## Sift Reviews
 ### 1. SIft is a useful app to mark the fraud accouts as phishing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shafeena A. | Compliance Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Since my previous review, Sift has continued to provide accurate and reliable fraud detection capabilities. The platform is easy to use, and its intuitive interface helps our team quickly investigate customer accounts and identify suspicious activities. The implementation process was smooth, and the risk insights help us make faster and more informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

I do not have any significant concerns or dislikes regarding Sift. The platform is reliable, easy to use, and effectively supports our fraud prevention efforts. Any future enhancements in analytics and reporting would be a welcome addition, but overall the product performs very well.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help me see the network of the account and what kind of activities is the customer doing. We use it to mark the account if they are doing any fraud activities.

 ### 2. Sift Turns Raw Fraud Data Into Clear, Actionable Evidence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammed S. | Senior Fraud Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

For fraud, it uses a massive global network to stop bad actors before they even hit your checkout; for forensics, it provides an elite, pre-configured environment that saves hours of setup. In both cases, Sift excels at turning overwhelming amounts of raw data into clear, actionable evidence. It’s essentially the difference between guessing and knowing.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

The area which needs improvement with Sift is how much it asks of you. Whether it’s the fraud platform acting like a "black box" that’s hard to second-guess, or the forensics kit’s steep learning curve, it isn't exactly "plug and play." It’s a resource hog that demands serious processing power and even more patience to master. Basically, it’s incredibly powerful, but it’s definitely not built for a quick or casual user experience.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift tackles travel and expense fraud by using its global data network to spot high-risk patterns, like last-minute "burner" bookings or accounts created solely to exploit travel promos. By analyzing device fingerprints and behavioral signals in real-time, it stops stolen card use and account takeovers before a ticket is even issued. For you, this means a smoother booking experience with fewer "suspicious activity" flags, while businesses avoid the massive revenue loss from unrecoverable "ghost" inventory and chargebacks. It essentially filters out the bad actors so your legitimate travel plans don't get caught in the crossfire.

 ### 3. Sift’s Sleek Explore UI and Strong Analytics That Help Reduce Fraud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amna F. | Analyst Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

The UI in the Explore section for analyzing orders and users is one of the best features. Sift’s ability to condense a huge amount of information into a sleek, easy-to-read template is impressive. Since we’re in retail, it’s especially helpful to have a platform that delivers strong analytical performance. The pricing also feels on point considering how much the solution has helped reduce overall fraudulent transactions.

This is my first time using a platform like this, let alone an AI-based one, but I was able to learn the system fairly quickly and my onboarding to the analytics team was smooth. The AI model works well and continues to adjust based on our daily manual reviews. We’re also working on integrations to automate our weekly reports.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

There’s still room for improvement in language recognition, especially for Arabic, since our main market is the Middle East. I’ve also noticed some bugs recently. For example, sometimes orders don’t show up in the correct date/time order.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped reduce fraud by a great margin, and it also does a good job of picking up on trending fraud signals.

 ### 4. Connects the Dots Fast—A Digital Detective’s Dream

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashish B. | Lead, Fraud Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Honestly, it’s the way it connects the dots without making me hunt for them. I love that I can see a random IP in one case and immediately see it linked to three other accounts across the globe. It makes you feel a bit like a digital detective rather than just a data entry person.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Sometimes it feels like there’s too much noise. When you have a hundred different signals firing at once, it can be a bit of a rabbit hole trying to figure out which one actually matters for the specific case I’m looking at.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift basically solves the 'needle in a haystack' problem. Instead of me having to manually hunt through thousands of transactions, it surfaces the high-risk stuff so I’m not wasting my time on legit users. It benefits me because it cuts out the 'busy work' and lets me focus on the complex cases that actually need a human eye.

 ### 5. Sift Transformed Our Fraud Detection with Accurate Scoring and Risk-Based Authentication

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshu D. | Senior Fraud Operations Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Sift has become a cornerstone of our security stack, particularly in the areas of E-commerce Fraud Protection and Financial Fraud Prevention. Since implementing it, we’ve seen a significant reduction in chargeback rates and a much more streamlined process for identifying account takeover attempts. The Sift Score is incredibly accurate, allowing our team to automate a large portion of our Fraud Detection through custom Workflows, which has drastically cut down on the time we spend on manual reviews. What I appreciate most is the Risk-Based Authentication; it gives us the flexibility to apply friction like MFA only when a transaction is truly suspicious, ensuring our legitimate customers have a frictionless experience. It’s a powerful, scalable tool that provides deep, identity-level insights we couldn't get elsewhere.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

I don't have particularly any data that I dislike about SIFT. Everything looks fine here.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What I appreciate most is the Risk-Based Authentication, it gives us the flexibility to apply friction like MFA only when a transaction is truly suspicious, ensuring our legitimate customers have a frictionless experience. It’s a powerful, scalable tool that provides deep, identity-level insights we couldn't get elsewhere.

