There are many things that i love about snapmirror its hard to pick where to start. First, the ease of use for setup. Second, the natural integration into flex-clone technology for testing your snapmirror without breaking the mirror itself. The integration through powershell API's, the list could go on. This is by far the best native solution for shipping your data between netapps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I honestly haven't found much that I haven't liked. I think the only thing I didn't care for at first was some of Netapp's online documentation was a little sparser that I would have liked, but after my first insight conference, I got what I really needed to understand it properly. So it was mostly a user issue, but it would be nice to flesh out the documentation a bit better, imo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it is simple to set up from the GUI, extremely stable and reliable and that it integrates with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like that you can't see how much data is left to transfer during sync. You can't see anything from the GUI besides lag time, and you need to go to the CLI to even see how much data has been transferred so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Snapmirror is simple to use and provides BCDR capabilities from a single pane of glass. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
its difficult to provide a dislike for an enterprise grade replication capability - nothing, it's great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once set up properly, it works great and is very reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making changes is not intuitive, and near impossible to do correctly. It is easier to set up a totally new instance, but then all of the data needs to be transferred again, which is aggravating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
