## Snagit Reviews
 ### 1. Snagit Makes High-Volume Screenshots Fast, Accurate, and Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander S. | CEO/Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is one of the most reliable and useful pieces of software I use every day. As a software developer who heavily uses AI, I take snapshots of my work tens—if not hundreds—of times a day. With Snagit, I’ve turned that into a smooth, repeatable process using a simple keyboard shortcut.

Best of all, Snagit intelligently selects just the part of the screen I’m trying to capture. I honestly don’t know how it consistently finds the right area, but it does an amazing job. I rarely, if ever, need to manually adjust the selection. And it does it quickly and easily, with hardly ever any issues.

Consider how much I use it, Snagit's got the best ROI of any software out there.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit’s image gallery used to take forever to load, but the most recent version has finally addressed that problem. Otherwise, I truly have no issues with Snagit.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is the best screen capture tool I’ve used, and it helps me be a more productive developer and communicator.

 ### 2. Intuitive Captures and Phenomenal Editing in SnagIt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leanetta M. | Human Resources Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love that SnagIt lets me choose exactly how I want to capture my Snag. I can grab a specific section, the entire page, or a scrolling page to capture more information and videos. The editing features are phenomenal and very user-friendly. I don’t need a guide to figure out how to use the product; it’s truly intuitive. Additionally, saving Snags is a breeze. There is a long list of formats available so that I can use the Snags on any other program I need.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I honestly haven’t found anything it can’t do that I need from a program like this.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My use case for getting it is to create presentations and guides for my company. The way it benefits me day to day is that I can quickly create tutorials showing how to do something. I can capture it in SnagIt, edit it, paste it into an email, and I’ve taught someone how to complete a process in the fastest and most efficient way possible.

 ### 3. Snagit Makes Screenshot, Video, and Annotation Workflows Fast and Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** derek c. | engineering manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I’ve been using Snagit for a while, and it’s become one of those tools I reach for almost every day. It makes it incredibly easy to capture screenshots, record quick videos, and annotate images with arrows, callouts, and text. That alone saves me a ton of time when I’m putting together training documents, troubleshooting issues, or walking coworkers through a process.

The interface feels intuitive, and the editing tools are strong without being overwhelming. The image quality is excellent, too. What I appreciate most is how fast the whole workflow is—I can capture, edit, and share what I need without bouncing between multiple programs.

If you regularly create documentation, provide technical support, or simply need to communicate visually, Snagit is well worth the investment. It’s reliable, user-friendly, and easily one of the best productivity tools I’ve used. Highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The software suddenly closes and then reboots.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit makes creating PowerPoint presentations super easy. Cutting and pasting is a breeze, which makes the whole process feel quick and straightforward.

 ### 4. Easy to Learn, Fair Pricing, and Huge Timesaver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dee D. | IT Application Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

How easy it is to learn and the amount of training resources available. The price is fair and we recently transitioned to an enterprise account so that we can expand its use to other departments. Integrates will with Microsoft and easily drag/drop info to Teams to send out training/support documents.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit - no dislikes. Camtasia - not sure if it's my device (but it's new and met the recommended requirements) or the platform, but it takes longer than I would like to load

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in IT as an applications manager. Creating support tools and training guides is a huge part of my job, and Snagit is an immediate timesaver. I can create a 30 second gif to show quick processes all the way to a step by step guide for a software go-live in no time. Funny enough, I used Snagit with a previous employer and asked for it to be included in my offer letter for my current role.

 ### 5. Intuitive, Reliable Screenshot Capture and Editing for Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tammy P. | Technical Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is pretty intuitive to use. It's great for capturing screenshots quickly and reliably, as well as editing them for use in product documentation.

It also has features like Simplify, which lets you replace any text elements in your screenshot with basic shapes, to give the general idea without giving details, and Smart Redact, which can automatically detect sensitive information like email addresses, phone numbers, etc., that you might want blurred out of a screenshot.

The pricing is also super reasonable, considering how much use I get out of it.

And finally (although I probably should have mentioned this first), installation and getting started were super simple and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One thing that would be super useful that Snagit doesn't have is the ability to use layers in images. It's not the most important thing, but being able to layer my images would allow me to reuse elements more easily.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a technical writer, I need to capture screenshots of the products I document on a daily basis. Snagit makes the process of capturing and editing my screenshots simple and fast. Instead of taking half an hour to edit an image in photoshop or paint, I can capture it with Snagit, then use the Snagit Editor (which automatically opens up when I create a new capture), to edit my image in a few minutes and have it ready for use in my documentation.

 ### 6. The tool I always come back to.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nuno L. | CEO and Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is that it combines simplicity with a very wide range of powerful features. Despite everything it can do, the user interface remains clear, intuitive, and easy to use.

The software is reliable, performs very well, and rarely causes any issues. I have hardly ever needed support because it simply works as expected. It saves me a lot of time and allows me to create high-quality content quickly and efficiently. Considering its capabilities, I also find the price reasonable and the overall return on investment very good.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There is very little I dislike about Snagit. The interface could perhaps look a bit more modern and visually polished, but this is a minor point. What matters most is that it is an excellent and reliable tool. I have tried several alternatives, but I always end up coming back to Snagit because it is the most practical and complete solution for my needs.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

n my line of work, I often need to create step-by-step manuals, document procedures that I do not perform regularly, and record presentation videos explaining how certain software works.