 ### 6. Helpful Tool for Managing Abuse and Fraud Efficiently

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Micah Mae R. | Technical Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

What I like best about Sift is how it helps us quickly identify and prevent fraudulent or abusive behavior, making our work more efficient. It gives clear insights that support better decision-making, allowing us to protect users while maintaining a smooth customer experience. It truly strengthens trust and safety overall.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

What I dislike about Sift is that it can sometimes flag legitimate users, which creates extra work for our team and delays for customers. The interface can also feel a bit overwhelming at times, especially when handling multiple cases, making it harder to quickly find the most relevant information needed.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift helps solve problems related to fraud, spam, and abusive behavior by detecting suspicious activities in real time. This benefits me by reducing manual work, allowing faster case reviews, and improving accuracy in decisions. It also helps protect genuine users, making the platform safer and more trustworthy overall for everyone.

 ### 7. Effortless Fraud Prevention with Sift

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florabel A. | Abuse & Mitigation Compliance Associate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

I like the features of Sift, especially how the dashboard looks and how easy it is to figure out things without confusion. It shows how many accounts or logins I have reviewed, which is helpful. I find it easy to check the customer logins and addresses, ensuring they match our records to avoid any fraudulent activity. Also, the setup process was very easy, particularly when it comes to reviewing account logins of customers, making my job easier and faster.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

I'm finding the login issue frustrating. Every time I visit the login page, it expires, and that's not ideal.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sift to gain a deeper understanding of the digital persona behind every transaction, making smarter, faster fraud decisions by checking customer logins to determine fraudulent activity.

 ### 8. My experience using Sift.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonattan P. | Fraud Prevention Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Sift?**

How modular the workflows can be, the combination of factors to determine the score, and thus, achieve a higher level of confidence in identifying fraudulent users, ultimately helping to mitigate the issue of false positives.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

The ability to add specific rules per merchant is crucial. The requirements for the food industry are not the same as those for retail. Creating rules for different industries can be somewhat confusing for new users or those accustomed to different models. Not being able to have workflows per merchant is a limitation.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're discovering patterns across our various merchants while using it and successfully mitigating false positives. The scores it provides based on the model's training assist us in countering chargebacks.

 ### 9. Intuitive, Fast Interface, but with Readability Challenges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vladimir H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

I like the Sift interface because it is easy to navigate and very fast despite storing a lot of information. This is important for us, as we handle alerts from other systems and I have never noticed any delay. It connects all the information very quickly, which is crucial for reviewing where they connect and what they are doing on the platform. I also think it's great that the system can handle multiple instances without delays.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

I believe that the readability of the data is somewhat important, we use it mainly for logins, so there are times when it does detect as if it were a new device, but it's not a new device, rather the SDK disconnects for a while and that's why it registers it as if it were another device which is the same. Maybe something a bit easier to understand in that regard. On our side, I think they could improve their integration with the APIs so that we can connect more things, because without a doubt it could connect with some things. Although there is so much information it receives that I think it's a bit difficult.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sift to evaluate logins. It connects all the information quickly, without delays, which is crucial. It helps us review alerts and device connections. The interface is easy to navigate.

 ### 10. Sift : Helpful tool to mitigate Fraud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kriezl Angeleen Q. | Risk Investigator, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Sift?**

What I like best about Sift is how effectively it empowers me in my role as a Risk Investigator. The platform's machine learning models and real-time decisioning allow me to detect and act on suspicious activity quickly and with confidence. I also appreciate how intuitive and customizable the tools are—it helps streamline my investigations and focus on high-risk cases without getting buried in false positives. Sift’s commitment to innovation and collaboration makes it easier for me to stay ahead of evolving fraud tactics

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

One area I think Sift could improve is in the granularity of data visibility and customization. While the platform is powerful, there are times when I need deeper insights into model reasoning or more tailored workflows to align perfectly with our internal processes. It would also be helpful to have more flexibility in creating investigation rules or alerts directly within the system. That said, Sift is always evolving, and I appreciate that feedback is often taken seriously and acted on.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is where I can detect the scammers and possible Identity theft Sift is solving the complex problem of online fraud and abuse, which is constantly evolving and becoming more sophisticated. By leveraging machine learning and real-time decisioning, Sift helps identify risky behavior early—before it causes financial or reputational damage. For me as a Risk Investigator, this means I can work more efficiently and accurately. Instead of manually sorting through large volumes of transactions or user behaviors, I can focus on high-impact cases, investigate patterns faster, and make informed decisions with confidence. It ultimately helps protect both our users and our business. it provide the details and location of the person in review

