The most helpful thing about Skype is that it is free and works on all devices commonly used whether it be windows or mac , and even in android and ios.

It can screen share for presentations and can give acess to international calls and also it gives an end to end security encryption Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It requires very high data usage and is not ideal for the ones who dont have wifi connection and for the ones who have limited data plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

Skype sometimes looks outdated as compared to other platforms. The interface can be cluttered and occasional call drops and lagging disrupts conversations. The mobile app is quite heavy and has significant battery usage which affects its usability on the go. It must have the option to integrate other third party options as well which makes its more powerful.Laslty its integration with microsoft copilot is not looking proper they must work on it to utilize AI capabilities over the app as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Skype?

Video calling like in person meeting possible from many years. I started using it in 2002 and till today it is my choice over many other though technology is more advanced Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

Nothing, it is so GREAT that I can not think of using any other...now or in future also!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Skype solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is like in person meeting. You can meet any one anywhere in the globe in some clicks. I am using this from 2002 when Video Conferencing in India was not known also. Skype has benefitted me a lot in my professional career like interviews from any part of the globe. This created a sort of reliability since any person you not know can be viewed, judged from Skype. No hidden commitments and no faking! Everything is crystal clear at your face front! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Skype?

Yes, Skype is Easy to Use. If I want to integrate anything that will just make it slow. If I want to get credits it's a lot but 1800 numbers for my bank in Canada make it easy to call. That would be my only reason to use this but I now might have to use it for a teaching job. I frequently use this app for calls to Canada. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

Trying to do a call or add someone on Skype is hard because it's always updating constantly and I need customer service all the time. They do have many features but it keeps changing and Updating daily. So I keep losing my favorites and I use this all the time. There is always something wrong with a video call and the sound or call gets disconnected. I want something that refers to how straightforward it is to put a plan, system, or solution into action and I will give it points for ease of implementation. Whenever I want to integrate something it just makes the call worse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Skype solving and how is that benefiting you?

It benefits me for calls to my students and my bank in Canada but I always seem to have an issue with the sound or quality of the video. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Skype?

I have been using Skype for the last 5 years, it is a very good app for making chat or video calls, and it is also easy to use, all the colleagues in my list are using Skype so that we can talk easily. It helps me to connect with my friends and family online, I also have some foreign friends and I have been able to meet with them easily through Skype, It is easy to share the screen and I have been able to use it on my laptop or even my mobile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

What I don’t like about Skype is that the call quality can be bad if the internet is slow. But other than that, it works fine for most things. It's easy to use and has helpful customer service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Skype?

The platform offers excellent video calling capabilities that have served me well for both personal and professional communication. The animated emojis add a delightful touch to conversations, bringing personality and warmth to digital interactions. I particularly appreciate the clear video quality when connecting with family, friends, and clients worldwide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

The platform has become increasingly cluttered with intrusive advertising and unwanted interactions. The biggest pain points are unsolicited crypto-related group additions and spam calls from unknown users. The lack of proper privacy controls to prevent unauthorized group additions is particularly frustrating for a professional user. These issues have ultimately led me to migrate to more secure and streamlined platforms like Telegram. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Skype solving and how is that benefiting you?

Skype primarily solved my need for global video communication, allowing me to maintain both personal and professional connections across distances. It enabled me to conduct video calls with family members and international clients, which was particularly valuable for my digital affiliate marketing business.

The platform's video conferencing capabilities helped bridge geographical gaps, making it possible to have face-to-face interactions regardless of location. However, while it initially served these communication needs well, the increasing security and spam issues have diminished its effectiveness as a professional communication tool. Additionally, Skype's integration with other Microsoft products has streamlined my workflow, allowing me to easily switch between different communication tools. This has further enhanced my productivity and overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

While Skype has been a valuable tool for remote work, there have been occasional instances where the quality of audio and video calls can be impacted by network congestion or software issues. Additionally, the interface, while user-friendly, could benefit from further refinement and customization options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Skype?

In my opinion, no software has come close to being better than this for video calling so far. When it comes to video quality and voice quality, there is nothing better than this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Skype?

In my opinion, when the internet is slightly down, Skype tends to go down more, and the video freezes. Even when the internet isn't down, Skype should be maintained, meaning it takes time to get back to normal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Skype solving and how is that benefiting you?

Skype solves our problem by allowing us to make video and audio calls to people who are far away, which makes us feel like they are close to us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