Snagit allows me to do all of this, and more, without spending days on the process or putting in a huge amount of effort. It helps me create clear, professional documentation quickly, saves me a lot of time, and makes it much easier to share knowledge and repeat occasional tasks correctly.

 ### 7. Exploring the Power of Snagit: Integrations, Performance, Support, and AI Features

With excellent support resources and AI-driven enhancements, Snagit empowers users to create stunning visuals efficiently and effectively. If you're looking for a comprehensive tool for your visual content needs,

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I don't like that many of the figures and additional tools in Snagit require more money or that we need to buy additional packages. It would be nice to have more free packages for the Snagit Editor to download free themes and tools. More options from the beginning would be great.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit simplifies editing screenshots with highlights, figures, and cropping tools. It handles side-by-side comparisons and video recordings effortlessly. I dislike that many tools require additional purchases.

 ### 8. Powerful Screen Capture and Annotation Tool (my recommendation)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas M. | Services Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like most about Snagit is how quickly it helps me capture, edit, and explain information visually. I regularly use scrolling capture along with annotations, arrows, callouts, and the blur tool to create clear, polished screenshots without needing separate editing software. The interface is straightforward, and being able to capture exactly the area I need saves me time compared with taking screenshots first and then editing them manually. Overall, it has improved my workflow because I can produce professional-looking guides, evidence screenshots, and step-by-step instructions much faster.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit can feel pricey for occasional users, especially when so many basic screenshot tools are available for free. Some of the more advanced features also take time to find, and the editor can feel a bit cluttered at first glance. I’d appreciate clearer onboarding that highlights the lesser-known tools, stronger cloud integration, and more transparent explanations of exactly which features are included in each pricing plan.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Snagit, I would take basic screenshots and then rely on separate tools to crop them, annotate, blur sensitive information, and combine multiple images. Snagit pulls all of those steps into a single, smoother workflow. I can capture scrolling pages, highlight key details, add arrows or short explanations, and redact private information quickly. It saves me time and helps me produce clearer guides, evidence screenshots, coursework materials, and instructions that are easier for other people to follow.

 ### 9. Snagit: Easy, High-Quality Captures That Save Me Time Every Day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara S. | Product Learning Enablement Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is incredibly easy to use, and the quality of the screenshots and video captures I get means I spend far less time editing afterward. For how inexpensive it is, it’s a no-brainer. I work in SaaS and use it every single day—whether I’m creating product images for a Help Center article, making GIFs for a product tour or marketing email, putting together graphics for a presentation deck, or simply recording my screen to show something to a colleague quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

My only dislike is the formatting of the Step Capture. I wish it was easier to tailor to my needs so I could more quickly generate Help Center articles by clicking through a software product. It would be insanely helpful, even if I could just train it to format the end product more closely to what I need and make it something I could copy and paste into another place while keeping the images. Would be even better if it gave me the option to turn still shots into GIFs, too.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it easier than ever for me to get high-quality images and GIFs of our software product and use them in so many different ways.

 ### 10. Snagit: Fast, Intuitive Screenshot Capture with Pro-Level Annotations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gal S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit makes capturing and annotating screenshots incredibly fast. The editor is intuitive, and tools like arrows, callouts, and step numbering make it easy to create clear, professional visuals for documentation and training materials. The scrolling capture and video recording features have saved me a ton of time compared to other tools I've tried. It's reliable, performs well even with large images, and the one-time licensing model makes it a great value compared to subscription-based alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn't much to complain about, but a few things could be better. The organization panel for managing large libraries of captures can feel a bit clunky when you have hundreds of files. Also, some of the more advanced editing features have a learning curve at first. Occasionally the app can feel a little heavy on system resources when running alongside other software, but it hasn't been a dealbreaker.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Snagit, creating clear documentation and training materials meant switching between multiple tools for capturing, editing, and annotating images, which was slow and inconsistent. Now I can capture, mark up, and export visuals in one workflow, which has cut the time I spend creating how-to guides and bug reports significantly. It's also made communicating with teammates and clients much clearer, since a quick annotated screenshot or short screen recording often replaces a lengthy written explanation.

 ### 11. Snagit Makes Documentation Easy with Powerful Features and Great Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua H. | Systems Administrator III, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is incredibly helpful in terms of capturing all of the documentation that I need for helpful how-tos and has a plethora of features as well as ease of use. The interface is very simple and easy to use. It's priced very well and affordable for my day to day. Their support is fast in the event I've ever needed additional assistance. My biggest point of concern was how it would've negatively affected my system performance, but it didn't use up any of my resources negatively.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There's not very much that Snagit couldn't do for me and I didn't find myself disliking anything about Snagit.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is solving being able to accurately capture documentation for me and step by steps of how-to. It's benefitted me because it eliminates back and forth of showing someone how to do something.

