"Excellent for Analytics: Transparent Costs, Easy UI, and Straightforward Integrations"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake is excellent for analytical workloads. The cost is relatively transparent, and there are plenty of tools available to help optimize both cost and performance. The UI is easy to use, and integration with 3rd-party vendors is straightforward. You can also easily access data that is external to Snowflake, which helps reduce vendor lock-in risk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

By the nature of being a cloud vendor, the UI has limitations in that it is browser based. This is the same story though for all cloud based data processing platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Maximum Performance with Minimum Maintenance"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

The biggest value Snowflake provides is how it removes the 'heavy lifting' of data management. The UI (Snowsight) is incredibly intuitive features like the Performance Explorer and built-in Worksheets mean I rarely have to leave the browser to get meaningful work done.

From a Performance standpoint, the separation of compute and storage is a game-changer; I can run heavy ELT processes without ever lagging our BI dashboards. We’ve also seen a massive boost in AI/Intelligence workflows thanks to Cortex AI and Snowpark, which allow us to run LLM functions and Python logic directly on our data without the security risk of moving it to external servers.

The Integrations are seamless, particularly the Data Marketplace, which has saved us weeks of engineering time by allowing us to 'mount' third-party data instead of building custom APIs. While the Pricing model requires some oversight, the ROI is clear: we’ve replaced three legacy tools with one platform, and the Auto-budgeting features keep costs predictable. Finally, the Onboarding experience was surprisingly smooth; the documentation is so thorough that we rarely need to contact Support, but when we do, they are fast and technically sharp Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

The main challenge I would say is the consumption-based pricing model, which can lead to unpredictable costs if you aren’t extremely diligent with resource monitors and auto-suspend settings. It's very easy for a developer to accidentally leave a large warehouse running or write an unoptimized query that eats up credits faster than expected. Nothing else comes to the mind for now. "SQL-Agnostic, Easy to Adopt, and Packed with Capabilities"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake is SQL-agnostic, so you don’t need to learn other programming languages to get started. It’s an easy ecosystem to enter and stay in. A lot of open-source tools natively support Snowflake, like dbt, Dagster, and Fivetran. Snowflake also has built-in AI features like Cortex code, which is very good to use. On top of that, there’s a wide variety of capabilities—such as API integrations, external stages, different user profiles, and security policies—and all of these can be

implemented using just SQL.

the user experience has been good with the introduction of workspaces , i am loving this new workspaces layout where i can structure and store my files in an organized way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

I really liked snowflake as a data warehouse but there are too many features are open source tools all bundled inside snowflake , and snowflake has introduced a lot of AI features like cortex analyst which are good for UI friendly POC's but I prefer code-agnostic tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scalable, Seamless, and Cost-Effective Data Warehousing"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

I really enjoy Snowflake's scalability and performance, which have streamlined our data analytics process. The way it handles large volumes of data without compromising speed is impressive. I appreciate the seamless integration with our existing tools, making life so much easier. I also really enjoy Snowflake's automatic scaling, like having a super smart assistant that adjusts resources based on demand. The data sharing feature is a game-changer for collaboration with partners and internal teams; it works seamlessly. Snowflake's solid integrations with tools like Tableau and Power BI make visualization and gaining insights a breeze. The initial setup was pretty straightforward thanks to their solid documentation and helpful team, allowing us to start loading and querying data within a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

Honestly, one thing that can be a bit of a pain is Snowflake's cost management - it can get tricky to optimize costs, especially with complex queries or large data volumes. And sometimes, the learning curve for advanced features can be a bit steep, especially for new users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Data Warehouse with Fast Analytics"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

I use Snowflake as a data warehouse for analytics and debugging queries on production data. I find it pretty fast, even for big, complicated queries, which is very valuable to me. The web UI is solid, making my interaction with the software pleasant. I also appreciate the handy SQL extensions that make coding a little easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

I would love more SQL extensions (like SELECT * EXCLUDE or UNION BY NAME). Also it's frustrating when someone is running a very long-running query and causes my queries to be delayed. Basically, I wish it had all the fancy extensions that DuckDB has. For example, DuckDB lets you use dot notation to call functions (i.e., s.upper() instead of upper(s)), which is nice. Also, it would be very handy if you could somehow make temp tables local to a specific session. I sometimes would like to save something in a temp table, but then I have to move to a schema that I have write access on, which is a bit annoying. Also, it would be very neat if you could give the optimizer hints about whether or not to materialize CTEs. Occasionally it makes the wrong decision and makes queries that should be fast take forever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Analytics and Fast Scaling with Snowflake"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake is very easy to use and quick to implement compared to traditional data warehouses. I like how compute and storage are separated, which makes scaling simple and cost-efficient for different workloads. Integration with BI tools and cloud services is smooth, and query performance is consistently strong. Because of its simplicity and reliability, it’s used very frequently for analytics and reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

Cost can become difficult to track, especially with frequent queries and multiple users running workloads at the same time. Some advanced features require a deeper understanding to optimize properly, and debugging performance issues isn’t always straightforward. While support and documentation are good, fine-tuning usage to control costs takes effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Scalable, Low-Maintenance Data Warehouse with Smooth Sharing and Integrations"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

Ease of use / low maintenance – no infrastructure to manage, which is a big relief compared to traditional data warehouses.

Separation of storage and compute – lets you scale performance independently and avoid resource contention.

Performance & scalability – fast queries, especially with large datasets.

Concurrency handling – multiple teams can query data at the same time without slowing each other down.

Simple data sharing – sharing datasets across teams or even organizations is unusually smooth.

Pay-as-you-go pricing – you only pay for what you use, which feels efficient (when managed well).

Strong ecosystem & integrations – works well with modern data tools (dbt, BI tools, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

Semi-structured data isn’t always as smooth as advertised

JSON handling is powerful but can become awkward in complex transformations

Limited control compared to traditional systems

You don’t control the underlying infrastructure

Harder to fine-tune at a low level

Data governance & complexity at scale

Managing roles, permissions, and data access can get messy

Especially painful in large organizations with many teams Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Scalability and Fast Analytics with Snowflake"
What do you like best about Snowflake?

Snowflake's simplicity combined with powerful scalability. It separates compute and storage, making it easy to scale performance up or down on demand without complex infrastructure management, while delivering fast, reliable analytics on large volumes of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Snowflake?

Cost predictability. Because compute usage is consumption-based and can scale very easily, it’s also easy for queries, poorly optimized workloads, or multiple teams to drive up costs unexpectedly without strong governance and monitoring in place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