 ### 11. Highly Customizable and User-Friendly, But Data Export Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel Alexander R. | RISK ANALYST, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Sift?**

What I like most about Sift is that it does not impose any limitations on its use, providing great freedom to configure and adjust the systems according to our needs. Additionally, it offers a wide variety of parameters and options that allow for creating and customizing numerous detection rules with great precision. Its graphical interface is highly intuitive and easy to navigate, making the user experience very friendly and efficient. Furthermore, the platform features extensive, detailed, and well-structured documentation, which greatly facilitates understanding its functionalities and fully leveraging all its capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

What I don’t like about Sift is that sometimes some records are lost when downloading data. Additionally, when downloading different files, some contain more information than others, which requires manually merging them—a process that is very tedious and time-consuming.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift helps minimize the impact of fraud in e-commerce by allowing precise parameters to improve the approval of legitimate transactions. Additionally, it facilitates the detection and blocking of fraudulent users, protecting the business and improving conversion rates by reducing losses due to fraud.

 ### 12. How Sift is helping risk investigators in mitigating possible fraud and unwanted activity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole E. | Risk investigator, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Sift?**

It is easy to use, you can even have your investigation much effectively as you can justify your decisions according to the details we see in the Sift scores of the customers. How many users are using the device of the customer, order history, and location of the customer. We can check the IP location of the customers, if it matches their address. We can check as well if the customer is linked to other customers of Remitly in other factors or attributes. Sometimes we can see also if there are other customers who are sending under the same IP address and it became a red flag that we have to mitigate. We can cross check also how may times customers are submitting transactions and based it also on their ages.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

I think if there are some linkage but it is inaccurate when we check.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fraud detection and mitigating stolen identity or payment profile. We can see also if the customer is linked to other transactions that have a record of scam. We could see as well if there are multiple accounts being created under the same IP or device.

 ### 13. Accurate Risk Scoring and Automation That Scales Fraud Prevention

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed D. | Payment Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Sift provides strong fraud detection capabilities with accurate risk scoring that helps reduce chargebacks and manual review effort. The platform is relatively easy to integrate and offers clear dashboards that make monitoring fraud trends and decision outcomes straightforward. Its automation features help scale fraud prevention without significantly increasing operational overhead, and customer support is responsive when issues arise.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Some advanced features require additional configuration and fine-tuning to achieve optimal results, which can take time and expertise. Pricing can become relatively high as transaction volume grows, and deeper customization or reporting sometimes requires support involvement rather than being fully self-service. There is also a learning curve for new users when interpreting certain risk signals.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift helps address payment fraud and abuse by identifying high-risk transactions in real time, which reduces chargebacks and financial losses. It enables us to automate fraud decisions at scale, lowering the need for manual reviews and improving operational efficiency. By accurately distinguishing between legitimate and fraudulent users, Sift also helps protect genuine customers from unnecessary declines, supporting a smoother checkout experience and higher conversion rates.

 ### 14. Real-Time Fraud Detection with Flexible, Transparent Case Investigation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Jane E. | Team Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

What I like best about Sift is its ability to provide real-time, data-driven fraud detection while maintaining a seamless customer experience. It effectively combines machine learning with customizable rules, allowing teams to make accurate decisions quickly without heavily impacting good users.

Another key strength is its flexibility and visibility—the platform makes it easy to investigate cases, review signals, and understand the reasoning behind decisions. This helps improve both efficiency and confidence in handling complex risk scenarios.

Overall, Sift stands out for helping teams balance risk prevention and customer trust, enabling smarter and faster decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

One of the main challenges with Sift is that it can feel complex and overwhelming, especially when handling cases with multiple signals, linked accounts, and data points. This sometimes makes it harder to quickly identify the most critical information needed for decision-making.

Additionally, the annotation and documentation process can be time-consuming, particularly when detailed inputs are required across different fields. Missing even a small detail can impact quality, which adds pressure during high-volume workloads.

There are also moments where navigation and filtering could be more intuitive, as locating specific details or switching between related cases may take extra time.

Overall, while Sift is a powerful tool, improving usability, simplification of workflows, and clearer prioritization of key signals would enhance efficiency and user experience.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift solves the problem of identifying and preventing fraudulent or high-risk transactions in real time, especially in environments with large volumes of user activity. It helps detect patterns such as account takeovers, suspicious behaviors, and potential policy violations that would be difficult to catch manually.