 ### 12. Easy, Fast, and Great Value—Snagit Is a Daily Essential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hillary R. | Associate Trainer - AI for EAs, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is easy and fast to use with great drag-and-drop functionality. Support is easy to access and there are a lot of excellent training sessions available for a deeper dive.

I've been using Snagit for a long time, brought it to two companies I worked for, and now use it in my own company. It's an amazing value and I use it every day in my work.

Another reason I love Snagit is because the company values user input and uses it to improve the product.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I think the only thing I can say I dislike is that sometimes it takes the picture before I'm really ready but that is most likely a me issue and not a Snagit one!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit allows me to create effective workflows in a fraction of the time it used to take.
I create a lot of social media graphics using Snagit and love that it is so easy to add text and arrows so the image is good to go.
Snagit is a huge time and money saver for me across all the work I do on a daily basis - I don't need an expensive suite of tools to accomplish professional-looking graphics and images.

 ### 13. Intuitive, Well-Documented Tool That Integrates Seamlessly with macOS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Puneet J. | Associate Professor of Finance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

The software's UI is very intuitive, the Help files are excellent (i.e., you can read it and figure out the solution), and it has all the tools one needs (esp. if you're teaching online). I started using it during the pandemic and have continued to do so. Integrates very well with macOS.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The shift to an annual subscription model is one thing that I absolutely hate. It seems to be a general trend. I wish they'd come up with a "Basic" version that has a one-time fee. That would be sufficient for my needs since I usually don't need the new features in the latest version.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking screen shots esp. the "rolling window" ones. That's the best feature since information that I need doesn't fit on one screen.

 ### 14. Super Easy Screen Recording with Powerful Sharing and Annotations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave W. | Owner / Designer / Writer, Online Media, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It's super easy to use. It automatically uploads images/videos to screencast.com for easy sharing. You can export the files in a myriad of ways. There are tons of annotation and markup options. There are also a few simple improvements for video screencasts. It's such a great tool for making tutorial videos that capture your screen.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The video editing could be a little bit better. Unfortunately, you have to pay for Camtasia if you want more advanced video editing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a web design business where I often teach clients how to make edits to their site. It's fantastic for creating these tutorials. And I'm able to charge a premium since they love what I provide them, and host it all on screencast.com for them to access at any time.

 ### 15. My "desert island" software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dana T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I am still a nearly daily user of Snagit, and still a fan. Will hopefully never have to let it go as one of my primary visual communication tools. They have rolled out some new features and updates that I like, such as improved scrolling captures.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I'd appreciate some better image manipulation tools such as color swapping or the ability to "clone" a nearby area to hide a cutout hole.

**Recommendations to others considering Snagit:**

It's not a professional design tool, so don't have the expectation that you're going to make graphics for professional use. It does a lot for a little workhorse tool, though, far beyond what most screen capture tools can do. It's the most used software on my system besides browser and comms software.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily I'm solving two challenges: communication and creative ideation. If I want to see how something would look, I can do it myself and I don't have to sit there with a graphic designer and work through my ideas - I can just do a quick mockup in a few minutes. And it's truly changed how I communicate technical issues with our teams, from simple typos to complex captures of flow experience.

 ### 16. Snagit Makes Screenshot Capture and Annotations Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohd T. | Technical Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how easy it is to capture screenshots and record screen videos. The editing tools are simple to use and make it quick to add annotations, highlights, and text. It saves time when creating tutorials, documentation, or sharing information with colleagues and customers.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One thing I dislike about Snagit is that i can sometimes feel a bit expensive compared to other screenshots tools. The software may also use more system resources when working large images or recordings . Other that, it is generally reliable and easy to use.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps us quickly captures screenshots, records, screen videos, and create visual guides for training, support and documentation. it makes it easier to explain processes and share information clearly. This saves time, improves communication, and helps team members and customers understand instructions more effectively.

 ### 17. Convenient Screenshot Editing for Documentation with a Friendly UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle.Bravo@allmar.com B. | ServiceDesk Analyst / IT Infra, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

You can do multiple screenshots but at the same time there are lots of tools such as highlighting and shaping it before trying to send or attach it to email or just chat. Snagit is a convenient tool where you can literally screenshot and edit at the same time. Pretty convenient especially when creating documentations. User interface is friendly as well. Price is pretty affordable and support is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit requires to be updated most of the time. When you use a lower version of Snagit especially when running latest Windows, you can notice the sluggish feel when using it, nonetheless its still the best capturing tool out there.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating IT Documentation is a hassle when just using a regular snapping tool. Snagit is a all in one tool where you can edit capture right away and highlight the steps. Pretty convenient and cool if you ask me. I always use Snagit all the time even when I'm not doing documentation. It also has a specific folder where it saves everything in case you want to check what you screenshot previously.

 ### 18. Robust Screen Capture and Quick Annotation for Efficient Visual Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ingrid C. | Implementation Manager, Health, Wellness and Fitness, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a robust screen capture and lightweight editing tool designed for efficient visual communication. It supports static screenshots, scrolling capture, and short video recordings with minimal performance overhead. Capture profiles and hotkeys allow for fast, repeatable workflows.

