Our marketplace is very dynamic and keeping our sales reps current on things like our new products, competitive moves, analyst reports and relevant mergers in our industry is really hard.

We've got a rep email tool, a research tool, a quote tool, a presentation tool, an electronic signature tool and a forecasting tool. I'm using WebEx to record reps selling conversations and Dropbox to store and organize them - what does role-play automation add? I'm trying to simplify all the tools we use, not add more!

My sales team is in 5 different time zones and they have calls scheduled throughout the work day. Getting them all on the phone once or twice a month for a role-playing session is difficult to do and to explain -- leadership wants increased selling time, not more meetings.

I've done role-playing exercises as a rep and as a sales leader with my team. It seems to work well but the sales reps don't like it because its stressful. If this makes it more stressful, my team won't use it.

I know that stories are central to the human experience and some experts say that we can't remember anything that is not part of a story, but I've never heard of a story program for a business. It sounds soft. I want my teams working, not telling stories!
