"Simscale for mechanical engineering"
What do you like best about SimScale?

The best thing I like about SimScale is the usability and the support. I am fairly new to finite element analysis and the interface is easy to use. Plus SimScale let's you browse thousands of earlier projects for inspiration. It got me started within a week with virtually no prior knowledge on finite element modeling.

Support is also very good, response time is short and knowledge is very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

There is just one thing: I would like to see buckling calculations and visualisations in a future version. i haven't seen any specific 'buttons' for buckling in the interface but maybe that is just because I am not fully familiar yet with that type of analysis. "Timely solution. Really liked it!"
What do you like best about SimScale?

It is very convenient that you can work on the platform from a regular computer. The platform does not have high requirements for the computer. That is, to perform complex calculations, you do not need to buy an expensive high-performance computer. Thank you to the support team. There were questions. The guys responded promptly and helped to sort things out. Even though we speak different languages. There is a lot of educational material freely available. However, sometimes you start to get lost in this abundance of information. Therefore, it is easy to learn how to work on the platform independently. Even without experience working with CFD solvers. What do you dislike about SimScale?

The price bites. Even for the company, it turned out to be more profitable to get a solver license from AutoDesk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Level up your calculation skills one tutorial at a time"
What do you like best about SimScale?

I had a engineering background and a bit of knowledge in numerical methods and finite element analysis. However, I am no expert so I really appreciate the numerous and detailed tutorials that Simscale offers.

I use Simscale from time to time, but the intuitive interface makes it easy for guiding me step by step. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I find that the free version to be extraordinary restrictive. I believe Simscale should offer restricted free Simulations, but on a monthly basis. That way a stronger free user community could be created, with benefits for everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use for all engineering skill levels."
What do you like best about SimScale?

The ease of use and friendly user initerface. The software is very easy to figure out and we have been able to teach it to many young engineers still in college.

The way the CAD is implemented in. I can upload an assembly and modify that assembly right in the software. Such as if something is misaligned.

The multiple different simulation styles that can be used, such as having both CFD and FEA analysis.

The multitasking capabilities and not needing a super computer. I can run multiple simulations at the same time, and still use my very basic work laptop in the background to continue working on other tasks while the simulations run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

There is really nothing I dislike.

The new addition of starting your CFD simulation in translusent white when it is complete instead of being already set to cutting the model and having it show the velocity right when you look at the solution field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Pretty good Online FEA Software"
What do you like best about SimScale?

It is fully online and your calculations are not core limited due to your hardware performance. Excellent training and support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

It is an early-stage product and requires more options to modify.

Can not change dimensions (meter to mm) in most of the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Static analysis of a mechanical part subjected to wear"
What do you like best about SimScale?

It is very easy to use, it allows you to make a combination between forces, axes to fix, supports, and it allows you to simulate many characteristics that a piece has in real life. Additionally, you can do your simulation online, you don't need to install anything, and when the program finishes its simulation, it will send you a notification, which makes it very useful and valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

I haven't encountered any problems, the interface is very easy to use and you can link your OnShape accounts to upload your drawings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Open documentation about a lot of CFD themes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

Lack of accurate explanations about some points. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great wind simulation software"
What do you like best about SimScale?

There are so many great features in Simscale especially when you are trying to do a detailed wind analysis or see some results more closely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

Sometime the complexity of the model takes long time to load and starts giving errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for large-scale simulations"
What do you like best about SimScale?

The most helpful thing is its capability to run cloud-based simulation. In my experience, as a member of a fairly newborn formula student team, it was the beat option to run accurate CFD analyses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SimScale?

It could have more tutorials and personalized help center. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