The editor includes essential annotation tools such as callouts, arrows, step labels, blur/obfuscation, and templates, enabling rapid creation of technical documentation and support artifacts. Asset management and export options support multiple formats, making it easy to integrate outputs into tickets, documentation, and knowledge bases.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

While Snagit is powerful for basic capture and annotation, it has some limitations. Performance can slow when working with large or multiple captures, and video editing capabilities are fairly basic compared to dedicated video tools. The asset library can become cluttered over time, especially for users who capture content frequently, making organization more manual than desirable. Additionally, the licensing cost may feel high for users who only need occasional or simple capture functionality.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit benefits me by enabling faster and clearer communication through visual documentation. Being able to quickly capture screens, annotate steps, and highlight issues reduces back‑and‑forth explanations and saves time when creating support tickets, training materials, or process documentation. This improves accuracy, minimizes misunderstandings, and increases overall productivity, even when used alongside other specialized tools.

 ### 19. Snagit: Simple, Supercharged, and Essential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric S. | Senior UI / UX Designer Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I really like Snagit because of its simplicity and ease of use. It's available at a keystroke, which makes it super handy. I love that I can paste things to my clipboard and automatically put them wherever I want into documents. I can quickly go through workflows and collect screenshots to immediately turn into valuable content for anything I'm writing. If I need to do edits, it's easily done without having to hassle with bigger, more expensive tools like Adobe products. Setting it up was simple and very easy. It's a more powerful tool compared to the built-in Mac screenshot tool.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There are some editing features that could be a little tighter overall. I think they understand what I need. But some of the stamps and adding icons to make it a more efficient editor is possibly a good upgrade.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for quick editing and adding comments, arrows, and steps to screenshots. It helps me visualize concepts effectively and create videos for development. It's simple and integrates easily with my workflow, eliminating the need for heavier tools.

 ### 20. Flexible Scrollable Screenshots and Editing with an Easy-to-Access Library

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

The ease of capturing scrollable screenshots as well as editing graphics. I appreciate that all screenshots are captured into a library that I can easily access. While I would prefer the ability to pin my most frequently used actions, I appreciate that the UI/UX provides so much flexibility in how I can apply call-out text, redact, etc.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes the ability to find my most frequently used actions is inefficient when I'm in a hurry. While I use it every day to capture screenshots. I don't use it every day to perform editing and sometimes have trouble locating my favorite commands.

Additionally I used to be able to upgrade the version that I had. Now I have to subscribe to get updates and that is disappointing. I'd rather have my perpetual license and be able to pay for a maintenance program that allows me to update as updates become available.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm currently using it primarily for screenshotting. I use Canva and Adobe Illustrator for editing graphics, as well as Adobe Photoshop. There may be things I'm leaving on the table with Snagit that would allow me to reduce the number of editing tools I have to go to. In the past, help files were not all that helpful. That may have changed and is something I may look into if I have time in the future.

 ### 21. Essential Tool for Efficient Business Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like that all my screenshots and recordings in Snagit are saved and organized, allowing me to go back and edit shots I took months or years ago. It's really helpful when I'm asked similar questions because I don't have to recreate an image or video; I can simply find it and resend the original. Plus, I appreciate being able to edit the images for clarity by adding arrows, shapes, blurs, etc. Snagit solves the problem of long, confusing explanations since a screenshot is worth a thousand words.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One thing that has always been an issue is the ability to scroll and capture the entire window. It nearly never works. I realize this is a huge technical challenge, and so I get around it by taking multiple shots and stitching them together myself. Snagit is usually easy to setup, although sometimes the print-screen button can be difficult to map to Snagit on Windows.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to simplify IT and business communications with screenshots and recordings. It saves me from long, confusing explanations and lets me easily edit and reuse visuals for consistent clarity in responses.

 ### 24. Right amount of POWERFUL software that is easy to use and always meets our needs!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce V. | Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It has all the typical tools, and has some that are not typical. For instance the cut out tool allows you to make very fast adjustments that fit most use case requirements. Everything is simple and easy to follow while providing high quality output in all formats you will require. For me and our team, the ROI is excellent and the performance of the software always excels.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

For my work and our team's requirements, there is nothing that we dislike. We would appreciate seeing some more templates and "Stamps" added throughout the year after a new software release - not because we NEED them but because we like the offerings!

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast, easy and great quality edits to screen captures that allows us to finish up quickly. In most cases one or two tools does everything we want. If we need to go further, Snagit offers the tools for those times as well.

 ### 25. Everyday Essential for Effortless Screenshots

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jing Y. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I use Snagit every day for various tasks and projects, which makes it very useful to me. I appreciate the shortcut feature because it's so easy to create a screenshot with it. I also like the screen window function and find the scrolling window function generally very helpful, despite a bit of confusion about when to stop scrolling. I even posted a video on social media in China to promote Snagit because I really like it. Also, the initial setup of Snagit was very easy for me.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It's about the saving function. For example, when I create a screenshot in Snagit, I manually save it into a folder to use that screenshot as a document. Then in the edit, I know I already manually saved it, so I delete it in my editor. Sometimes I realize that when I delete the screenshot in my editor, it is also deleted from the folder, which is very confusing. I feel like the editor is a window for me to edit my screenshot, and once I'm done, I do not need to see it; I want to close the screenshot. I don't show it in my edit. Or maybe there could be some function to separate the ones I want to edit and the ones I want to close. The closing and deleting functions are a little bit confusing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to create screenshots for work and personal records. It's very useful for capturing results I need to check later.

