We connected with Skaled to assist us with the expansion & re-design of our SaaS sales organization. Essentially taking us from a flat structure to a pod/team design (Can/US/Intl). They assisted us in identifying and creating a variety of new roles & detailed responsibilities surrounding each. This will help us to best achieve our growth goals and produce a more predicable sales pipeline. With the help of Skaled we are revamping our onboarding process, compensation structure, sales playbook (across several verticals), and sharpening our selling skills in general. They are also assisting us with change management and the ongoing training & development of our new and existing sales team. Our company has an amazing culture and is labelled one of the best places to work in North America. It is very important to us to deploy these changes with as little disruption as possible and have our existing sales team receive this major redesign as a positive & exciting change.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

The complex skill set of their entire team and how well they each know our company. We provide several software applications to a variety of market verticals. Our sales are very complex and our approach is different from one to the next. Walking in and understanding our company is not simple but they took the time and educated themselves in order to successfully work with our team. Skaled engages their best internal resources to work on different areas of our project depending on the task. There's a ton of years of experience within the entire team as a whole. 
Not a one-man show.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

I have no dislikes at this time. We are in the midst of our project and expect to be working with Skaled for a least 6 months.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As mentioned, we are completely re-designing our sales structure. We are in the midst of this project and have identified many areas where our efficiency can be improved with people, process and new technology. We aren't shocked by this discovery as we approached them recognizing the need for change. I personally appreciate their recommendations on best practice and their experience in working with companies similar to ours. Their collective expertise allows us to move way faster than we could have on our own and I'm sure we are avoiding many mistakes along the way. I always feel that our meetings are productive, always gaining traction and moving the project forward on time & budget. Myself, along with our president feel that the Skaled team is over-delivering on our expectations at this time.

**Describe the project or task Skaled helped with:**

Due to Climb Credit's rapidly growing student loan product volume, we were in immediate need of some sales expertise to assist with properly scaling our sales initiatives. Skaled was the top pick for the sales-consulting firm to work for many reasons--one of them being their focus on leveraging technology-based solutions to scale sales processes. As a FinTech company, an emphasis on using technology in this way is key, and they did a great job at driving this approach. Skaled also sought out technology solutions that already existed internally at Climb that had just not yet crossed team lines. Specifically, we on the Capital Markets team have many tools that have wider cross-functional applications, but have not been tailored to other functions and/or implemented yet. For example, we worked with Skaled to provide an Excel-based cash flow tool to Climb's sales team which has since been a huge success in our sales pipeline for providing more details and transparency surrounding our product cash flows to prospective school partnerships.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Skaled's focus on using technology to drive scalable solutions and working more closely with resources internally so teams aren't reinventing the wheel on tools that might already exist. This improves efficiency and scalability.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

While they were generally great at driving their sales team initiatives, I think some of the progress was slowed down by what seemed to be a lack of financial product expertise, especially with the complex student loan products that we offer at Climb. I think this caused some initial overconfidence and oversimplification of how to drive their results, but once they got up to speed and adjusted accordingly, everything became smoother.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Climb wanted to hire an expert to fix issues with strategic direction regarding sales team organization and team structure, which became a bit discombobulated (as can happen with rapidly growing companies). They did a nice job of communicating and implementing a well-defined vision for the sales team. They also have enhanced the use of cross-functional resources to drive these initiatives.

Skaled came in to help our revenue team streamline, restructure and build a playbook to execute on as we continue to grow.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

I like that Libby was easily able to hone in on what wasn't working, and work to eliminate and replace in a timely fashion. A lot was completed for us, to the huge benefit of the sales team, in a short amount of time!

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

A challenge would be that it's hard for anyone to come in now knowing the mechanics of a specific product, so there's a ramp up period for Libby and Skaled to learn the ropes, but she's handled it with ease!

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solved a lot of workforce issues, ie: Hiring for the team with a workforce that fits in knowledge and culture and we also solved and continue to solve a lot of process issues with respect to our sales cycle and forecasting.

The work done by the Skaled team is nothing short of extraordinary.  From the moment they landed, they did an excellent job of observing/understanding the landscape, analyzing the strengths and areas in need of improvement, and then set upon a plan to create a much greater company than the one that they first observed.  Sometimes it is having another set of eyes, sometimes it is learning from outside experiences, and sometimes it has been through sheer brilliance….these people seem to know how to find the nuggets of gold, and move them to the forefront and move the company forward.  If your company has enjoyed significant success and wants to build on that success, the Skaled team will surely be of disproportionate value.

