We couldn't find one that ticked ALL the boxes; none linked to ClickUp and some weren't fully customisable (even ClickUp itself). We decided to speak to Softr and look into purchasing Airtable but on the call they said we would be able to link to ClickUp as our data source within 2 weeks, negating the need for Airtable ... they delivered! to the day! It's incredibly easy to use, secure, modern, and fully customisable. Support is quick and excellent. They extended the trial for us TWICE as one of our sticking points was comments but they have found us a workaround and said the comment issue will be fixed in 1-2 weeks - I believe them. I cannot recommend it more. **What do you dislike about Softr?** I honestly haven't found anything I dislike. There are some bugs, like any platform, but they are fixing them fast and providing workarounds. **What problems is Softr solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's linking seamlessly to our project management platform (ClickUp) and enabling us to create a fully customised Client Portal for our clients to collaborate with us and view their security posture. ### 2. I've tried to develop my applications with many other tools but here we are at another level. Even as a company we are slowly recreating on Softr applications that we had created with other tools. The few times I needed customer service it was simple and fast and they brilliantly solved my problems due to my inexperience. In this period I am using Softr every day and it has become an indispensable tool for me. It is complete in every part and its features are so broad that I have not yet been able to test them all. Very convenient to be able to develop for any type of device. Implementation of new features is quick and easy, have built complex flows for a two-sided marketplace. **What do you dislike about Softr?** In comparison with Glide and WeWeb there are certain gaps in functionality and what can be done. I think the team will continue expanding the functions you cna deploy via Softr, however the more options there are the more complex the platform will become. Looking forward how this will play out as Softr is very easy to use at the moment. yet to see how the platform performs with mass usage and frequent log-ins. **What problems is Softr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Softr is helping me to build the functional side of a two-sided service based marketplace. As such website requires two different user types and for them to engage with each other and exchange work it has been very useful to do tis on Softr. Softr has the sweet middle line where the platform and the app builder is not too difficult for non-tech founders to crack on and build their MVP, while offers just enough functionality without the need to deploy custom code, which comes at price - external hire. I found other platforms either too detailed, which forced me to spend too much time in small details as pixels counts or were too basic and didn't offer enough flexibility when building more complex engagements between the two different user groups, so specific for a marketplace. ### 6. Features that would typically take a day or two to develop can be shipped quickly with Softr. Softr has analyzed real use cases and provides blocks that are realistic and practical, not too abstract. The support team is also very responsive, which is extremely helpful. **What do you dislike about Softr?** Softr has quite a few bugs at the moment. Coming from a developer background, I was able to spot bugs very easily, and over the course of just 2-3 weeks, I found and reported at least eight bugs that impacted functionality. These bugs can be solved easily with testing, which by the community response, they don't seem to be doing... Softr ships features fast, but with bugs. Whilst also breaking features/functionalities else where... The UI is also not very user-friendly. It feels very basic and “bootstrappy.” For example, when creating sections in forms, if I need to move an item to another section, I have to delete and recreate it. The forms’/modal UX is especially frustrating, and the same applies to many other parts of Softr’s UI. They really need to hire a dedicated tester to polish everything. A good comparison is Softr Databases versus Airtable. Airtable has a much more advanced UI and feels like everything has been carefully considered.Even though Softr Databases is at a very early stage. The UI is extremely simple, and very similar to Softr Apps (Not a good thing). Softr really needs to implement Airtable-like UX across both Softr Apps and Softr Databases. However, my biggest frustration with Softr is that you can only write to one data source at a time. For example, in a form, I want to write both to the Customer/User table and the Purchase table at the same time, but I can’t. Doing this with related records is not ideal, since that would be dynamic, not static. But I still want to track our customers and clients with related records... Another example: I have split my purchase table into two—“Purchase Details” and “Purchase One-time Customers.” I am not able to write to both tables at once without automations. Sometimes we need to store customer info like the address in the details table because it can change over time in the customer table. I hope that makes sense. If it were possible to write to multiple tables at once, my experience with Softr would improve drastically, and I am sure at least 50% of the current users would agree. As it is, I have to create at least 40 automations to achieve the advanced functionality we want for our fast-growing company. **What problems is Softr solving and how is that benefiting you?** Softr solves the problem of building simple features quickly and making them available to our clients and customers in just a few days. Our company’s operations are dynamic: our staff, guidelines, and steps often change, so our systems need to adapt quickly. With Softr, we can make changes rapidly and save a lot of money compared to hiring full-time developers. Building features with a traditional backend would probably take 1-2 weeks, but with Softr, we can implement most changes in just 2-4 days.