 ### 26. Easy Documentation Workflows That Save Time at a Great Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** valerie k. | Project and Systems Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love how easy it is to use. I can create easy workflows for writing documentation. The price is very reasonable for how much time it saves me. I haven't had any issues with performance or downtime.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I struggle finding a downside. I usually pin the app to my system tray and when an update goes out I usually have to repin; however, I'm always given the option of downloading the update immediately or waiting until it is convenient for me....which I really appreciate.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It just makes my instructions, emails, documentation, workflow implementations so much easier to understand for folks who aren't familiar with my terminology. A picture truly does paint 1000 words.

 ### 27. Excellent Tool for Customer Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love the Library feature because I never lose screenshots I've captured. Copying and pasting is quick and seamless, and I really like being able to capture a still image while recording a video. It makes documenting issues much faster.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

My biggest frustration is having to use two separate applications: Snagit Capture and Snagit Editor. It would be much more efficient if everything were combined into a single app so I could capture, edit, and save without switching back and forth. Combining the two would make the workflow feel much more seamless and intuitive.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit every day in customer service for emails and live chats. Before using it, I had to describe steps in text, which could be confusing and time-consuming for customers. Now I can quickly capture screenshots, annotate them, or record a short video to show exactly what they need to do. This has made my responses clearer, reduced back-and-forth questions, and helped resolve issues much faster.

It solves many problems for me like communication, technical issues, and marketing. I really appreciate its ease of use and features. It works especially well for showing people how to do things and pointing out what AI got wrong. The initial setup was easy. I think Snagit is awesome, which is why I switched to it from Snippet. I recommend Snagit at least twice a week.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I miss the single click screen capture feature on a Mac. I used to be able to click a prtscreen button on my old setup, and now, on a Mac, I don't have that key.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit for communication, handling technical issues, and marketing. It's great for showing people how to do things and pointing out AI errors. It's easy to use and has many features.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Snagit still has the tendency to crash sometimes. When it does, it requires a full reboot to resolve.

Keeping a record of all screenshots. Multiple ways to take screenshots and videos are especially helpful for documentation. An arrow here, a box there, a comment box above. It helps add a story to your screenshots.

 ### 30. Streamlined Sharing and Annotation with Snagit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carlos r. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love using Snagit for my daily product management work. It really simplifies the workflow for taking screenshots, copying them, and sharing them across platforms like Teams and Outlook. I enjoy the simple functions of applying callouts, cropping, and using keyboard shortcuts. These features are super helpful when I'm assisting users by adding arrows, call outs, and numbering steps across a screen. The initial setup of Snagit was easy for me, and I find a lot of value in how it makes my work more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I get confused between the library and finder when I right-click. Even though I'm a power user of both Snagit and Mac, the layout of the menus often requires a bit of mental load to pick the right one. It's just the right-click selection menu that's confusing.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to streamline my workflow from screenshot to sharing with ease across platforms like Teams and Outlook. I also appreciate the simplicity of adding callouts, cropping, and using shortcuts to assist users effectively.

I have not found any aspect of Snagit that I do not like.

 ### 32. Simple, Reliable Annotation and Screen Recording Tool for Life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nithya S. | QA Copilot, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Simple to use and comes with all the necessary tools for annotation. I bought it once and using it for my lifetime. Recording my screen and taking screenshots are both very easy, and they’ve always been reliable for me. It’s also very good at identifying apps like my browser or any other window, and it automatically selects the right area.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, there isn’t much else to add. One thing I do want to point out is that if you buy a license, it applies only to that specific version. You can’t update to the latest version without purchasing a new license. That said, I’m perfectly fine with the version I bought, so I’ve never felt the need to upgrade.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a QA Engineer, I often need to capture screenshots or record video. Snagit helps me take screenshots, annotate them, and clearly point out what the bug is about. The video feature also includes an option to record both system video and microphone audio. After capturing a screenshot or video, I attach it to my bug report to provide more detail about the issue.

 ### 33. Simple One-Click Snips and Video Recording with Easy Notes and Editing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay W. | Bulk Gas Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s simple to use—I love the ability to take a snippet of something or record a video. Both are as simple as pushing a button. It’s also very easy to add notes and point out certain things, and the editing is super easy. The drag and drop programming is super easy to work with

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

It’s not that I dislike this feature, but I think it could be improved by making it easier to delete old snippets. For example, having a quicker way to remove them by date or month would help, instead of only being able to delete everything at once or one by one.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, I always used the Snipping Tool, and it wasn’t always the most user-friendly when it came to editing. I also couldn’t easily switch between recording a video and taking snags with the push of a button. Now I can easily go back to older snags unless I delete them.