For me, this is highly beneficial because it simplifies decision-making by consolidating relevant risk signals, user history, and linked account data into one platform. Instead of manually gathering information from different sources, Sift provides a centralized view that allows for faster and more informed case evaluations.

It also improves accuracy and consistency in handling cases. With access to risk scores, rules, and historical data, I can make more confident decisions while aligning with company policies and SOPs.

Overall, Sift helps me work more efficiently, reduce errors, and maintain quality, while ensuring that legitimate users have a smooth experience and fraudulent activity is minimized.

 ### 15. Clean UI, Seamless Integrations, and High-ROI Fraud Prevention with Sift

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nisha p. | Fraud Operations Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Sift offers a clean, visual UI with seamless e-commerce integrations. Its real-time AI leverages a global network for high performance, though pricing is premium. While onboarding is thorough, the ROI is high through significant chargeback and manual review reduction.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Common dislikes include steep premium pricing and a complex initial setup that often requires technical resources. Users also report occasional false positives that increase manual workloads and limited native reporting compared to competitors, occasionally needing external BI tools for depth.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift solves complex problems like payment fraud, account takeovers, and content scams. By using real-time AI to filter billions of events, it benefits you by reducing manual reviews, slashing chargebacks, and ensuring frictionless experiences for legitimate customers.

 ### 16. Powerful Fraud Detection with Robust Automation, But Complex Setup and Cost Concerns

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerolos G. | Payment Operations Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Sift?**

Real-time risk-scoring of bookings (so you can flag quickly which bookings might be fraudulent) and integration with your PG/fraud tool ecosystem.

Workflows and rules that allow automation of “high risk → block/cancel” actions, freeing you from manual triage.

Dashboards that allow you to monitor fraud decline rates, patterns, and anomalies across your flight & hotel services.

Dispute/chargeback management modules that help you gather evidence, view dispute status, and follow up with acquirers.

Ability to link behaviour (e.g., account creation, booking patterns, refund requests) with risk scoring, which helps you detect “fraud skipes” (skipping patterns) or evolving fraud schemes.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Complexity and implementation effort

Some users report a steep learning curve. The platform offers many capabilities, which means setup, tuning, rule-building, and integration can take time.

For smaller teams or organisations without dedicated fraud specialists, the resources needed (for configuration, fine-tuning, monitoring) may be non-trivial.

Cost and pricing model

Sift uses a custom, quote-based pricing model (often aligned to your transaction volume, the modules you use, and your service level).

Because of that, for smaller merchants with limited volume or limited fraud operations budget, it may be less cost-efficient than simpler tools.

Transparency of scoring / “black box” concerns

Some users note that while the scoring and ML are effective, they don’t always get full visibility into why a decision was made — making explanations to business stakeholders or appeals harder.

Also, there are mentions of false positives or misclassification of legitimate users, which can impact revenue or customer experience.

Reporting / customisation limitations

A few reviews mention that the reporting/analytics could be stronger or more flexible; the rich machine-learning engine is top tier, but viewing, exporting, or fully customising dashboards may be less advanced than desired.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift offers a full “Digital Trust & Safety” suite that spans payment protection, account defense (e.g., account takeover prevention), content integrity (spam/scams), and dispute/chargeback management.

Technology Evaluation Center

Because everything is in one platform, fraud operations can see user behaviour, transactions, and risk across different touch-points (not just payment fraud).

Their global network reportedly handles 1 trillion events per year, meaning the system benefits from very large-scale data.

It is particularly well suited to mid-sized to enterprise-level companies with serious fraud risk, many transactions, or complex cross-channel operations.

It supports integrations with many systems (payment gateways, CRMs, case management).

 ### 17. Essential Tool with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Archie R. | Fraud Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Sift?**

I love the ease of use of Sift and how it can be integrated with most apps without any bugs or minimal technical errors. It's really valuable to me because without it, the work cannot be completed efficiently. The initial setup was perfectly easy and very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Sometimes, the comment section on the app hangs up or freezes, and it can affect other tabs that are also on Sift. I raised it to our IT Team to no avail.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift automates account checks for potential fraud, reducing manual work. It lets me set filters to flag suspicious bookings for agents to review, enhancing efficiency.

