years ago, I made clear in the interview process that on day 1 we needed to become a SourceScrub customer, that was a must for me to do my job well. Fortunately, the firm I'm at now saw the value in the platform right right away and we purchased SourceScrub in my first week of employment at my firm. 

If sourcing companies is a part of your firm, which it should be for all firms, then SourceScrub is a necessary tool that your firm needs to have. I've not been a SourceScrub customer across two firms over 4 years, and I will be for the remainder of my career.

**What do you dislike about Sourcescrub?**

SourceScrub is continually updating and improving their product and offering. Is everything perfect now, no, but no platform is a silver-bullet. But for this purpose, it's the best I've experienced and my peers agree with me. It shouldn't be compared to a pitchbook or capIQ or zoominfo, those are all valuable, but they are completely different solutions and provide different areas of value.

You need to evaluate SourceScrub with the lens of time. How much time will it save you? How much more effective will it make you and your team

**What problems is Sourcescrub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to understand which companies are attending a specific conference we're exploring attending and which of those companies could be a target for our firm is an enormous time-saver. To give an example, I can take a conference with 500+ total exhibitors and find the specific # which fit within the size range, geography and ownership dynamics that my firm looks for. From there we can take the narrowed down # and shrink it even further after reviewing the companies' descriptions to get to a smaller # of companies that we actually feel are worth reaching out to in advance of a conference. Once conference I reviewed yesterday for example had 450 exhibitors, and in 2 minutes I narrowed it down to 67 that were worth me reviewing. After reviewing the 67, I tagged 36 companies that were interesting to my firm in 20-30 minutes. This process without the SourceScrub platform would require me to click on 450 websites, research all rather than 67. Before I had sourcescrub, planning for a conference and determing the companies we want to spend time on took half a day if not more. With SourceScrub, that 5+ hours of work is now roughly 30 minutes.

The company screening page should be more robust. Should be more similar to CapitalIQ. I find that our screens tend to miss target companies, so there should be more ways to search using keywords.

The platform offers streamlined insights into private companies that are easy to review, sync with Salesforce or filter larges lists of companies. They also provide custom research for companies that are not on the platform.

The Salesforce integration could be more customizable allowing you to choose how each data point syncs, right now you can all pick the behavior at the top level but you may want to customize it per field. Also, adding the ability to search companies by types of lists they show up in would be great (show all companies in a Gartner list.)