 ### 34. My Go-To Tool for Screenshots, Annotations, and Quick Recordings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jerrid C. | CEO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly I can capture, edit, and share visual information without breaking my workflow. I use it daily in my consulting work for screenshots, annotated images, documentation, training materials, client communication, and quick screen recordings. The biggest value for me is that it lets me go from idea or issue to a polished visual explanation in just a few minutes.

The UI is one of its strongest points. It’s intuitive enough that I rarely have to think about where tools are or how to accomplish something, which matters a lot when I’m moving quickly between client work and internal deliverables. At the same time, the editing tools are much more capable than what you get with built-in screenshot utilities. I can add callouts, annotations, highlights, and other visual cues fast, without needing a more complex design tool.

I also like that it supports screen recording in addition to static screenshots, which makes it more versatile for walkthroughs and training content. The integration with Camtasia is another plus, since it makes it easier to move from quick captures into more polished video content when needed.

One of the biggest workflow improvements for me is simply speed and clarity. Compared with using basic screenshot tools or something limited like Paint, Snagit helps me create clearer explanations faster, which reduces back-and-forth and makes it easier to communicate issues, instructions, or ideas to clients.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

What I dislike most about Snagit is the pricing, especially now that it is subscription-based. As a solo consultant, I pay close attention to software costs, and while I use Snagit enough to justify it, the price feels a little high compared with how focused the product is. For someone who only needs occasional screenshots or very basic annotation, it may be harder to justify versus built-in tools or lower-cost alternatives.

I have also run into performance issues from time to time. Most of the time, it works well, but there are moments when it feels slower than it should, which can be frustrating when I am using it frequently throughout the day. Because one of Snagit’s biggest strengths is speed, any slowdown stands out more.

That said, these drawbacks have not outweighed the value for me. I continue to use it daily because the workflow is strong and the editing tools are much better than simpler screenshot utilities, but pricing and occasional performance hiccups are the main tradeoffs in my experience.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me solve a communication problem more than anything else. In my consulting work, I often need to explain product ideas, document workflows, point out issues, or give feedback to clients quickly and clearly. Text alone is often not enough, and basic screenshot tools do not provide the editing and annotation capabilities I need. Snagit makes it easy to capture exactly what I want, mark it up, and share it in a way that is immediately understandable.

The biggest benefit is speed. It has helped me create documentation faster, produce quick training materials more efficiently, and communicate issues or recommendations to clients with much less back-and-forth. I also use it for screen recordings, which makes it easier to walk someone through a process instead of writing a long explanation.

From a workflow perspective, Snagit improves both clarity and responsiveness. I can turn a question, bug, or idea into a visual explanation in just a few minutes, which helps me move client work forward faster and makes my communication more effective overall.

 ### 35. Easy Screenshot Annotations for Clear, Detailed Explanations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie D. | PK-12 Curriculum and Testing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I really like how easy it is to add steps, arrows, and other annotations, as well as highlight or mark specific areas with boxes. I do a lot of explaining in print, so being able to save screenshots has been extremely helpful—especially with these extra features that aren’t available in a regular snipping program.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

The only issue I have had is related to our school district security, which requires an admin for updates of Snagit. I don't have any concerns about the product itself.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I create Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions for various needs within our school district. The ability to annotate in a clear way using Snagit has been invaluable.

 ### 36. Snagit Makes Process Documentation and Screenshots Effortless!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany S. | Senior Technical Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is a WONDERFUL product. It's easy to use and has a great variety of tools and options. I spend a good amount of time documenting process and taking screenshots in my role. Snagit makes this super easy.

The system respond quickly. I've never had issues with lag or response time. It's easy to find help and tips when I want to learn something new, and tips for easier usage are available all the time! The pricing is great and absolutely worth the product.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Sometimes I have trouble finding the options I'm looking to toggle on or off without using the Help feature. But the Help feature is detailed and thorough. So my complaint is not that I can't find something or make changes to my preferences, but more that it can take some digging to find what I'm looking for.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documenting step-by-step processes! I often provide both internal and external clients with documentation. I couldn't do it without Snagit. I've tried other products that just don't offer the variety Snagit does. Snagit is a HUGE time saver and gets the screenshots and instructions I need done quickly and looking fantastic!

 ### 37. Snagit Makes Capturing, Annotating, and Sharing Visual Guides Fast and Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reneisha H. | Clinical Program Manager, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

What I like best about Snagit is how quickly it lets me capture, edit, and share information without breaking my workflow. I use it to take screenshots, annotate key details, and create quick visual guides, which is especially helpful when communicating processes or troubleshooting issues. The editing tools are intuitive, and I like being able to add arrows, text, and highlights to make things clear for others. It saves me time compared to typing out long explanations and helps keep communication more efficient and organized.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

One downside is that Snagit can feel a bit heavy when running alongside multiple applications, and there are moments where it takes a second to respond, which can interrupt workflow. The interface is generally user-friendly, but some tools require a few extra clicks to access, so streamlining navigation would improve efficiency. While it integrates well with other tools and is easy to get started with, enhancing performance and simplifying certain features would make the overall experience smoother. From a value standpoint, it’s useful for saving time, but improving speed and responsiveness would make it even more worthwhile.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps solve the challenge of clearly communicating processes and troubleshooting issues without relying on long written explanations. Instead, I can quickly capture screenshots, annotate key details, and share visual instructions, which improves clarity and reduces back-and-forth. The interface is easy to use, so there’s little learning curve, and it integrates smoothly with the tools I use daily. Performance is generally reliable, allowing me to work efficiently without major delays. Features like text capture and smart (AI) editing tools also help streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. From a value standpoint, it saves time throughout the day and improves overall productivity, making it a worthwhile investment. Overall, it’s a practical tool that supports efficient communication and onboarding.

