What do you like best about Avidemux?

What do you dislike about Avidemux?

Whoever uses it initially when working with an unusual video format will need to download additional code.

What problems is Avidemux solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since it doesn't require any additional specialised software and has a slow response time, Avidemux is perfect for quick video editing and decompilation. Converting or reformatting the video or audio I received from my clients really helps me. Because open-source software can be used without cost, it is its main advantage. Avidemux does not provide the facility of batch processing, Intricate and confusing cut features, filters couldn't be previewed properly, and No more than one filter is allowed to be applied

What do you like best about Avidemux?

Avidemux is incredibly intuitive and simple to use; there was essentially no learning curve necessary to overcome before I was able to edit and encode videos for my specific needs. Also - it's free! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Avidemux?

There's not much to dislike with Avidemux - if a modern, sleek User Interface is necessary for your taste in software, then Avidemux will disappoint. I did not mind the basic UI but can see how some would consider it an eyesore after extended use. Also, while I did not encounter any issues while using Avidemux I'd imagine Support may be a bit slow considering it is free software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Avidemux:

If efficiency and lightweight software is of priority, I wholeheartedly recommend Avidemux. If you want to look at something pretty while editing your videos, this may not be for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Avidemux?

Avidemux is one of a small list of software that I always install first in my new pcs. There is certainly other software that I use when I'm doing professional video editing, but nothing beats Avidemux for quick cutting or recoding of videos. You can use it to easily extract audio tracks that you need to edit separately. You can export the final video in the most commonly used formats. To speed up the exporting, you can also easily set the process priority during the process.

In few words, this is not the most powerful tool that you could use, but the one you'll end using the most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A no-Frills Tool for Quick Video Edits"

What do you like best about Avidemux?

Avidemux has two main advantages: Its a free program and it is a small file size. For the most part, the tool isn't really anything you wouldn't have in a heavier system like Premier or After Effects, but its also substantially cheaper. I use it mostly to change the file type of a video file or change to codecs. It also allows some basic edits and changes which are helpful for clipping a few seconds off a spot or resizing the frame for a certain purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Avidemux?

The GUI is pretty basic and is pretty hard to understand. There's a lot of options available that don't make sense unless you know what you're doing. (And I suspect if you know what you're doing with many of these options you probably use one of the professional video editing suites.) The actual edits you can make are pretty simple (crop, shift, etc.), so it really is only useful for decoding a video file, not as a full video editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Avidemux:

Avidemux is free so there's not much risk in trying it out. But, if you have better video editing software that can reformat your videos, stick with that. However, if you don't have the budget (or skill) to use Adobe CC or other editing software, then consider Avidemux to help speed along your work flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Avidemux solving and how is that benefiting you?

Some video files we receive are coded with the wrong audio codecs or are saved in the wrong file type (Usually .mov, .qt, .m4v). Rather than sending the video file back for re-edits or send it to Creative to have them re-format the video before using it on Social or in Web Design, we use Avidemux to reformat the video for use.