 ### 18. Great Visibility Into Linked Accounts and Chargebacks for Fraud Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rumbidzai M. | Customer Experience Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

We can see if the customer has other accounts connected to them and if they have open chargebacks. This really helps when an order has been flagged for fraud.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Sometimes the age of the email is not accurate so that feature cannot be used to determine if an order is fradulent

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us prevent fraudulent orders. We can see if a customer has filed chargebacks and flag them for fraud, so if they place another order, we can block it before it’s processed. The Sift score is also a helpful way to gauge whether an order is fraudulent or low risk.

 ### 19. Accurate Login Insights That Strengthen Security and Reduce Fraud Risk

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liecabeth B. | Abuse Mitigation & Compliance Associate, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

I use this every day as part of my daily tasks, so the ease of use is definitely there. As for integration, I haven’t tried it yet. Sift is generally easy to implement, with clear documentation and straightforward information.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

The setup can sometimes feel manual and time-consuming, and a few processes would benefit from more automation to make everything more convenient.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift addresses the challenge of detecting and preventing fraudulent or suspicious login activity by delivering accurate device and location insights. This allows me to spot potential threats quickly, lower fraud risk, and make faster, more confident security decisions as part of my day-to-day work.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Sift?**

We have moved from log only to using the scores for identifying abuse. Sift's ML models accuracy has improved in detecting sophisticated fraud patterns, particularly around account takeover and payment abuse. Also the reporting and dashboards have been enhanced to delivered better observability for scores and decision outcomes.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Score transparency still remains an area for improvement. API has improved and we are now able to navigate through the documentation easily for any enhancements.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time fraud detection on custom registrations and transactions, to prevent ATO - account takeovers, payment fraud, and promotion abuse. In the evaluation stage, the performance of Sift in terms of fraud detection has outperformed our inhouse built systems.

 ### 21. Fantastic Dashboard Insights and Well-Documented Workflows

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Angel C. | Flutter Software Engineer | Founding Team, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

It also relies heavily on accurate input data, and any issues there can affect the accuracy of its scores. In addition, it may have limited ability to detect very niche or newly emerging types of fraud, and for some businesses the integration can be both costly and complex.

 ### 31. Real-Time Fraud Prevention That Protects Good Users—with a Strong Product Mindset

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arlyn Y. | Risk Investigator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Sift?**

What I like best about Sift is how it turns a really hard, high-stakes problem—fraud and abuse—into something actionable in real time. The combination of strong machine learning, massive network data, and a clear focus on trust means the work has very tangible impact: it protects businesses and keeps good users from being punished by false positives.

I’m also drawn to Sift’s product mindset—practical, customer-centric, and built to scale—plus the culture of collaboration across engineering, data, and product to solve messy, real-world problems together.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

One potential downside is that working in fraud and abuse prevention means the problem space is constantly shifting—bad actors adapt quickly—so there’s ongoing pressure to evolve models, rules, and infrastructure at a fast pace. That can be challenging and requires a high tolerance for ambiguity and continuous iteration.

That said, I see this less as a flaw in Sift itself and more as an inherent trade-off of operating in a mission-critical, adversarial domain.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sift is solving the problem of trust in digital commerce—helping businesses prevent fraud, abuse, and account takeover without creating friction for legitimate users. By using machine learning and network-level insights, Sift enables companies to make fast, accurate decisions at scale, even as fraud patterns constantly evolve.

That benefits me because it aligns with the kind of problems I want to work on: technically challenging, data-driven systems that have clear real-world impact. Sift’s work protects users from harm, helps businesses grow safely, and creates an environment where thoughtful engineering and analytical rigor directly translate into better outcomes.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Sift?**

How it learns from my choises and make decisions base of them. What I like most about Sift is how effectively it combines automation with actionable insights. It allows us to detect and prevent fraud early in the account creation process while still giving our team the flexibility to review and make informed decisions. The risk scoring, rule customization, and clear dashboards make it easy to understand why an account is flagged, which helps us act quickly and consistently while maintaining a good user experience.

**What do you dislike about Sift?**

Nothing so far, been using it for 4 years. One area for improvement with Sift is that sometimes the system can generate false positives, flagging legitimate accounts for review. While this is understandable given the focus on fraud prevention, it can slow down the onboarding process for real users. Having more granular controls or additional context in the alerts could help reduce these cases and make the moderation workflow even more efficient.

**What problems is Sift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creations of fake accounts in our platform and giving a score to each.Sift helps us prevent fraudulent account creation and detect suspicious activity early, which protects the integrity of our platform and the trust of our users. By automating much of the risk assessment with clear scoring and alerts, it reduces the manual workload for our team and allows us to focus on reviewing only the accounts that need attention. This not only improves operational efficiency but also ensures a safer and smoother experience for our legitimate users.

 ### 34. Sift is essential but with room for improvements