 ### 38. A Game Changer for SOPs and Construction Communication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit has been a game changer for how I document and communicate, especially in the construction industry. It’s made creating SOPs incredibly efficient. Being able to quickly capture screenshots, mark them up, and clearly show each step has taken a lot of the guesswork out of training and documentation. Instead of long written explanations, I can provide visuals that actually make sense in the field.
It’s also been really helpful for emails. I can quickly grab a screenshot, highlight exactly what I’m referring to, and send clear, direct communication to team members, subcontractors, or clients. It cuts down on back-and-forth and helps avoid misunderstandings.
Overall, Snagit has improved both the clarity and speed of communication across projects, and it’s become a tool I rely on daily.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Honestly, I haven’t found anything I don’t like about Snagit so far. It’s been incredibly helpful for creating SOPs and improving communication, and everything I’ve needed it for has worked smoothly. At this point, I don’t have any complaints.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit is solving a big communication gap for me, especially in the construction industry where things are fast-moving and often unclear when explained only in text.

Before, creating SOPs or explaining processes took a lot of time and still left room for confusion. Now I can capture exactly what I’m seeing, mark it up, and walk someone through a process visually. That’s made SOPs much clearer, easier to follow, and faster to create.

It’s also solving the issue of miscommunication in emails. Instead of going back and forth trying to explain something, I can send a screenshot with highlights or notes. People understand right away, which saves time and reduces mistakes.

Overall, it’s benefiting me by improving clarity, speeding up communication, reducing errors, and making documentation much more effective and scalable across projects and teams.

 ### 39. Snagit Makes Screen Recording and Screenshot Editing Fast and Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charan Raj Y. | QA Automation Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit is one of the best tools for screen recording. I can record meetings and important work, capture screenshots quickly, and then edit those screenshots right away. It’s also easy to share recordings with anyone via email or save them as files. I like that I can preview what I recorded, and everything I create in Snagit stays visible in the Library section.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There’s nothing I would say I dislike, but one area for improvement is when I’m using two screens and recording on one of them. If the screen being recorded is switched off or gets disconnected for some reason, then all the recordings get cancelled. Instead, whatever has already been recorded up to that point should still be saved, so the work done isn’t lost.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Experian the Snagit mainly helps me solve a lot of my meeting problems. I often speak with multiple clients across different regions of the world, like the US, UK, Brazile, Monaco, Columbia, etc. During meetings, some clients’ slang can be difficult for me to understand, so I record the conversation and listen again afterward to get more clarity on what was discussed. Also, if someone asks me to share an issue quickly, I use the screenshot option.

 ### 40. Easy-to-Use Screenshot Tool with Smooth Scrolling Capture and Great Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan A. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is easy to use, has many tools to create and edit screenshots and integrates with the other Camtasia tools. I like how you can start a capture and then scroll on the screen and it captures everything that was scrolled. It is updated regularly to add new features. It performs well. I've never had any slowness or pauses. The pricing is good. I haven't needed support often but when I did, they were quick to respond and very helpful. The tutorials and training are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

There isn't anything I don't like about SnagIt. I use it multiple times almost everyday.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I mainly use it for quick screenshots. Those can be so I can remember details of some specific screen or to create training materials for clients. Being able to edit the screenshot directly within SnagIt is very helpful.

 ### 41. Handy PrtScn Integration and Smart Auto-Size Suggestions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love that it links to my PrtScn button, that is handy. The auto-size suggestion on the window is great, so is the ability to choose a different size.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish that there was a simple way to have it take a screenshot and save it directly to my Screenshots folder without having to go through the Editor first, and manually select save as and then go through an explorer box to find the right folder.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the scrolling screenshot to capture conversations on various projects, especially in WhatsApp. WhatsApp is very difficult to export a conversation with a usable view of what happened instead of a simplified text editor view with no links and images and poor understanding, but with Snagit's scrolling screen shot, it is easy and quick.