Help develop a sales playbook as well as onboarding documents and make improvements to Salesforce. This was to support a larger move to drive revenue growth stability and support a more remote sales team.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Skaled help drive the process throughout, but also come in with relevant practical experience having done the work and experienced the challenges. All work was highly personalized and we knew that the lead consultant had taken the time to understand our services, market and challenges, as well as our goals. This was not "off-the-shelf" consulting.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

No major issues. Did feel sometimes that having other Skaled team coming in infrequently didn't really add anything as they weren't close enough to the project or specific challenges of ours.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our ability to onboard employees, provide a repeatable training program to give all new sales members a better chance of success. We are already seeing engagement through our investment in Skaled which represents an investment in our team.

Chuck has real-world experience building sales orgs.  He was easy to work with, personable, and helped us identify the key aspects we needed to focus on.

No downside.  Skaled was the right fit for us.

We've worked with Skaled on a few occasions to assist with projects related to our sales, marketing and revenue organizations. Most recently, we've been working with Franklin Williams and Libby Freeman to reorganize our entire Revenue team, and set the foundation for scalable growth.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

We've worked with a number of consultants for various projects, and  from my perspective the team at skaled has been the best at collaborating with the team to execute on their goals and understanding the business prior to attempting to deliver value. They've thought globally about their decisions and how they will affect various stakeholders, and they request input from team members prior to implementing proposed changes.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

Like all consulting engagements, there will always be a difference between working with a consultant and working with a full-time employee. However for the most part the Skaled team has made themselves fully available, and there have been very limited scheduling conflicts.

**Recommendations to others considering Skaled:**

Give them time and resources to learn your business at the outset, and then listen to their recommendations with an open mind.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cross-funtional collaboration challenges are currently being solved by the Skaled team. I've personally seen benefits of responsibility clarity for my own team and other departments, as well as my team no longer being pulled into projects that don't require our time.

Skaled took us through a LinkedIn Bootcamp to help optimize our performance and effectiveness on the channel, and drive sales leads. Jake and his team have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

They have some really great strategies to improve performance. They are always available and happy to answer any questions. They are not looking to nickel and dime you on hours, and they genuinely want you to be successful.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

I wished there were more structure to the engagement. I thought each week was going to be a new "lesson" but really it was an upfront training and then go execute on your own, and ask questions along the way. I would have liked a weekly call where Jake and his team were examining our performance, and making recommendations based on their insights.

After surveying the challenge ahead, I contacted Jake Dunlap who unleashed the Skaled team to right-size a plan of action to optimize our sales process, implement an aligned Salesforce CRM, establish team structure, and create a role-specific sales playbook.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

I highly recommend Skaled if you are looking for a more personal, focused strategic strike alternative to big consulting firms. Skaled came to feel like an extension of our own team.

In building a scope of work with Skaled, it was very helpful when the scope was revisited to include line item costs. Costs tied to specific deliverables helped me to gain executive support and funding to hire Skaled.

Franklin Williams quickly steeped himself in our technical engineering culture and developed a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges we faced in building a revenue generating machine in a traditionally cost-focused business. Within months, we had the cornerstone of a sales and marketing team that I was able to run with. In addition, Franklin’s ability to produce and communicate clearly minimized the time required to manage the consultant effort. As a result, in my first 9 months on the job, we were able to launch a brand new team and still meet our 2020 sales revenue target. Skaled is an ace up your sleeve for any sales leader.

We have been working with Skaled to get a handle on our Outreach instance, create stronger messaging for the Business Development team.  We previously worked with them to create Sales Dev playbooks and build out a more robust, standardized training program.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

The team is very knowledgeable and a delight to partner with. We've gained so much valuable insight regarding best practices, how to set up our systems, identification of major gaps, and so much more. Above all that, they are all wonderful people to be working with. If you're going to work with a group of people on a major project as we are, you want to feel comfortable, that they are a true partner who have your best interests at heart, and will deliver stellar results. Skaled embodies all of those qualities. Can't say enough good things about our experience!

Our biggest takeaway was our LinkedIn presence. We were severely lacking on that front and we were able to boost our viewers/connections quickly.

The group had a more realistic approach to sales training. Gave real life examples and helped brainstorm new ideas.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

During a time where we aren't able to sell much it's difficult to apply the training. Also, the majority of new people interacting with me on LinkedIn are looking to sell us or asking for a job. Hoping to see better results in the long term.

Really dive in and make sure you are utilizing the group for their creative ideas. They're an experienced group that is willing to help.

Deb was tasked with coaching our sales team during a lapse in management.  We had worked with her ad hoc previously and our exec team was so impressed with what the sales team had to say that they upped her hours during the transition to ease the pain.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Personalized approach, action based items, new techniques that actually work, digging into your realtime issues and accounts, no BS, and listening to what the reps struggle with.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

The first meeting I had to go to and then they converted me into a believer!

