Not user friendly **Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2020 **Describe the project or task Silicon Valley Bank helped with:** We have SVB for our small business. **What do you like best about Silicon Valley Bank?** The SVB name looks good for a Silicon Valley Tech company. **What do you dislike about Silicon Valley Bank?** The website is the worst UI for a bank that I have encountered. I cannot accomplish anything by the website, except to view statements, and even then it's so confusing. If I need ANYTHING (order checks, new card, add a user, change business address, change mailing address, etc) you HAVE to call customer service. And they never get it right. They have changed our business address for us, multiple times. I have been trying to order an additional debit card for very literally MONTHS. And every time I call customer service they send me a new form to fill out and send back. Just for a card. And fees are very high compared to similar banks. This is not good for a startup. Maybe better for large corporation. **Recommendations to others considering Silicon Valley Bank:** Unless you have a personal relationship with one of the bankers and can go to their bank in person when you need something, this isn't worth it. **What problems is Silicon Valley Bank solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, they are not solving any problems for us. Only creating new ones. But I dread the idea of trying to close our accounts, since it was incredible difficult to set it up. ### 2. We love the relationship that we've built with SVB as they've proven to be a great resource to our company. **What do you dislike about Silicon Valley Bank?** There isn't anything that we dislike. We've also used their credit cards which I don't think is as great. The card benefits and rewards system is very outdated as compared to those of other business card systems **What problems is Silicon Valley Bank solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use them for all things banking and finance. The best benefit is that you're able to take care of all of your financial needs with SVB. ### 3. Whenever we have any issues, we have a point of contact we can reach out on to help. We had a vendor that were a victim of a phishing attack which asked that we send an ACH to an updated account information. We were able to each out and have SVB work on reversing the ACH. **What do you dislike about Silicon Valley Bank?** There are lots of features like updating users access/control on the platform, reporting functionality, etc. that can contribute to a steeper learning curve tan other banks. **Recommendations to others considering Silicon Valley Bank:** Shop around for multiple banking options for deals and pricing **What problems is Silicon Valley Bank solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to keep our cash in one place has helped us account for our cash flow. ### 5. I most enjoy the small business debit card service **What do you dislike about Silicon Valley Bank?** I haven’t encountered any problems with Silicon Valley bank. If I had to list a negative it would be that there isn’t a branch in our area. **What problems is Silicon Valley Bank solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to utilize a debit card system among contracted staff, in a way that is safe and secure for the company, staff and partners. ### 6. SVB does this well. **What problems is Silicon Valley Bank solving and how is that benefiting you?** We distribute our corporate credit cards through SVB. This has allowed employees to purchase goods and services for the company without using their personal credit. ### 7. The foreign wires are possible online, but require an extra step or two. The user interface is a bit clunky and outdated.