 ### 42. Simple, Reliable Screen Capture at a Great Price

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy R. S. | Sr. Graphic Designer & Brand Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It’s simple to use and works perfectly for the on-screen video and audio captures I need. It's also a very well-priced piece of software when everything is too expensive for a small budget marketing team.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I don't have any negatives to report. I've been using Snagit and Camtasia for nearly 20 decades, and I continue to choose them over competitors.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extracting high quality audio from video and streaming content is a big win for me personally. Professionally, Snagit is a one stop shop for capturing, quick edits, and exporting into usable file formats.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andre E. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I rely on tools that are both powerful and dependable, and Snagit consistently exceeds expectations. I use Snagit daily for screen and video captures, data extractions, and creating clear, professional illustrations for documentation. It plays an essential role in my work on operations manuals, standards operating procedures, and technical guides, allowing me to communicate complex information with precision and clarity. Its ease of use, consistent and well-organized user interface, combined with robust functionality, make it an indispensable part of my toolkit. The initial setup was easy and straightforward, and I installed it everywhere I work. I also appreciate how it integrates with other tools like Camtasia. The fact that it's a standard tool for my contracts within and outside the Canadian Government speaks to its reliability.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I wish that Snagit would allow me to time my recording independently. In other words, I can set when to start and when to stop. I have been asking this for many years.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit daily for screen and video captures, data extractions, and creating clear illustrations for documentation. It’s essential for operations manuals and technical guides, communicating information with clarity. Its ease of use and organized interface make it indispensable.

 ### 44. Enhances Teaching Content, But Needs Better Scroll Functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cam L. | Advertising Manager

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I like using Snagit because it offers a choice of arrows, connecting lines, and call-outs, which really helps make my PowerPoint demonstrations more effective. I also appreciate that I can easily alter the size, position, and color of these elements to complement my presentations. Snagit's ability to identify areas on a screen and call attention to specific features is beneficial for creating content for my college course.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I've tried to use the scroll feature but I can't get it to work. The differences between the Mac and Windows versions can be frustrating.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit helps me identify areas on a screen, calling attention to specific features. I like the choice of arrows, connecting lines, and call-outs to make my PowerPoint demonstrations more effective, and I can easily alter their size, position, and color.

 ### 45. Easy, Smooth, and Feature-Rich—Snagit Is Worth It

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

It is very easy to use because of shortcuts. Also, it is very smooth, it does not drain much storage or resources. I also like that its shortcuts do not interfere with the virtual machines I am using in Parallels Desktop. My company pays for it so pricing is not a big deal, but

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

I like Snagit so much and the only thing that bothers me is sometimes when the app is restarted it fails to check for license and I have to restart the app again.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like how easy it is to take screenshots, add arrows, marks on it to describe the content in my reports. I also like that the screenshots are stored in the local storage of the Snagit so I can revert them and use whenever needed.

 ### 46. Fast, Affordable Screenshot Tool with a Great UI and Powerful Markup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica G. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I love the UI, the pricing, the performance. I love the ability to mark up/highlight and point out the necessary items on each screenshot. I love the ability to save them as JPGs or other images. I love the ability to capture scrolling windows.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Unsure, can't think of anything. A Jira/Atlassian integration would be helpful.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I am trying to show a dev what's wrong with our product, the ability to create screenshots with highlights, arrows, and texts helps call attention to what he needs to look at.

 ### 47. Snagit: Seamless Capturing and Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larch M. | Support Services Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

I really like how Snagit uses the crosshairs to mark the areas that I want to capture, and I appreciate the image markup options that allow me to change, edit, and highlight certain areas of my picture to better elaborate on what I've captured. The history feature is great as it lets me see all the pictures I've taken, which is helpful when I need to go back and reference an image. It was also very easy to install, set up, and implement.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Nothing

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Snagit to capture pictures and documentation for manuals. It keeps a tally of pictures taken over months, making it easy to refer back to old images. The crosshair and image markup features help highlight and edit areas for detailed explanations.

 ### 49. Snagit Makes Screen Capture and Visual Communication Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prashant D. | Principal Cybersecurity Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Snagit?**

Snagit makes screen capture and visual communication incredibly simple and intuitive, with a minimal learning curve that helps anyone start creating right away. Setup only takes minutes, and customer support is strengthened by extensive tutorials along with responsive, helpful assistance when you need it. For many people, it quickly becomes a daily essential—used constantly for IT support, creating tutorials, and collaborating with a team. The feature set is impressively deep, including scrolling captures, video recording, OCR text extraction, AI-powered editing tools like Simplify and Smart Move, and a built-in library that keeps everything organized. It also integrates smoothly with Slack, Teams, Google Drive, and other productivity tools, so sharing what you’ve captured is always just a click away.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

Although I like almost everything about Snagit, I sometimes feel awkward when hotkeys fail, and the editor can freeze with larger files, which occasionally disrupts my workflow. Even though it’s feature-rich, some of the more powerful tools—like OCR and Simplify feel buried in the interface rather than being intuitive to find and use.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Snagit has transformed how we support clients and document solutions. Tickets get resolved faster because users can show us issues visually, and we can respond with clear, annotated examples. We also create professional guides and training videos in minutes, which helps cut down on repeat questions. Our internal documentation stays consistent, easy to search, and simple to reuse across the team. Clients trust us more when we can provide visual proof that the work was completed as promised. Overall, it’s an efficiency tool we rely on every day.

 ### 50. Instant Graphics and Video Make Screenshots More Meaningful

I like the ability to add graphics and video to my screen shots in an instant. This allows me to send more meaningful information to those who need it.

**What do you dislike about Snagit?**

So far, so good. I used to use the snipping tool that was built in and now I am very happy to pay for something that does so much more.

**What problems is Snagit solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not only can I make graphics identifying specifics much clearer, but we have also made different training videos with SnagIt. This makes business so much easier.