Scaled was able to come in and quickly help all our reps across the board with actual issues that were holding their deals back.  We also focused on bigger picture sales issues and techniques and people saw the impact quickly.  I would always hear people saying "I tried that thing Deb should us and it worked first try, I couldn't believe it!".

We hired Skaled to help us re-shape our outbound engagement approach, specifically for Linkedin. Our goal was to drive more an authentic message in the linkedin community and create a process that we can leverage to increase the efficiency of our outbound efforts, and ultimately turn the heavy outbound engagement into inbound engagement over time.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Skaled has been excellent partners in helping us rethink our entire approach to Linkedin. Brainstorming with their team has driven meaningful changes and heavier engagement on the platform. They have a wealth of knowledge of the nuances of Linkedin and flag actions that we can take now, to drive more visibility into our target market and ultimately more engagement from the people that we want to interact with.

It's been really great, I didn't dislike anything about the engagement. Except maybe we could've connected more.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the challenge of an ever-changing target market and way to get people's attention and authentically interact in 2020. The days of calling up your customer on the phone 100 times and getting a sale are over. Today's buyer is more educated and we knew we had to meet our buyer where they are and where they live, which is now more on Linkedin. We felt like our efforts doing things the way we've always done them were returning lower results. We knew we needed to shift something, and this type of change seemed in line with our target audience.

Skaled was tasked with helping our sales team get to the next level. Instead of coming in and sharing stories of over the top irrelevant success stories, they spent a ton of time listening to our sales process and challenges. They then came up with a detailed plan on the tweaks that our sales team needed. They introduced new talk tracks, helped us hold clients more accountable, and got us away from feature/function conversations. Our new approach was an instant home run.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

We know it's their job, but they genuinely care. Jake and Deb are absolute rockstars. They want to see us successful. Their ability to listen, understand, and suggest new ways. Not all businesses are the same. And they took the time to truly understand what our problems were and how we could overcome them.

Nothing. They are professional, attentive, and I truly look forward to them coming into our office.

We were requesting assistance in building out a documented sales process flow as well as on-boarding and training for new sales hires.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Brooke, her approach was perfect for the situation.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

I didn't dislike anything so much as I recognized the difficulty in getting someone who is not in the office and has no previous experience with the company up to speed with each nuance of the business.  Brooke was great about it, but that process was more cumbersome than I imagined.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems.  Benefits were two fold:  1. Time.  I think we could have accomplished a similar result without Brooke, but it would have taken us months and would have pulled us away from other priorities.   We were not resourced to devote the time to that project that it required, enter Brooke and problem solved.    2. Unique perspective.  Her expertise and objective opinion proved useful in pushing us into some best practices we had not previously considered.

The quality of the work and is outstanding, but I have to spotlight the quality of the people.  Every one I worked with was incredibly talented, professional, and personable.  This is important because creating programs of large scale require a large amount of trust and time spent working together.  Skaled always deliverd but the people make it enjoyable.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

In general leveraging consultants has its challenges - specifically for skaled, I would actually challenge the team to... well, challenge more.  They are experts, and dont need to always perform asks as they made if in their expertise they have a differeing opinion.  Dissent based on expertise is always welcome.

Skaled (specifically Taylor) help me with my onboarding at my new company. Typically onboarding can be an overwhelming experience, however with Taylor/Skaled it was super easy and really helped me understand the processes and goals in my new role.

I liked how there were pdf's and step by step explanations for the processes. Additionally, I like having someone I could reach out and always have an answer to my question.

I would like to see a west coast contact at some point so I can reach out and not feel as though it's too late in the day.

My company worked with Deb, a senior leader with Skaled for H1 of 2019. We hired them initially to help with strategy surrounding our sales technology and laying the foundation for growing our sales functions. Deb really helped us think about things in a different way.

Skaled helped us think about our product line in a different way, increasing our ACV more then 50% in a very short amount of time. She also worked in conjunction with leadership to take on leadership roles that we didn't have the manpower to dedicate time to.

Nothing! I would recommend them 1000x over.

I've worked with them at 2 companies in a few capacities and would say their greatest strength is helping launch new sales business units and expanding existing business opportunities and the teams that support them.

Credibility and expertise. They understand staffing models, hiring, planning and sales strategy. They're ongoing coaching and training is invaluable. I also like that they'll field one-off challenges as they come up and are more than a sounding board... they provide feedback based on insights they gather across the industry.

Not much downside other than a minor financial investment to help ensure the success of you GTM strategy. They do a great job turning around sales teams and building new ones equally so sometimes it's just a challenge figuring out how best to utilize their talent pool. This is not necessarily a bad thing!

I have 20+ years of sales experience and consider myself well-rounded but am smart enough to realize that outside expertise is willing to pay for when needed. Skaled brought light to how we can 100% revamp our sales process. We were educated on trends such as live video conferencing during a demo/call. What I enjoyed the most and felt we reaped the most benefit from was the open forum to pose any questions about our process and see how CEO Jake Dunlap would handle them if he were in our shoes.

