Even with all of Sifts advantages, there are not many things that could go against it. What I like best about sift is it's great fraud detection system as well as it's robust features. I especially appreciate how simple it is to incorporate into our existing processes and how adaptable it is, allowing us to change settings to meet our particular needs. I wish there were more advanced reporting features. Sometimes it feels like analytics could be a bit more detailed to help us dig deeper into trends. I am a part of content integrity team ( content abuse) at my company. Sift is an important part of our daily work to identify suspicious user and to stop them from corrupting the marketplace. The best part about sift is that it provides various data to track down down suspicious and fraudster users and provides theease to use it. I have been reviewing accounts in an international money remittance company. My main role is to identify and prevent fraudulent transactions from going through. Sift has been an irreplaceable software that we are using from day one until today in preventing, detecting and mitigating fraudulent transactions and accounts. Sift has multiple features that helps us identify which accounts are linked via the same attributes, such as CARD information, IP addresses, Billing and shipping information fingerprints. Thus, it helps us find those accounts and immediately put strict measures in place by either putting a watch or suspend an account that we identified using sift.

Sift is also a tool for us, to determine which type of risk are customer’s account is. The risk depends on the “Sift Score” which is one of our main prerequisites in decision making whether to approve or decline a certain transaction. Part of it was detrining if the customer is wihtin Low- meduim or High risk, and it would let us determin which process or portocols to follow.

Another function of sift that helps me a lot in my investigation is the accurate details of the device that was used by the customers in account creation, submitting a transaction and any updates relating to their account, because in fraud review, the type of device and connection that the customer uses is also a major factor to determine certain fraud patterns and attacks.

As sift may have been a useful tool in my fraud investigation process, there is information inside the software that I did not understand until now. Firstly is the Sift score, I still have no Idea how sift determines the scoring of each customer, there were also times that in my overall review, the account is already suspicious but the sift score was still categorized as low risk. Additionally, there were times when sift identifies an account to link via a certain attribute but when we on those accounts, we couldn’t find any affiliation between them, except that sift determined them as affiliated or linked.

This is obviously the only program any merchant needs to cover all aspects of possible fraud. The self learning has been more than reliable for many years, and has helped us base major fraud decisions moreso than any other platform. Sift keeps in close contact with us to see if any adjustments need to be made regularly, and really goes above and beyond in researching our companies' needs. The only downside that we've found in Sift is that there are changes in the page's style (typically on the user network screens) that are sometimes unexpected, but for the most part, take only a small portion of a workday to readjust and get back on track Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how we can easily make and edit routes, so we can adjsut based off team's needs.

Being able to see the impact that each route has on the team is helping in deciding when to make adjustments based off company needs.

I struggle with looking at long term impact. Being able to review only 90 days back is difficult at seeing long term trends.

I wish Sift provided more information like device ID and was able to pull more consise data when reviewing information. There is a lot of data, but it's not all useful and not easily extracted.

The user abuse score is not always a great signifyer to understand their risk impact on the buisness. I often have to look at additonal variables that are outside of Sift when deciding to approve/reject a user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
