"A customizable tool for data storytelling"
4/5
What do you like best about Sisense?

The options to customize. The abiity to edit Javascript within dashboards and widgets couple with BloX allows for the desired look and feel to be achieved. We're pursuing embededded analytics using Sisense Compose SDK, which puts even further control in the hands of developers to meet our UX requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Permissions can be difficult to navigate. Currently, there's only a single owner of any given Sisense object. Only the owner can publish any changes. Luckily Sisense is working on a feature for multi-owner functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Sisense! We're thrilled to hear that you appreciate the customization options and the flexibility it provides for your data storytelling needs. We understand your concerns about permissions and are actively working on enhancing this feature to better suit your requirements.

"Faster development, easy to learn, looks great and straightforward pricing ."
5/5
What do you like best about Sisense?

I have managed the implementation of every major visualisation tool into several teams. From Business Objects to Tableau and Power BI.

Sisense allows your developers to work faster. It's easy to use, very easy to learn and works incredibly well.

In tests in my current team, we found Sisense loads and operates between 2x and 3x faster that Power BI (P1). Every click, every slicer change is faster, and its really noticable to the end user.

It also looks better, and has no licensing problems for selling this as part of a product for external clients.

I don't need to train colleagues up in "universes", "dax", or spend inordinate amounts of time getting anything out of Tableau

For businesses the best part of Sisense is the pricing.

You buy a package, and you know what it's going to cost.

Try navigating the imposssible pricing structures, usage driven costs you get from many of the alternatives.

Power BI may have a free version, but you can't do much with it, and need to upgrade to an unfathomable pricing plan, which we found works out 3x more expensive than Sisense. Looker is the same, and the other major tools are just as bad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Blox, which gives the developer the ability to manipulate the functionality and look/feel completely is complex, and difficult to implement. It has the same difficulty as DAX: it's far more power ful than DAX, and can change to visuals of a widget/page, but lacks the documentation.

However you rarely need to use it.

It can be hard to find support information, there isn't the online community you find with the largest tools, but this is getting better. Sisense should focus on creating better documentation and guides for specific use-cases.

There could be more connectors, especially live ones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Thank you for your review! As you mentioned, we are working on making our community a more useful tool for customers like yourself. "Excellent way to capture and analyze a lot of data"
4/5
What do you like best about Sisense?

Sisense's dashboards and filters allow for viewing a lot of data quickly, slicing it according to what you most want to see. It's also easy to create a *lot* of dashboards. Flexibility is an obvious benefi. If you've a big appetite for analytics, Sisense is a useful partner for viewing patterns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

What makes Sisense great is also what makes it occasionally frustrating. There are so many options for viewing data, including what feels like an unlimited number of dashboards, it's easy to drown yourself in data. Learning how to use filters well is crucial for getting the most from Sisense, especially if you're working with a large dataset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

I am sorry to hear that you tend to have some moments of frustration, I would encourage you to check out the Academy where we have not only a plethora of on-demand learning but also a wealth of webinars available!

"Power, versatility, and real self-service"
5/5
What do you like best about Sisense?

With Sisense, we have the right tool to handle all the data remnants presented to us:

- Powerful visualizations, adaptable to any environment, offered to our clients through the simplicity of embedding in our applications in the way we and our clients need. This also allows for direct monetization of the data.

- A powerful modeling layer and connection to various data sources align us with our Data Governance policies, eliminating all barriers in a simple and flexible way.

- All Data Scientists have integrated tools to work natively with SQL, Python, and R and generate all the necessary ML and AI algorithms, directly connected to the visualization layer.

- Being full-stack, there is a clear saving on integration and hidden costs.

- Being an open platform, and without the use of proprietary languages, it allows us to automate all processes at all levels through the REST API. Likewise, it allows us to expand visualizations and configure any needs and components using JS and CSS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

Licensing, being within the range of amounts for all tools in the sector, is sometimes opaque and difficult to measure. However, since it is an annual subscription for a single product, we always know what, how much, and why we are paying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jacqueline Cordell of Sisense

Thank you for sharing your point of view. Regarding questions about your contract, we are transparent: please let us know if you need to review the terms of the agreement.

"My Sisense Experience over 3 years"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Sisense?

We can Integrate multiple applications together in a cube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sisense?

A lot of things about dislike of Sisense i.e

- Too slow in fetching data from the database if you are writing customized queries. The same query runs in the database within a second but Sisense takes 10 to 20 minutes or sometimes hours in execution.

- On every change either small or big you need to rebuild the cube which means you have to wait sometimes for 30 minutes and sometimes more than an hour.

- The Sisense internal SQL query feature is too limited, you can only use basic SQL, nothing advanced.

- Sisense cube mapping only provides INNER JOIN, but sometimes we need LEFT, RIGHT, OR CROSS JOIN to achieve the desired reporting results.

- The Sisense Interface is not user-friendly and the support is terrible, they didn't provide good documentation about advanced features they have like API, embedded code, CSS, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Andrew Loomis of Sisense