The only downside of Skaled was that our training was only 3 hours. I could have listened to Jake teach and challenge our process all day.

If you are on the fence about using Skaled, I highly recommend you use them. Jake Dunlap is a genius, well spoken, very knowledgable and someone who has a lot to offer to your organization!

I liked the tips and tricks we learned about cold calling and emailing. Cold calling can be a very nerve wrecking part of your day as an SDR. For me personally, I liked digging into social selling more. I learned a lot of useful tips and tricks. My second favorite part was digging into buyer personas and uncovering how certain titles are different than each other. Being able to tailor your messaging to those personas will be very helpful when reaching out to business leaders.

The only thing I disliked was that sometimes it felt like we were rushing through the material because there was so much of it. 

**Recommendations to others considering Skaled:**

I highly recommend bringing in Skaled to help increase the performance of any sales team. Whether it's a team of seasoned sales individuals (Account Executive or Sales Development Representatives) or a team that is fairly junior. I think there is a lot of value and insight to what they go over and it's all tailored to your business and ideal customer profile.

The problems I'm solving are problems that stem from an outdated outreach approach. The world of a SDR is a lot different than it was 5 years ago and I learned what's currently working in that space. Learning to constantly adapt, try new things and stay organized with sales technology tools is the new way of doing this role. If you're not using social media to help with your outreach, you're not being the best SDR you can be.

Skaled helped train us how to sell to businesses. The sessions were very comprehensive and started from the beginning of the process to the close. They helped with how to brand ourselves as individual sales reps and how to pitch to clients. They also helped us uncover a lot of things that we were doing they hindered our success and how to adjust to increase our chances of talking to someone and closing the deal.

Skaled is helpful because the experience was customized to fit our organization’s needs. Everything was applicable to what we went through and unlike most meetings, I was engaged the entire time.

Skaled helped me streamline the sales process by setting up a better process to connect to the modern buyer. I realized most buyers now-a-days are living on their phones, and text/ mobile friendly emails are the way to go.

I wish we touched a little more on the overall emails do's and dont's. I would like to have a more in depth look at that aspect of the business. I liked that it was an analytical approach and seeing what the numbers actually showed. Not opinions but measurable analytics based on a ton of emails, calls, research, etc. Sales is the numbers game so it was good to see what the percentages showed.

Some of the stuff was a lot of entry level sales tactics but since we were in the same training as entry level sellers it made sense to include it. Doesn't hurt to get a refresher either.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

I liked a different perspective on how different techniques can be utilized for results. Jake and Laura were very energetic and passionate. As two veterans in the industry, it was great hearing and learning from them. 

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

I don't really see any downsides. If anything, maybe a less of a presentation style and more hands on activities could have been useful.

**Recommendations to others considering Skaled:**

Take into consideration both of these established veterans are using and sharing techniques that have been to put to use and have shown results. 

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Skaled has helped me reach companies through different email templates and creativity using social media, specifically LinkedIn. In result, I have been able to create new business to hopefully retain in my year to year group sales efforts.

We are scaling up our SDR program, and brought in Skaled to help make a Sales playbook and get some best practices down for the team.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

They brought a lot of energy and were well-prepared. I have been in a number of corporate trainings, and this one was better than others. They did a good job making it feel personalized for our company and got to know our value props beforehand.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

Long days. Sometimes I felt like the content was a little cookie-cutter. They threw out a lot of ideas, and we picked which ones we would like to implement. It would be impossible to do it all.  

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to develop an SDR playbook and plan for our growing company - it's helped having some expert opinions and deliverables to help us do some of the groundwork.

**What do you like best about Skaled?**

Great boot camp from Amir Reiter followed by amazing support from Krissy Manzano and Jake Dunlap.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

I can’t think of anything as they’ve been very supportive and flexible.

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Main problem around helping the SDR team ramp quickly with the boot camp and them ongoing support as we grow the team without a dedicated SDR manager.

Better time management by blocking out my day for best call times to sending impactful emails that guarantee a response. How mono-tasking trumps multi-tasking. Creative new ways to connect, network and stay relevant in your industry.

Jake and his colleague were fun, friendly, open and engaging. I feel as though they learned from us as well which made the whole exchange and week feel that much more impactful.

**What do you dislike about Skaled?**

Possibly shorter sessions with more break out opportunities. 

**What problems is Skaled solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’ve actually made a priority to implement the things I’ve learned through Jake and Skaled—I’ve been a part of MANY sales trainings and worked with many consultants in the past and Jake + his team was by far the most influential of anyone I’ve worked with in the past 10 years.
