Simul8 is user-friendly, easy to handle, Easy Access to spreadsheets, Visual Basics Scripts to build the Simulation model, Simulation objects and their properties and attributes. Simul8 provides the Database connections through ODBC. Simul8 can useful for Manufacturing and Assembly lines for both solid and Liquid products. One can control the speed of Simulation from very slow to very fast withought lagging or affecting to the computer speed. Simul8 can analyze the Utilization percentage, Bottlenecks, Throughputs and Cycle time. Scripting is very easy to write and also provided with intellisense. Graphs are available and also easy access to all KPIs. **What do you dislike about SIMUL8?** Simulation Objects are not much attractive. **What problems is SIMUL8 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using Simul8 for Digital manufacturing World. Using the Simulation model I can easily calculate Throughput, Cycle time, Machine and Operator Utilization of the manufacturing and Assembly lines. I am applied simulation model to analyze the bottlenecks in production of Various Automobile parts, Food industries and Chemical Industries. I also enjoyed the time scale feature of the simulation. It was useful to see simulations run both in real time, and very fast. Another useful element of the simul8 program was the very powerful distributions that we could apply to every single element of the simulation. For my assignment I was required to use this ,and it was useful to see how the change in distribution of the input and output of the simulations made such a profound change in the results. **What do you dislike about SIMUL8?** I thought the usage of images was a little difficult and convoluted to apply. I also found the interface and polish of the look of the program to be a little old fashioned. A lot of products with less features are actually better in the sense that it gives you less choice but a more direct path into what you are designing. Although it is simple, you still get the important functions like queues, end points, start points and activities. With it, I was able to model a queueing system and be able to determine how many front desk people are needed to be able to serve around a thousand people a day, with a 4 person limit in the queue ,at a 2min avg service rate with a triangular distribution, etc etc. You're also able to see all the KPIs at the end of the simulation and you can run it so many times to get an accurate number, or see what process is consistently going wrong. This is really powerful software, I thoroughly enjoyed using it. **What do you dislike about SIMUL8?** Not much to dislike, the graphics look a little old for a new software but that's if I am actually looking for something to complain about. I really like the software. One thing I can say though, is that it takes quite a bit of learning to make it useful for your own needs. **Recommendations to others considering SIMUL8:** Please download the software and play around with it, and look up tutorials. It's a great software, but everything needs some learning. I hope you find it as useful as I did! **What problems is SIMUL8 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I mentioned it above, but basically using it to determine how many front desk people need to be hired in order to serve a certain amount of people per day.
