It uses similar technologies to what we're already using. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** Customer Support has been a mixed bag. Often it feels like there isn't common knowledge & understanding throughout the organization of issues, features, release timelines. Often documentation has been lacking specifics that we would find out later on support calls. Now we moved to Databricks for both datawarehouse and BI. The dashboard and charts are great and interactive. The vast number of free and paid plugin add more features and funcionalities and integrations to the tool. I also love that Sisense have the blox widget type, which allows me to implement HTML code on my dashbaords. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** For being a web tool, the performance sometimes can be an issue as well as debugging or finding the root cause for an error. Sometimes it's solved by just refreshing the page, other times I need to contact the support. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's solving the problem of providing analytics to our customers using the data from our internal systems. By leveraging Sisense, my company can create a hub of reports and dashboards that clients can access at anytime and it's interactive. It is the most business ready solution out there in the market and that is after comparing it to Power BI and Tableau. In addition to the basic use of Sisense they have added the AI analysis of data that really allows users to focus on what the data is telling them vs in dealing with the data. With its efforts in making it easy to install and easy to use, Sisense has kept its ability to extend and provide custom interfaces via modules which are simple to create to make a true solution that fits any company. It has been amazing how we have been able to integrate Sisense across a large number of our data sources thus correlating many of our activities and bringing even more value to our day to day work. We are consistently in Sisense, monitoring dashboards and easy to view reports that provide near real-time insight into our operation. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** Earlier versions were difficult to install but they have corrected much of that with their latest 2023 releases. I like that we have easy to apply updates. Some of their best support folks are overseas so there have been some late night sessions with them but they are very dedicated and driven to get to a solution. They have improved their support system and appreciate their turn around times which are much better but still more work on getting information here. Still find a few bad instructions on their docuementation but have seen work done there too. There are so many variables in installing Sisense that you need to make sure you are looking at the right version with the right OS and it is hard to see what things apply to both versions MS vs Linux. The overall interface is intuituve and for anyone with a little experience, they can get to grips with only a small amount of effort when compared with our similar products. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** The biggest draw back would be when updating our version of the software, in some cases the new version broke existing dashboards due to new bugs, or new ways of doing things. From Business Objects to Tableau and Power BI. Sisense allows your developers to work faster. It's easy to use, very easy to learn and works incredibly well. In tests in my current team, we found Sisense loads and operates between 2x and 3x faster that Power BI (P1). Every click, every slicer change is faster, and its really noticable to the end user. It also looks better, and has no licensing problems for selling this as part of a product for external clients. I don't need to train colleagues up in "universes", "dax", or spend inordinate amounts of time getting anything out of Tableau For businesses the best part of Sisense is the pricing. You buy a package, and you know what it's going to cost. Try navigating the imposssible pricing structures, usage driven costs you get from many of the alternatives. Power BI may have a free version, but you can't do much with it, and need to upgrade to an unfathomable pricing plan, which we found works out 3x more expensive than Sisense. Looker is the same, and the other major tools are just as bad. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** Blox, which gives the developer the ability to manipulate the functionality and look/feel completely is complex, and difficult to implement. It has the same difficulty as DAX: it's far more power ful than DAX, and can change to visuals of a widget/page, but lacks the documentation. However you rarely need to use it. It can be hard to find support information, there isn't the online community you find with the largest tools, but this is getting better. Sisense should focus on creating better documentation and guides for specific use-cases. This provides two primary benefits: 1) The ability to validate the source of the data to ensure you're drawing conclusion based on the correct data set; and 2) The ability to easily replicate similar visuals. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** There are some limitations on variability in the charts you create. You cannot create as complex visuals as you can in some other data visualization tools, for example map charts and auto-bucketing for histograms/ **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** My aim is to provide sales leaders with analytical insights to the producitvity of their sales teams. Once you have accessed the data, transofrming this to actionable metrics can be done by any type of user. The number of options for types of metrics is expansive. Support is very responsive and your CSM will help with anything you need, lean on them. The developers of the application listen to their users and are constantly adding new features based on feedback from the user community. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** The folder implementation in the dashboard catalog could work better. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our users want to see at a glance the information that drives them to action. Specifically, direct view of the audit metrics that let them know that they need to address specific items. It also has a wide range of integrations that allow for greater customisation of the product and the implementation to an existing app is easily done. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** The biggest difficulty is its use, I feel that it takes a considerable amount of time to understand how to perform certain operations that in other BI platforms are quite simple such as the creation of certain graphs. They have some basic widgets and normal reporting capabilities. They listen to us and seem to want to improve. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** There are a ton of limitations, they're always breaking things with updates, rarely fixing what we need them to. They seem to have trouble with multi-tenancy for embedded analytics. The interface is unattractive and hard to customize. They are poor at translations. They have a very limited library of visualizations. They really are a minor league player. I inherited them. Starting to get to the point where it'll be worth the trouble to tear them out and start over. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** They serve as the platform for our embedded analytics solutions. The product or support? It provies different options than what can be done in the database. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** We're constantly having to redo our dashboards and data models as each Sisense version upgrade breaks and/or slows down the product. How do you move forward or grow when today you have to fix what was working yesterday? We've had periods where Sisense is down for days, weeks, and months. Every single person that sold us on this product and got us up and running have left Sisense. Their replacements and their replacements have all left. By the time someone has been with Sisense long enough to be useful, they leave. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our initial use case for Sisense was the blending of our data. Everything was silo'd before Sisense and we were able to create a Sisense elasticube that blends all of our FACTS and DIMS. Of course now support will tell you not to do that. The blended model that has always worked is now too much for Sisense. They also allowed for unlimited viewer licenses. The ease of integration with different data sources (and different types of data sources) is superb. Once the cubes were set up and named properly, business users were quite quick to embrace the new BI platform. Customer support is pretty good most of the time. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** Building cubes sometimes seems too slow (taking their size into account as well). Customer support is not the most focused one in some cases. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sisense is helping us surface the important facts from huge data we have so we can steer our decision-making. The tool is easy to use and had relatively little to no learning curve. Sisense also simplified the way to link different tables together on one (or more) key, making it very easy without the need to use SQL. Once charts/tables/etc. are made, it was relatively easy to integrate into our systems. **What do you dislike about Sisense?** There are some limitations in the types of graphs/tables/etc. you can create compared to other data visualization tools. There seems to be more limitations on creating tables than graphs. It would also be nice to have the ability to edit data that appears in the bubbles when hovering over graphs. Adding new queries could be a little more clear; I had to go through a number of trial and errors to be able to add a new query for a table. A tutorial or a message on what I was doing wrong could would have been extremely helpful. **What problems is Sisense solving and how is that benefiting you?** Some of our data aren't accessible to all indivuduals in our organization.
